I appreciate y’all’s willingness to subject yourselves to on screen freak outs over processing this. The hype over this movie in my family has been making me feel *insane*

My wife is a retired helicopter pilot who helped save a literal boat full of trafficked women and children in Heber, UT. And yet I have LDS cousins and friends who think this movie is what is actually helping. I hate seeing them get more radicalized into the Q sphere. Thank you for spreading awareness.

I know of 3 people who were trafficked. By their own families. Most of the time it’s not the random strangers doing this stuff, it’s the person in your own circle.

I am a survivor of domestic minor sex trafficking in the US, child abuse, and CSAM(child abuse materials). I was born into generational abuse. my grandfather was LDS and an elder in the church. he started abusing me before I was 2. I was taken from him after my grandmother died at 5. I was 6 yrs old and in kindergarten when I was first sold to a man in a motel. my trafficker was my mother and her boyfriend. I was 7 when they first used me in CSAM(child abuse materials). I ran away at 15 finishing the 10th grade as a homeless teen. I have worked in the anti-trafficking movement for over a decade. I am considered an HT Expert. I have worked with over 400 victims of trafficking. I developed sustainable treatment options for victims of HT. I train LE and others on HT. I have worked on legislation on HT and helped to get bills passed into law. I also developed an age-appropriate curriculum for schools 6th grade -high school on trafficking child abuse CSAM and online safety. I work with other survivor leaders all over the US and in other countries. I have worked with The Polaris Project Office of Victims of Crimes, Homeland Security, Thorn, and others. I also take in minors who have been trafficked. I met Tim Ballard in 2014 and again in 2015 when I was speaking at a summit on trafficking. in 2016 I reached out to OUR for help with aftercare for 4 survivors of trafficking. that is when I learned more about the inflated numbers of "rescues" and victims they were using to raise money! In 2019 they brought in 21 million! Tim Ballard and OUR are not at all what they seem! I have learned many things about them both over the years doing the work I do and also have first-hand experiences with Tim and OUR. Thank you for putting this out! it's ALL about Money FOR THEM not about HT or the victims. in fact, the human trafficking experts I work with have had meetings on OUR. Honestly, they are dangerous. They are not trauma-informed and they revictimize and retraumatize. I'll never forget Tim taking a picture with me ...standing next to the "survivor" and feeling like ...I was being used for his profit! They are aligned with the whole QANON consistory! bottom line EDUCATION LEADS TO PREVENTION. We have to find the root causes of why children become victims of HT. I call this the roots of risk. then find ways to fill in those gaps so they don't become victims. 89% of victims of HT were sexually abused as children including myself! if we want to stop trafficking we must learn how to stop child sexual abuse. it also takes collaboration. HT is a crime that is far too large to be taken on by one organization and people who actually do this work know that.

I feel really bad for people who don't want to take the time to understand the in depth problems with situations like this. They want it to be easily solved, to be A is bad and B is just s victim, but oppression snd victimization are both super messy. And people don't want to deal with that

I want to thank you two for making these videos. I really appreciate your rage. I don't know if you can understand how much your anger means to someone like me, who was trafficked for more than 3 decades. I just stumbled across people promoting Ballard's vanity project 2 days ago and what I heard made me choke on my coffee. Literally. The reality of human trafficking is spun into stories appealing to a mainly male, American, conspiracy theory loving, religious, virtue signaling, right wing audience. These stories are already used to discard what actually happens. And a group of ethically questionable American men make a shit ton of money off of the suffering of real people. Again, thank you guys for talking about it.

I know you don’t like either of them, but the senator from Texas is named Ted Cruz. I’m only saying this in case there’s a good person out there named Tim Cruz. Also, I think Jim Caviezel is just pronounced Ca- vee-zel, but I could be wrong. Again, I don’t like either of them, and would not want to associate myself with either of them, but in case you wanted to be correct.

I watched the movie as it was recomended by a co worker. I had so many questions. Is theis really what it looks like? How did they keep the kids safe with all the guns around? What happened after. I did know most abuse like that comes from people in the family or community and wished they actually showed that. What they shaowed as the preditor was the stereo typical weird loner at his computer... I have noticed Tim and Jim sayinging it's not political, but only speaking to rightwing media and attacking the left for any criticism. Thank you for really looking into this. Your anger and shock are justified. A lot of us are right here with you.

I've seen a lot of videos saying that it's a Propaganda film from start to finish, but I wasn't aware of their org making the problem even worse until I saw your videos. Today on Facebook, a local 🇨🇦 news agency posted a fun story about two guys who attended the Barbie/Oppenheimer double feature, and the comment section was riddled with idiots crying, “What about Sound of Freedom?!” and I seriously just wanted slam my head into a wall.

I am so thankful you two have taken the time and rage to detail this to us all. Ive tried to find information or other dialogues about OUR and you two have provided such a good explanation of this all. This ideology is MASSIVELY driven by religion and some others ive seen talking about this miss this piece. You both are still "very watchable" in this video because it *should* make people angry, anger is not a bad emotion and drives change and truth. You following your feelings lead to some really important information to be added ❤ so thank you for taking that emotional bandwidth to research so in depth and share this with us!! If you two have any knowledge of *real* groups who make an effort in systemically fighting trafficking, maybe drop some names/donation links 🙂 it might help that spiralling feeling by reinforcing that there is good people out there and we have community. Great discussion about a frustrating topic. TL;DR version: Batman can't solve child trafficking. One of my favorite novels I read as a teen in the 90's was "Batman: The Ultimate Evil" by Andrew Vachss. Vachss himself was a lawyer and activist who's done much much more to protect and rehabilitate trafficked and abused children than the self-promoting ass-hat "The Sound of Freedom" is about. The main reason I liked "Ultimate Evil" is that while Batman sure is cool, the point is repeatedly made that his tactics do nothing to fight or solve these problems. In the first half, Bruce Wayne teams up with a social worker, sincerely trying to find ways that Batman can get better at his job. He's motivated to do this because the social worker flat out tells him, "Batman doesn't fight crime, he fights criminals." She's sympathetic to Bruce's own personal trauma, but her motivation is for this rich guy with political connections to witness the even worse traumas many children of Gotham city live through daily, typically at the hands of their own living parents. The second half has Bruce/Batman traveling to totally-not-Thailand investigating an Epstein-esque tourism ring (again, the book was published in 1995). He meets some rebels fighting against the complicit state government, joins their attack on a compound as Batman, free some kids, and then the rebel leader explains, "Thanks, this was cool, but only one hydra head was cut off and will grow back because supply-and-demand, and these kids will never have anything like a normal life. But still, your gadgets are really neato." After the fiction concludes, Vachss ends the book with a non-fiction article from David Hechler which hammers home the reality of the situation, including proposed courses of action, none of which involve vigilante violence. Batman can't fix this, the real solutions aren't exciting or sexy, and all the people involved in "The Sound of Freedom" should know better.

The movie was just released where I live in Australia. I started noticing friends on facebook who are quite conservative christian, who never post about movies, posting about this movie and even changing their profile pic, so it got me intrigued.I googled Tim Ballard and my BS meter just went to 10. He might doing things out of great intention but he really gave me Joe Rogan/bro vibes. Which makes us cringe down under. I then decided to search Tim Ballard on youtube and noticed almost all the talks were the usual conservative ones i.e. Jordan Petersen etc. I clicked your just by chance and i am so glad i did. i understand this whole issue and criticisms so much better now.

This just shows the important of sex ed for all children and adolescents. They need it and most kids have gotten no education from parents or schools. Our Whole Lives (OWL) is a great program that can be life saving for children and teens. I’m so proud that my church (uu) is offering this program to families in my community.

I really believe that a key tenant in the Mormon faith is that the contributions of men are more important than the suffering of women and children. That is why alma and his companion were saved over the women/children who were burned alive. It’s why Isaac was saved from Abraham sacrificing him last minute, but Jephthah still had to sacrifice his daughter. It’s why we erase the stories of women hurt by polygamy to protect the narrative of the “contributions” of dead prophets. And it’s why the church won’t take the real hurt that is happening to vulnerably members of the community (usually women and children) seriously when men (usually those with pp) abuse them.

1:56 Any time they try to make a societal issue black and white, I believe it’s a way to make it easily digestible for the population. It is also easier to manipulate the narrative by boiling it down to good vs bad. By doing so, I feel the lived experiences of the victims and the nuances that come with it get missed entirely. Every case is different, every abuser, and every victim is different. By trivializing this and every other issue, it prevents people from thinking further into it. It also paints a picture of whose the “bad” people are and ignores anyone who doesn’t fall into that picture.

I watched pt. 1. I'll watch this later today. I saw your channel months ago and didn't like it. I didn't watch much of it and I'm not sure what you were talking about. Anyhow, I watched a few videos over the weekend and honestly I completely relate to everything you say. I'm 67 the 22nd. I've had several experiences which completely shattered my existing beliefs at the time. Looking back I realized everything I believe is relative to my circumstances and that I could be completely wrong. Because of it I'm extremely critical. I don't take things for granted and I see how easily manipulated I can be at the hands of political and religious forces. I congratulate the two of you for becoming enlightened at such a young age. I wasted so much time being played by people that I'll never get back. Keep doing what you're doing. It's necessary and appreciated.

Lots of good information here! I love that you guys brought up that most children who are abused are abused by someone they know and trust! It makes me mad when people call taking children to drag queen storytime "grooming" because it shows they don't know what actual grooming is. Yes, the Hollywood-style child abductions by total strangers happens, but it is much rarer than being abducted by a family member or a child running away. (I did a research paper on child abductions in high school and at least back then--mid 2000's--it was something like 100 cases per year in the U.S. of abduction by a non-relative.) Since you guys brought up Elizabeth Smart in part one, it's worth mentioning that the guy who kidnapped and repeatedly raped her had been a handyman in the family's home. I imagine that is probably how he was able to get in and out of the home so quietly and knew where to find Elizabeth's bedroom. A couple minor corrections: - The senator you mentioned is named Ted Cruz, not Tim Cruz. 😊 (He's currently one of my senators.) - Your pronunciation of Caviezel is unique. So far I have heard everyone else pronounce it "Cuh-VEE-zuhl." So the last two syllables sound like "easel" and his name rhymes with "weasel," if that helps. Keep up the good work!

I’m so appreciative of the research Tanner took it upon himself to do, and I’m so here for Sam’s outrage! It’s exactly where I am as well, and by the looks of these comments Tanner was right, we’re all right there with you. The hypocrisy of Tim’s mission is so boundless. I keep thinking how he doesn’t even value his own children as complete human beings, so how can he claim to be God’s savior for all children everywhere??! As Sam was saying, people like him can’t even reckon with the existence of sexuality in children and minors, in fact, something I was reading said that he posted publicly about making an enormous payment to his daughter to uphold a deal he made with her to give her that money if she could go through all of high school without so much as kissing a boy, and commending her character for succeeding. I’m scared to know what kind of father he is, based on that snippet. It seems to me though, that he is the exact type of parent to send his kids to horrifying, abusive troubled teen industry facilities, or at least he strongly supports the systems and beliefs that make it possible for parents to do so against their child’s will, and with no impending danger existing to or from the child. The troubled teen industry is egregiously traumatizing to so, so many of those subjected to its disciplinary “therapy” programs and in some ways, is a form of trafficking in itself, with kids being tossed around from facility to (often for-profit) facility for huge chunks of or even their entire adolescence, all the while the insurance companies collect and collect. Despite many of these places providing family counseling and appealing to desperate (conservative) parents’ desire to have their perfect little family restored, they actively drive a wedge through the communication the kid has with parents once they are in the facility’s grasp. This is done so the kid can’t report abuse and ineffectiveness, so the parents don’t pull the kid out. “Your daughter will try to manipulate you at first so you will take her out and she can avoid facing her hard problems” they will say, to prime parents for situations when their child will inevitably try to report the mistreatment. Rare, monitored phone calls and intercepted mail ensure favorable things are shared about the experience, and official reports of incidents are delivered to parents and higher authorities reluctantly if at all. The whole thing is designed to keep you trapped in treatment as long as possible, no matter the cost. The list of ways it resembles trafficking is much longer then I can detail here, and the complete list of systemic problems, repetitive offenses, and individual examples of wrong doing by this industry simply can’t be known by one person, as they are so plentiful. Trafficking or not, this is legal child abuse, and it’s his people upholding it. His own church is responsible for the Utah Boys Ranch horrors. So many legal child abuse facilities right here in America, especially in Utah, as well as all the actual trafficking that happens here, and Tim says nope, let’s get people here so riled up about this teeny tiny part of the big problem that they donate a shit ton of money that I can use to gain glory at the cost of impoverished people in other countries and over compensate myself for that good work. Blood is boiling.

Thank you for making this. The irony of LDS members traveling the world to track down victims of that kind of abuse did not get by me either. I have been trying my best to like this guy but he just seems like a complete celebrity whore whose made millions from unsuspecting donors who actually think theyre helping people in desperate situations. If at all I wish they used a different word than 'party' in the US. People use the context of that word too literally to however they wish to use and ascribe what a 'party' is, to harness its benefits, or its agendas as 'power', then what the body actually exists for or what it is limited to protect or function. Too much clinginess from a society or people can have a 'party' for a very sloppy vehicle pretty quick wrapping up weird controls in the mix that goes beyond a party's function or use. Sam is definitely on the ball and with her 'read'.

Sexual abuse happens more in public school. This is my first time listening to your channel, i started with the first part of this video. I was intrigued because it seems like everyone is on the wide road, flocking to see this movie and i hate to always be a skeptic, but I had heard that some of these "heroes" were freemason's and i got wondering, and then hearing that masonic temples were offering to chip children for their safety, I do have a tendency to believe in conspiracy theories, but a lot of times , what starts off as "conspiracy" turns out to be true, so there's that. from what i gather, you two used to be Mormon? And have a particular message? I appreciate your scholarship and hope you don't get too comfortable throwing the baby out with the bathwater. I just listened to a video by Pints with Aquinas, about a former Mormon and why he left the church. It was eye opening. Organized religion isn't the problem. People are always the problem, but if anyone thinks they're better than another, they lack humility.

Again these two keep deleting my comments, Im a survivor of sex trafficking which now im able to speak out freely and unashamed. I met Tim at a time i was at my lowest and didn't want to live. I got talking to tim for an hour or so told him my story and right away he went out of his way to get me the help and support i truly needed. Started ny recover not long after which im forever grateful for. I started working with different organisations and brought traffickers and paedohiles to justice. Without Tim i wouldn't have been able to do this he didn't only save my life but those of the lives i have helped save. These two have sone nothing to fight against this issue, they could join an organisation in fighting this but they won't. Its only now there talking about it because the film was released. Why not before?

The more I hear about Tim Ballard, the more I think that he belongs in Leavenworth.
