In that instant, he knew she was going to have to die, and he was infuriated at her for making the decisions that led to that final dissolution of their relationship. In this there was no going back, no forgive and forget. She was going to have to go away for ever, and to him it was her fault for doing this to him.
@@Str8Bidness I just noticed he hits Adrianna with a closed fist in that scene, that is the first time I have seen his hand completely closed out of all the times he hits her.
@Dave nah he hits her several times with a closed fist, after the whole car accident with Tony for example. The significance here is the choking, he knew she had to die and was about to take matters into his own hands, but wasn't strong enough to kill the woman he loves with his bare hands. Pretty sad shit
Tony also says in the same episode “wtf is wrong with you? You suffocated the dog i outta suffocate you myself” and his character does just that a few seasons later.
One of TV's greatest characters - hilarious, terrifying, psychopathic... But full of twisted love, need, thwarted ambition and insecurity. Christopher Moltisanti is like a great Shakespeare character and beautifully realised by Michael Imperioli.
@Sharks Well, my terminology may be slightly incorrect but Christopher definitely has an access to and an appetite for terrifying, murderous violence which very often is part of a psychopathic personality type. And how exactly was he displaying his 'sensitivity' when he was beating the crap out of his sweet, supportive, kind girlfriend in plenty of episodes? Chris is a great character, sure; but he's not sensitive about anyone but himself and his weird, increasingly twisted relationship with Tony. For the most part, it's all about him.
It's crazy how well they developed his arc over the entire series. Junkie scumbag, tormented addict, disillusioned gangster, funny guy, the only one who was ever really honest to Tony's face for the most part. They gave him a lot of things to be sympathetic about but it all kind of goes out the window when you see him choking and beating the shit out of his girlfriend over and over. Still jarring to me even after watching the whole series several times. Brutal af. A great and complex character played to perfection by Mr. Imperioli.
Sil and Tony's family were pretty honest to him too. But Sil was more careful than Christopha, obviously, because Sil knows his temper very well and is more calm by nature too
And that's why Sopranos is the greatest - there's no moral lecturing here - just complex characters. And that's the thing - men that beat their women aren't 100% bad - they're complex - as all humans are.
Michael Imperioli is the complete opposite in real life. That's how good of an actor he is. And even though Chris does despicable things at times for some messed up reason he is still one of the stronger characters... even likeable at times.
@HOTD108_ No, I think they're saying that Micheal is the opposite in that he's eloquent and sophisticated in contrast to how Chris is violent, crass and hot-headed. Not the likability part.
He did get shot and almost died. And was arrested. And had to go to rehab. And then was murdered by his father figure boss. After murdering his fiance. Not exactly escaping the mafia lifestyle unscathed.
I love how unaware Christopher seems until he snaps and gets the crazy eyes. Laughing as he walks away from almost whacking Paulie, he’s got some balls that kid
His character was a true basket case to be sure, but they wrote some of the best lines for him. And Michael did a fine job portraying him. I couldn't think of another actor playing this character.
sanjosesharkrock lol that was before he was even a regular character on the show. That was meant to be a one time role he was a just a civilian. Notice how the clerk called him “Gino”
Sure it does. There's been a lot of brilliant television much better and it's been put out long before The Sopranos. But that doesn't take away from The Sopranos.
@@michaelgraham9774 Christopher is probably in hell, Tony's ending is him dying over and over again like Christopher predicted, that's why i don't think the cat is Christopher.
Michael is an impressive actor. When I first saw him, I thought he looked like a goofy. But he’s like Joe Pesci, he’s believably tough and crazy for his short size. Christopher is like a young Richie Aprile
Doctor assessed the bruises on Chris' knuckles & was shocked: "Christopher, how do you beat your partner?" "It's easy: better range & footwork!". A lot of young girls see the glamour of going out with a rich, young bad boy, totally oblivious to the fact that they're going to become a human punching bag the second these tall children hear the word "no".
Well, maybe her being with a guy that was successful and making lots of money lured her in the early days but after, genuinely loved him. That's the way I saw it.
marc80s fuck her...equal rights u want...bitches always play the innocent victims...let them taste their own medicine....man have the right to raise up on these no good gold digging cunts
In 1982 Phil Leotardo was in the can eating grilled cheese of the radiator and jacking off into a tissue while Vito drank his soft drink of choice up in the gay club
this is true in life, people who have "bad luck" dont really have bad luck, they just put themselves in bad situations so much that bad things are going to happen often. heres an example, i knew a girl was always a party girl, one time she is partying at some ex drug addicts appartment and he went crazy barricaded everyone in the appartment and set it on fire, they all had to jump out of the window and she broke her back, she put it down to bad luck, nah, you were partying with unstable drug users, what did u think was gonna happen? play tiddly winks and bake a cake? get the fuck outta here
@@Soulgaming2402 nope, i grew up on a council estate in a coal mining village. i spent my teens bunking off school, smoking weed and drinking. my life was shit until i got into my early 20's and guess what i did? i stopped putting myself into bad situations, cut people out of my life that did stuff that got me in bad situations and got some hobbies that were actually good for me. a lot of my friends are dead or in prison now. some of them are heroin addicts. they were the ones who always make excuses up and continue with the same behaviour, same result. all in all i believe in determinism, every small decision i make in the present will determine what happens to me in the future.
oclarke31 we did not ! we have no idea what the easter baskets are, and the mind can only boggle and what possibly could have happened involving easter baskets.
T Dente Exactly. If the cast of Friends got $1 million per episode imagine how much an actor like Imperioli made off HBO per episode. He's living the life of leisure
the whole ‘Visiting Day’ recording session scene was HILARIOUS 😭 Chrissy tryna force the lead man to take drugs, the sucking a power line comment lmaooo, threatening & smacking him wit the guitar. Brilliant
John Butch It is, there are several scenes in which he shoots like a marksman while no other character does this, he is clearly the guy with great shooting talent in the bunch.
The marlin's snout on the retired cop's wall. Shoots Sean Gismonte in the head in a rolling car, with a bullet in his chest. Point shoots JT in the head after a quick 180° turn, while completely hammered. Shoots Carlo Renzi in the head during the shootout at Eugene's card game. I'm sure there are more
Chris had the makings of going to the top. Throughout the show he could be one of the coldest gangsters in the entire crew. If he didn't fall into drugs, he would have made it so far.
Being Cold isn't what gets you to the top. It's having a mind for Chess. With a mind for Chess you make decisions based purely on logic. The reactive mind, like He had was fine for a low level thug, but would be deadly to a Management role. A reactive mind in a management role could bring down an entire operation, not just some corner of it. That's the reason he was kept in a low level position. Probably one of the best minds to have groomed in that show was Furio.
he was too emotional even compared to Tony bros a complete mess the only reason he got so far was because of his connection to Tony and even he got fed up with him
"You're gonna have a heartattack by the time you're 50" Dies of a heartattack at 51. I know..I know we had this talk, but shit. Such a talent and great man.
@@Berkmugga coming from Cali definitely knows how to beat a woman? Lol betcha if you someone treating your sister or mother like that your panties be all in bunch. Twist sadist.
Had the pleasure of meeting Drea deMatteo at Seneca Casino a couple of years ago...one of the coolest "celebrities" I have ever met...my wife and her were like instant best friends... Before she left for the night she even broke out of the security to come over and say a personal goodbye to my wife...how cool is that?
No filters, no education, no self consciousness, so insecure. Great character study and dramatic portayal of psychopathology and sociopathy. I saw this whole series as a very dark comedy and a masterpiece drama with an antihero as the focus.
I love how whenever Christopher shows some depth and empathy, he invariably turns around and acts like a total piece of shit, sometimes in the same scene. But i guess that's everyone on this show😄
The show was supposed to be a drama but it's actually peak black comedy, given how well it's written & how all their hypocrisies are on display at all times.
Is held at gunpoint by some drug dealers, still talks shit to them. He had some balls on him, that's for sure. Besides Imperioli played this character perfectly, absolutely amazing and unforgettable character.
My favorite character in the series. Tony did him dirty af! Smh. They left out the best scenes tho from the intervention to when he sat on Cossette. "she musta crawled under there for warmth" lmfao
@@plshelpmeawkdough he was stuck in a life he didn't want to be in, constantly around men who berate him for not drinking and then doing so anyways when he does drink. you're right in that he was bound to fail but it's more so because of the people around him
