The interesting thing is... James Gandolfini, in real life, was a very mellow, cheerful guy. Great acting. RIP James. You are SORELY missed. NJs true finest.
Did anyone else catch at 1:55 how his mother came out of him? "He talked to you! Awww....poor you!" Thats EXACTLY the same trip his mom would lay on him. Excactly something she would have said to him.
"And fiddle with the air conditioning." That's one thing I loved about this show. Even in some serious moments, it always manages to find a way to slip come comedy in.
The hate that spent all that time bottling up between these two characters exploded so perfectly in this scene. Brilliant acting from two brilliant actors.
So fucked up how she threw Furio under the bus just to piss Tony off. No consideration that Tony might actually have him killed. He's had people killed for less.
For one, I don’t think he’d actually kill Furio over this. Just because she’s fantasizing about somebody they have to be killed? Other thing is he’d never be killed in Italy. He’s related to to the acting boss.
R.I.P James Gandolfini Tony may have been a POS, but James was well liked, respected & talented actor who loved his family more than anything in the world. You are missed James.
That part where he flips out and goes for her, and her reaction when she thinks he's going to smash her face is so well-acted. This is my favourite season finale out of the show's run. Such a master class of acting.
Always loved this scene. It takes the air out of the room and makes it suffocating and makes u feel like you’re there. Amazing acting amazing scene. Love the Sopranos. Greatest tv show eveh;-)
her last look is amazing. it says four things. 1. i'm going to walk away.... 2. do you want to stop me? 3. i guess you don't. 4. that was your last chance.
Edie Falco rocks, she is in the same league as Meryl Streep, amazing actress!!!! The chemistry between her and James G is absolutely amazing, what a pair! SOPRANOS one of the best shows ever!
James and Edie went full-on with their acting in this scene. THIS is what I call master-class acting. So intense that, for a moment, we forgot that they were just acting.
Falco blew the house down with this episode. Hell, the day this episode aired, everyone knew she was a lock for the emmy and golden globe for best lead actress (against some pretty damn tough competition too). World class acting.
This is probably one of the best depictions of a husband and wife fighting. Carmela lets her emotions and anger overcome her and throwing Furio under the bus to get at Tony. @1:50 She gets a rare glimpse of the sociopath that she married. She is scared and not sure of what he might do next.
i happen to know from a source that was there for this scene that 5 minutes before Edie Falco was doing some knitting on the set- cool calm relaxed waiting for the call to the set- James was quite the opposite- he was into character 2 hours before in dressing room getting himself all wound up for this scene, screaming, grunting, yelling etc - 2 different methods- amazing outcome from both.
