In all honesty Tonny's tirades may have been a relief for John, with all the fucking scheaming that went on his family. When Tony lost his temper he told you what his problem was, resonable or not you probably got a straigh awnser.
Another RU-vidr described Johnny Sack as the only guy on the show with class...I think it was in reference to Ralph's rude remark about Ginny and Johnny's love and acceptance for her.
Tony did have the makings of a varsity athlete. He was strong as a bull, had great physical stamina, great hand to eye coordination. Even when he was overweight and wearing a heavy winter coat he was able to run through the snow and avoid the FBI.
purple "knob" mirror, "Jim" lol like you know him, give me a break, you're like these phony actors that say "Bobby", when they are referring to Robert De Niro
Steve Buscemis most underrated role imo, he really sells that he just isn’t scared of any of Tonys posturing and power plays with that one scene in the alley... incredible acting
joey Leverton fuck yea. It’s those long beautiful legs in pantyhose which woman rarely wear anymore idk why they look great on woman’s legs.. let’s face it as men short skirts boots and pantyhose, nothing hotter on a woman
As awful as it is to lose James so early, it really does add a ton of “lore” to his character and the show. People talk about actors being born for a certain role, I don’t think there’s ever been a better example.
I agree that James Gandolfini was born to play Tony Soprano but I don't understand what you mean by adding lore to the character and show? It's not like he died as soon as the show ended in some odd twist of fate to reflect that of Tony's. How can the death of a real person add "lore" to fiction? It just elicits a more emotional response from viewers when they remember that James passed away too early. How is that anything but a tragedy?
The varsity athlete thing is hilarious and it has become one of the most quotable and one of the best jokes but it really is some of the best dramatic acting sequences ever the Sunday dinner then Tony and janice arguing you see what Tony went thru as a kid and then the prairie dog scene gets me choked up every time Tony saying don’t you love me and jrs no response but a tear. Best show ever
I love the: "OH YOU DON'T WANNA KNOW". I've applied that phrase with some cousins and even my siblings over family gatherings while the argument begin.
Second Coming Of Bast I love how her main point was infidelity yet she was emotionally cheating with Father Antentola or whatever in season 1 and pouted like a little girl when she found out he also spent time with Rosalie Aprile. She also kissed the paint guy and scared him off when he realized who her husband was. And she got super close to sleeping with Furio and went into a mini depression when he left for Italy. I think deep down she just resented that she wasn't able to have anything on the side like Tony did. Two real fucked up people.
@@fulldump9834 Resented that she couldn't fool around like her husband? Maybe she was simply deeply hurt that he was a greedy, loud, indiscriminate cockhound who was also a murderer and the father of her children. Granted she knew what she was getting into (like Tony reminds her), but I am sure that she couldn't anticipate all the hurtful things she would endure. Regardless of the situation, getting stepped out on is never pleasant; especially if they mess with slum.
@@acat6145so what? My dad was like that when I was a kid, just less violent. He provided, did the right things, paid his bills and debts. Stop shaming people's lives.
But men are always willing to call women emotional, when theu fly constantly into rages. Men have successfully convinced other men that anger is the only acceptable emotion as a man.
Silvio might have mentioned pride being his shortcoming, but if he had mentioned he is a uncontrollable glutton, silvio would have gone on four legs like ade with tony blasting him with a shotgun💀 carm was surely right when she said even if you make a corny joke , they will laugh with every shred of their body, they fear you. Fearful enough to be careful around tony and what to say
When Sopranos switches gears it's almost more effective somehow, the varsity athlete joke had me in bits but then when Tony asks "Don't you love me" to Junior it just feels really emotional and it works
1:44 never fails to make me laugh but its also fucking great cause he gets all emotional and then realizes he seems weak, so his natural reaction is to cover any feelings with shit talk and rage like he does in the mob
Tony and Janice had an awful relationship. Their mother destroyed both of their psyches. Tony goes out of his way to bring Janice down because it brings balance back into the fray. Hes constantly miserable, and needs his sister to be as well
6:41 that was me for about 2 years what ever tony was going through i can say that if you ever had to start over like that you know what its like to be on your own
I'm suprised in the most tense scenes, comedic, tragic, saying nonstop lines with efficiency and emotion.. With a ensemble cast, he does the heavy lifting of the series like a pro and it is so effortless
