Memorable scenes of The Sopranos TV Series. It was more than 2 years when James Gandolfini passed away. I miss The Sopranos, I miss Tony Soprano, and I miss James Gandolfini so much.
Sometimes it's good to come back here, and watch his greatest scenes over and over again. He was a very talented and fascinating actor. I hope these videos help to keep his memory

James Stackhouse That’s really kind of a shitty thing to say. Part of being human has everything to do with compassion. Just because he was a famous actor doesn’t mean anyone sad about his passing won’t have any feelings left for when their own nearest loved ones pass on before them. James had family/friends who loved him too and most of us can or will one day relate to them. Compassion. Empathy.

This was the very first scene I ever saw of The Sopranos and it remains one of my favorite scenes. A look from Meadow to AJ and then to Tony. No dialogue and it spells out so much of what this world is about. “Look On Down From The Bridge” seals it. AJ’s eyes are wide opened and now so is the audience’s. A perfect scene.

As I reflect on the show, this really is a sad moment. Every son comes to the realization that his dad is not superman. This episode was AJ's moment. In fact, this scene is AJ's realization that his dad is really a stranger. The space between them at the funeral is real. A nod and a wink is no longer unspoken communication that can cover that gap. Also, maybe about the loss of innocence.

By #4, they were treading water and repeating themselves. And those stupid "dream" episodes without a point! I'd stop at season 2. I think only "Breaking Bad" and "Mad Men" were able to pull off so many episodes... and even the latter got kinda' repetitive the second-to-last season. A show's first season always hits different. A lot more is put on the line and all the stops are pulled early, it's like a giant movie with a beginning, middle, and end. Tony seems much different here than in the later seasons, and it's not just his weight. He's relaxed, confident. He knows who he is and he knows precisely what he needs to do. In later seasons he's much more confused, unsure of himself, less confident.

No offense to daughters, but that wink at the end- that’s such a father-son moment. When dad is busy but catches you eye, and a subtle wink that’s equivalent to a big hug from your father. Such a special moment for sons

The wink captures the essence of James Gandolfini. We are supposed to hate Tony Soprano but James has such an endearing charm and charisma that it’s impossible to hate him for too long. He was one of a kind. The more I watch The Sopranos the more I see that there will never be anyone like James as Tony ever again. RIP

Für mich : 1.The Sopranos 2. Breaking Bad 3. Walking dead / Prison Break

This scene and the one where Christopher is high at the carnival stuck with me the most. Only this show cinematography and music could perfectly represent real life vivid emotions of grief, deep rooted fears, uncertainty, jealousy, superstition, addiction and in this scene a character maturing in front of the audience. Whatever emotion they're trying to convey it is never forced or heavy handed. AJ lost a part of his innocence and is worried of who his father really is...

What an expertly crafted scene. Moving (smile to son, his son appreciating his Dad belongs to an unmistakable group of dark hair colleagues, Tony having a quick but deep look at that coffin), telling, the men behind the boss (whether they agree with Junior's style or not). Photography, music. They put together a talented film making crew.

This show was so god damn good. It still holds up years later. It has tremendous re-watchability, there are so many moving parts and events that go down you’ll still be surprised every now and then. It’s similar to why (IMO) The Wire is my favorite show ever made. It’s a thick, novel that transports you out of reality and makes you excited _and_ sad sometimes at the same time.

I crack up at Meadow's stupid smirk at the end. lol Then that connection with Tony and AJ, what their dynamic was about was fatherly approval. Tony wanted his Dad's approval but all he got was his mother's resentment. Then AJ, towards the end of the series, tried taking out Uncle Junior thinking it was the right thing for his Dad.

I feel this is the greatest show ever to embrace the screen ,the show which inspired Mad Men,breaking bad ,game of thrones and a lot others and was the sole reason for the golden age of Television ,which we are witnessing today. Such a shame Mr.Gandolfini passed away at such a young age. God bless the whole Sopranos Cast.

Hot Damn, Amazing scene...... I was just like many other idiots who dissed the greatest show on television. But I was in my late 20s, so sometimes The Sopranos seemed slow to me, if bullets were not flying, I then found myself getting bored with it. My father on the other hand loved it, the storyline to the actors themself. Now im 54, around the same age my dad was when Sopranos aired live on Sunday nights on HBO. And after this bullshit mask wearing, lockdown BULLSHIT, I binged watched the whole series three weeks ago and I love the Sopranos more now than I ever did before. I love how David Chass and the rest of the cast & crew made these wise guys & family so relatable to any working class who slave our asses off so our kids can eat, or have the little extra incase our sons want to play high school football or daughters want to cheer. That also means cash on hand, So set aside all the mob life, the struggling is still relatively the same for a man who punches a timecard everyday. Even tho it looks like money just walked in by itself by the bag loads.. Silveo, Christopher, Pauly, Hess, Bobby B, even Tony still had to grind it out on the daily. But Tony still made time to go man the BBQ for family parties and try and be the best father he can be while being a gangster. And that is the saddest part, we feel Tony had a harder time dealing with his sins then the rest of the crew. I think that's why we love Tony Soprano even tho he is a cold blooded murder. And that is why I can't wait for "The Many Saints of Newark" I am hoping David Chase gives a deeper insight on how & why Tony from teenager to young man chose to follow in his dad's shoes.

Sums up the Sopranos perfectly : the mixture of the 2 families, the humour behind and the fact you can't dislike "the family". And that things are not always/often what they seem.
