Fantastic four-hour tour visiting filming locations in New Jersey for the hit TV show The Sopranos - filmed in 4K on June 14, 2023 #thesopranos #newjersey #filmlocation #hbo #tvshow
@@josephtalmadge3108 Joseph R. Gannascoli no less! Yes, the first time we did the tour in 2015 Joseph was signing pictures and having photos with people before they got on the bus
You passed by my dads house! I grew up in Kearny, now live a town over from Bloomfield(where Holsten’s is). It’s funny how so many wouldn’t take the show at first bc Chase didn’t want to film in Hollywood and was insistent on doing the entire show here of all places, but he had a vision and it changed TV forever! Great video, nicely edited!
Hi Chris, thank you for the nice feedback, greatly appreciated. It was a no-brainer to do the Sopranos tour while we were in NY, even though I did it before back in 2015. New Jersey is a great place too, and I'm glad I captured your dad's house (point it out for me if you're ok with that). I love the show, and getting to see some of the landmarks from it is awesome - cheers!
I grew up in Kearny also. At one time my entire family lived in Kearny, on Ivy st, Elm st, West Bennett, and Schuyler ave. Then we all moved away but Kearny NJ is still in our heritage of where we came from.
I almost lost it when I saw Davey’s old store. I was in the area with younger coworkers that never saw the series. I don’t recommend box sets lightly, but Soprano’s is worthy of purchasing.
THIS IS AWESOME I.JUST TOOK THE TOUR LAST WEEK SAME EXACT AWESOME TOUR GUIDE thank you so much for putting this together WOW excellently done I will be doing the tour again!!!! Until then I can watch this IT KICKS BUTT
Wow, thanks for so much praise James! Really appreciate it. Yes the main reason I made this video is so I can relive the tour myself. I am a massive Sopranos fan if you have not already guessed!
Some years back, my brother and I took a drive around to some of these sites. Satriale's was still there at that time. I took a photo of my brother standing out in front. He still uses that photo as his FB profile pic. After Satriale's we started driving again. I wanted to get coffee. My brother grumbled a bit but he took me to Dunkin Donuts. As he sat in the car waiting for me he realized that we were right next door tp Puss' body shop! An added bonus! You can see the DD next door to the shop in this video during the shot of Puss' shop. For 13 years I worked at the pipeline facility which is behind and next door to the "Drive Safely" oil tank seen in the opening credits. The tank to the left of it in the credits (it also says "Drive Safely" on it but faces the oncoming lanes of the Turnpike) actually got to floating during Hurricane Sandy. It had to be relocated back onto its platform and repaired before they could use it again.
Amazing how the talent of the film crew can make America look better than it really is. In reality it’s a soulless place. The buildings are all charmless plywood constructs. The restaurants are all much smaller inside than you would imagine, most surprising
Great shot of the Stikle Bridge on 280 at 2:57. The bridge crosses the Passaic River. What I don't get is why they didn't feature Pulaski Savings bank. I lived across the street in Harrison in the 80's. The "Middle school" that A.J went to was the high school I attended but now they built a bigger one. They were all over Kearny and Harrison but they didn't neglect to feature Pizzaland on the Bellvue Pike.
Thank you for posting this. Done the tour way back in 2011. Amazing that even all these years after the series finished people still go see these sites. Fantastic show. Is the club now closed?
Sad to see Satriale's is an empty parking lot, shrine to the tv show. Honorable mention, can still go to Pizzaland for a slice, where Tony & Carmella hung out, and Tony's first fight, bookend by onion rings at Holster's.
I know every last location, born in East Orange, raised in Newark and East Orange, been to every county in the state. The Skyway diner used to have a breakfast sandwich special, egg bacon and cheese for $1.99, sign was outside for years.
Nice Video Rusty but I'm sorry to say, that I've never seen a single Episode of it. Looks like you had a nice time, and it was good that you featured Scenes from the Programme to the Location on the Video. I'm assuming you've seen all Episodes?
Is it weird that I feel proud that I was on Fluoxetine hydrochloride in my early 20s to early 30 because Tony took it on the recommendations of a psychologist too? Chronologically at the same time, too!
Not on the tour but the scuba store in Cedar Grove NJ in the opening scene in the episode Paulie buys the gloves and learns his Aunt the nun is really his Mom has just closed its doors for good
I don’t know if I will ever get there so thanks that’s phenomenal in detail even quite obscure ones. I just wondered did they film inside Satriales ? it looked like they did a few times, with Agent Harris going for food and Larry moaning about Tony and when Pauli is going to a football game. Outside once with Artie pulling a the gun on Tony another with Tony lambasting Tony B another when Dom is killed and arrives and leaves
@@rustyjames_shortfilms Well 100% when Tony B was massaging the others Tony wanted outside to talk that was there. Also when Tony Soprano went there’s parked his car and Fat Dom was topped he went in and left that was the car park. The other ones it’s hard to say cause it looked like they was sitting inside could be camera tricks, don’t know if they ever mocked it up to film in It’s a great tour anyway do you ever go to Centrannis ? where they filmed the pilot the first pork store they used.
Take a ride to Jersey City Heights .Corner of Congress Street and Central Avenue.. Kayes Spring Garden.. real Chinese restaurant in the episode nowhere the Brooklyn Family blows up Heshs car .

@@gerryg8207 Yep, I went past it today. And it's NORTH Caldwell btw. There is a Caldwell but it's a different nearby town. Tony lived in North Caldwell. And Silvio's house in on the same street in real life. 6 Aspen Dr. And Livia's house is ten minutes away, 55 Gould St, Verona NJ.
@@rustyjames_shortfilms In the banner you have over the front of the ice cream shop. Not a big deal but I thought I'd mention it. Go to 12 minutes and 22 seconds.
I live ot while the show ran from '01-'07 yet made sure i watched every Sunday i loved the fact that i could pick out spots that i knew like the back of my hand I'm surprised you didn't go to the cemetery where the Fed's ran down on them. It's literally 2 blocks from my mom's house and across the street from Dickenson High school my alma matta. Not too far from big pussy's house.
thank you for the nice feedback and for subscribing, much appreciated. It was $70 each, well worth it if you're a fan of the show or just want to visit New Jersey for a few hours
Like most industrial states and cities, it epitomizes the decline of America. What once was the backbone of American ingenuity and industries, is now run down and decaying...and we keep buying overseas
New Jersey sure is an ugly place. I did a Sopranos tour about ten years ago and enjoyed it a lot. People were taking pictures of the dirt behind the strip club.
That was the most violent TV show I ever saw. Frankly, it was sickening. Enough to turn your stomach. I wonder how much of that was fiction and how much of that really goes on in real life.
Shame Satriales never got a historic building exemption from being knocked down due to historical significance as the show that made the area famous and brings tourism to this day 20 years later.
