The guy getting called a loser had attacked a female worker. Then he jumped behind the counter & grabbed a box of the cups, thinking he would run out of the store with them. That's why he got grabbed & slammed to the ground. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. (And no, this isn't a T.S. reference. The saying has been around way before she was even born.)
@@akaTheLaughingGirlI think people are commenting this because she said the guy recording was a loser for calling the other guy a loser. Since they were both there. It wasn't a great take because she just attacked the person recording for even being there and calling an actual thief the same as someone waiting in line for something silly. Is the mob mentality horrible? Yes. Bit this isn't anywhere near the dumbest thing I have seen people line up to buy/see/do. I don't agree with the consumerism but it certainly doesn't equate well.
@@akaTheLaughingGirlWell yeah but she is only arguing that their both losers? She even said he did it more efficiently. She never even gave any attention about him assaulting anyone.
@@roach1395yeah. Most of her points in this vdeo are valid but there is so much aggression and lack of understanding about some things that she’s talking about that really icked me out. He tried to steal, pushed a kid, assaulted workers. And you say “he did it more efficiently” and “you did the same thing!”
Yeah, I also had a problem with her comparing someone quietly standing in line, to someone assaulting an employee. Also, the guy didn't even get away with any cups! He wasn't efficient at all, lol! He apparently dropped his phone too and came BACK into the store to get it; that guy is DEFINITELY a loser. I've seen other RU-vidrs analyze and react to this phenomenon (and don't get me wrong I think all of this is insane too! I seriously would never). But most of the other people I've watched have mentioned that you can do whatever you want with your money, and honestly, do whatever with your time too. It is crazy to get up so early and wait for the release of a cup. But like, whatever. If you're not hurting anyone go for it... just don't mind us starting at you and being very confused 👀 lol. Where most people have said they have a problem, is with the way people are treating each other in the scuffle to buy these cups. The pushing, the assaulting an employee, that's where we should draw a line. But this lady seems to be *praising* the one action most people have an actual problem with?! I get it, if limited edition cups aren't your thing, fine. Don't partake. But to compare the relative unproblemtic behavior of standing respectfully in line, to a guy legit assaulting someone, and then choosing to praise the latter?? She seems to be shitting on the wrong people here tbh. Let people like what they like, don't mock them for liking something you don't. But DO call out the truly crazy behavior of hitting a Starbucks employee for a box of... well, ultimately nothing. 🤷♀️
Hi, born and raised American here. The camping outside of a store like the dad is very common in the US. People do that for Black Friday and for Iphones. The cultish behavior you are seeing is the cunsumerism that's been around in the US for decades. If you think this is bad, you should see how many people have lost their lives because of sales like this. I'm never going to forget, the news report of the poor pregnant lady who lost her bady, or the Wal-Mart employee who who was trampled to death on Black Friday, when I was 9. It's stuff like this is why I like staying home.
They aren't saying black Friday is still like that. They're saying this behavior is nothing new and using black Friday as an example, people would do this sh!t for sneakers, gamestop releases, I phones. Everyone is covering this stampede behavior like it's news when it's not. Frankly this is mild. Just because no one has done it in a while doesn't make it news. Thanks for the comment o.p. I was about to say the same! Edited for typos
Now I may sound like a hypocrite because I’m part of Gen Z, but I genuinely weep for the future. Seeing people tear each other to shreds over a GOD DAMN CUP is just ridiculous. I’m so grateful that my parents raised me and my brothers the way they did because seeing the way people act over LITERAL PLASTIC makes me want to stop existing.
You aint wrong, im also gen z and i find it stupid to fight over some limited edition cup that isnt even worth $100. Plus the fact that is doesnt even look that good, like at least make it look like its worth 60 dollars to even consider getting. These people were probably dropped on the head as a kid to fight over some cups, now im only joking but its sad because it is like they are. People need to learn self control
@@ajthebacon2233 I’d rather spend 100 bucks on a limited edition anime figure than some mediocre cup because it’ll actually be worth it (for me at least). I genuinely weep for this future generation and their offsprings.
Actually, Stanley has a loooooong history. Remember those thermoses your dad or grandad (or anyone you’ve seen on old timey TV that sit on their lunch break with their soup/coffee thermoses? That’s where Stanley started). They have very practical uses esp for those of us who live in regions where it gets very hot or cold. But I get what you’re saying. My 2 year old grandbaby has multiple flasks, none are Stanley because that’s just unnecessary, but getting her excited about drinking water (just like mama or gma or auntie) is a good thing to instill in a climate where the heat gets very intense. TLDR; Stanley is not the problem. The crazy obsession with “things” and “trends” set by commercialization from influencers is the problem. The problem isn’t the brand, it’s social media & lack of proper parenting. But I overall agree with your comment EDIT: the drunk elephant & Christmas lists of children though…. 100% agree! But again, it’s not the child or the brand that’s the problem
This is insane we have got down to losing teenagers we already loosing preteens and now this stanly cups 🥤 and now look kids wish for Christmas is stanly cups and and worm shoes and drunk elephant and hoodies where is teenage kids or pre teens wow we have come to worst era then us generation zoomers generation millennial and X have had best time then now teen or adults do 🤦🏻♀️
My mom would’ve laughed in my face if I’d asked her to take me somewhere at 1am, to wait outside in the cold, for ANYTHING, nevermind a cup lol She wasn’t about that wait-in-line-for-hours kinda life, so I grew up with that mentality, too. It’s sweet that these parents are willing to do this insanity for their kids’ happiness, but it’s just gonna pass this kind of wild, cultish behavior onto the next generation. It’s going to be normalized to them.
i dont think its sweet tho, its feeding into obsession and disturbing behavior. these kids lack something in the house, and instead of being concerned and asking why your kid is overly obsessed with some plain expensive, you feed into it instead of helping its enabling.
i went to kmart around a week ago, there was cups IDENTICAL to these, there were all in stock, looking like no one had even touched them. im pretty sure they were like $10 and probably did they exact same thing these ones do😭 its just crazy how fully grown adults are fighting over some pink and red metal when they could just go buy a off-branded one
I got a Stanley cup in orange because I needed a new water bottle and I wanted to paint it with blue stripes to match my school colors. Ever since bringing it with me to school so it will carry my water for me to drink, I have been asled "Is that a Stanley??" I dont understnad why a cup is so important that the first time a person speaks to me is to ask me if my water transportation device has a specific name.
Attention 'hos. If a cup is what they need to feel relevant and trendy, I'm so concerned for the future of society. I'm only half joking when I say, maybe we women need to stop taking prenatal vitamins 🤔 We've been giving birth to a completely different type of human. They are weird safe getting weirder every year. I'd suggest these particular types of people need to get some therapy. Very serious stringent therapy. 🙄
You were cracking me up😂😂😂😂As an American it’s embarrassing😩The Stanley cup has been around for years, it was for construction workers to keep coffee hot back in the day.
you’re so right being american is so embarrassing i just want to move to south korea and get plastic surgery (im pale and super slim i would pass with surgery) and would never associate with americanism again🥰
@@twothousandandchew I get wanting to move to a different country, but South Korea really? If you think America is bad, you hate it there. I feel like ur the person that just wants to go because of K dramas and K-pop.
I worked at five below during the squishmallow craze and it was a very similar experience. Masses of ppl would line up hours before we opened and flock around the bins when I opened the doors. I’ve seen children get pushed by adults over squishmallows. Ppl would crowd around me and grab them out of the box when I would attempt to put more out. It got to the point where before I would open the door I had to give everyone in line a talking to. No running no pushing, let the kids get what they want first, limit of 4/customer.
My mother worked at Toys R Us during the Tickle Me Elmo craze and that experience sounds exactly like what she went through. Her experience was the impetus to my parents refusing to do Black Friday until it went online.
A few weeks ago I was talking to this girl at my school and she started talking about how "she only had one Stanley cup" And I was like- um- I mean its a reusable cup- I dont see why you would need more than one or two. AND SHE SAID "Well my sister has 7" EXCUSE ME WHAT- WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU NEED 7. FREAKING. CUPS?! AND THE FACT YOU HAVE 7 40 DOLLAR WATER BOTTLES IS CRAZY.
As a Target worker, I was there for both the Valentines and Starbucks stanley release. For the Valentines day stanleys, many people ordered the cups online before the store even opened, some people ordering 10+ of them. The stanley girlies were STARING me down from outside as I was grabbing them off the shelves. As for the starbucks stanley release, we also had people waiting in line outside the store AT 4:00 AM IN WISCONSIN WINTER to get a chance at a cup. It was insane.
I should of thought of ordering online, but I totally missed the memo. I just like the pink color, not obsessed . Hopefully Stanley will bring back later in the year.
The target I work at shut off mobile ordering for Stanley cups that day. Only three people were able to place an order for the Starbucks stanley before it was disabled. After the third person placed an order, they shut it off completely.
@@kittychang332 I'm hearing rumors that due to the pandemonium over the past few days over the Stanley cups, Target won't be participating anymore. I hope that that's true.
That's insane. My husband gave me a hot/cold reusable cup with a built in phone charger, and it was free 😂 Still wouldn't run into a store like a mad woman for a pink ass cup 😂
That happened with that stupid prime drink here in the UK. It was hard to get at first, so you had grown-arse adults fighting over bottles in the shops for their kids. Then kids beating the crap out of each other at school to steal their drink 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
I was at target with my mom and we took a shortcut to the cups. We didn't realize there was at least 15 people running towards us. We were just checking out the cups because we wanted to get one for my sisters birthday . Then suddenly we hear a bunch of loud footsteps . We looked and we decided to just take a cup and continue shopping. When I looked back I saw people fighting for the cups. It was just shameful.
Seriously, you're lucky you didn't get slapped. These people ARE that crazy: punching and slapping each other to get their hands on a stinking metal mug?! The world has lost its mind.
I just got a Stanley cup today from my grandma that I didn’t even ask for but I’m very grateful for it. I would never get another one. Can you believe how much people obsess over a Stanley cup
I feel like this is what happens when not enough people can actually afford homes. People are stressed out and despondent, so they start filling the void with movable asset mania and decorate a giant cup (a semi useful thing that still confers status because it is ostentatious and excessive in its potential utility to an admirably cringe degree) the way you might a doll house or a model plane if you owned an actual house.

It’s not even about the actual cup, it’s peer pressure on kids to fit in. Kids don’t want to be targets for bullying. So when it’s “cool” to have something and every other kid has it, they feel like their entire social life is as stake if they don’t have one too.
I don’t see a lot of kids caring to much about the cups. they don’t wanna hop on this trend, it’s more seen quirky and boring if you have these cups cause everyone knows they ain’t all that
I wondered how many loser adults were in line worried their kids would be losers without a damn cup 😅 (when in reality it's them projecting shit onto kids who likely could care less-originally). Imagine that being easier than just teaching your own kids not to bully/fall into peer pressure.. Wild.
South Park been predicting history since 1998. People have been doing this for decades with trends. Like cabbage patch dolls, tickle me Elmo, beanie babies, gaming consoles. What’s crazy is this is literally just a cup. 😂
I know a lot of people are thinking of the hockey Stanley Cup. As a Las Vegas native, we have the Golden Knights. Read to cheer yourself up. Our hockey team is apparently going to be adopting a golden (lol) lab soon, and training him for the next year and a half or so taking him to their offices and games to even meet fans. He’s being raised to be a service dog for a vet or disabled first responder, it’s in collab with a charity. How sweet is that?! Hope someone smiled reading this ❤
Me and my husband watched that South Park episode and laughed at how accurate it was. Social media is destroying people’s lives. I’ve never even heard of this cup until now. People need to find other “things” to make them happy. It’s so ridiculous!
what don’t you understand. people collect most people have their own special interest or niche. as non smart that i think it is i don’t think we should bash girls and women for everything they enjoy 🤷🏼♀️
I think the popularity catapulted when THAT video went viral. A person had a car accident, the front portion was Wrecked and half burnt yet the Stanley cup inside their car was well preserved. they shook the cup in the video and the ice inside it was still there. After that the owner or CEO made a response video, giving his prayers and claiming that this once only will they pay for all the damages for that particular customer. then the craze slowed snow balled from that.
I used to work at Target a couple of weeks ago. I was so scared what would happen that I told my boss to not sell these limited edition cups, but she did anyways. And apparently I was right, because people were lining up outside at 2 IN THE MORNING IN THE FREEZING COLD TO GET THESE. SOME WERE EVEN BANGING ON THE WINDOWS AND DOORS AND WE HAD TO SEND EMPLOYEES OUT THERE TO STOP PEOPLE. but when it was opening time it was an absolute nightmare because all of my co-workers were getting pushed to the ground by stampedes of middle aged women for some plastic containers. I left my job after that because I couldn't stand the Stanley collectors. absolute insanity.
i actually understand the pouch for the stanley cup, because it's so big, most bags are too small for it and it can't be tipped because of the open straw design! i'd go as far as calling it smart actually! it's so clever to engineer a bag strap and mini pocket to a water bottle, because it's nice to stay hydrated and some people need a huge bottle to stay hydrated! plus, they are stylish (that doesn't excuse people collecting one for every outfit though, there are versatile colours if you really want your bottle to match outfits.)!
This has been going on for decades. I remember back in the early 80's moms throwing fist over the last cabbage patch dolls on the shelves during the Christmas season when they were NOWHERE to be found. Brand new ones were being advertised in the newspapers (no internet yet) for THOUSANDS!
I own a straw protector (not for a Stanley, just for my various reusable straws) because occasionally in the warmer months we get bugs in the house and so we use that to keep them out of our drinks We also have these little cup covers we made out of like... some packing material that came with something we ordered online to cover the entire cup, because I've gone to take a drink of coffee only to find a dead gnat floating in my drink. So they do have purposes!! They can be handy! I don't get the Stanley craze though...
Ever had a yellow jacket try to crawl through your straw? I saw one try to do that to my drink once. I refused to eat outside during the summer months since.
i agree with majority of what you’re saying aside from the boot thing, boots for cups have been around before the stanley craze, it just prevents it from denting and scratching upon a fall to the ground or a scenario like that.
See, that's why I really don't get it. Stanley has been around for 110 years, and where popular with trade workers, campers, hiker, etc. Whoever is on marketing now is really hitting it out of the park using fomo, but people need to relax. Stanley, as a company, isn't going anywhere.
@@ohno4861 Its the same CEO that used to work for Crocs when they blew up in popularity. After learning its the same guy as CEO, everything made sense.
I literally hadn't even heard of these cups till last week 🤦🏻♀️😂 what even are they? Is it just some ugly chunky thermal cup? You buy those for like £2 in shops 🤦🏻♀️ the hell?! Where did all the braincells go?!!! Humanity is doomed 🤦🏻♀️
Yeah I don’t know what makes these different from the yeti cups that I think were only different because they actually kept the ice cold all day. Imagine having a drink that takes you all day to finish? I don’t have that life my ice doesn’t actually melt because I drink my drinks
They got popular bc some person's car caught on fire and their stanley was still perfectly intact and kept the ice. Like she shook it and you could hear the ice rattling. So they blew up for that reason, but I do not understand why people feel the need to hoard these if they're that durable ??
Just found out about Stanley cups literally 2 days ago.... and now I know way too much about them. 😂 I'll go to 5 below and get cuter durable to go cups 😂
I’m convinced people are quite literally being programmed/brainwashed. Because the crazy responses people are having over products is out of proportion.
They've made Thermos (the green factory worker ones) and I'm sure these new deals are good quality, but everyone else makes these too. TikTok is responsible for this lunacy thought. The hype attracts Hypebeasts/hypebaes who just wanna resell the stuff at a huge markup.
Me and my friend group were just talking about this the other night! Its so insane. They look exactly like any other tumbler with a handle, theres nothing unique or special about them?? I will say though depending on where you live you need those straw covers lol. I just have a cheap tumbler from amazon for my drinks during the summer, but its common to stay outside most of the time during summer here and bugs WILL go into your straw!
All of this is just reminding me of a black friday I was forced to work on when I worked for a certain big blue company. That was the most horrifying experience I'd ever had, so seeing it happen over something as trivial as a cup is so disheartening.
I’m sure the cups are good for people who will actually use them. For people who work outside. Not so some TikTok bimbo can take pics/videos of an inanimate object for views. Guaranteed these cups will end up in a landfill or a basement once the next TikTok trend comes around. I also guarantee they will never even use them for their intended purpose
I mean it really isn't that overpriced for what you're playing for. 45 bucks for an insulated cup that keeps beverages at the proper temperature for hours on hours and is extremely durable and will be able to be used for most likely 10+ years without any problems.
@@gtgtgtgtgt123456789 Fair, I bought a Yeti for $38 the other day. I know it’s the only one I’ll need. But I feel like $45 is probably a 300% (or more) markup from what it actually costs to manufacture and distribute them. Same with Yeti honestly. But we aren’t out here buying 15 of them at almost 50 bucks a piece to match our outfits lol
To be fair if you have a life where you leave the house every once in a while you really need to have 2 cups so that one can be washed and dried while you use the other one. But having a cabinet full of reusable is stupid and wasteful
I got a Stanley for Christmas. I basically live under a rock when it comes to social media and knew nothing about them until an radio show was taking about them and how crazy people were to get them before Christmas. It is a nice gauge to know how much water I’m actually drinking in a day and at least finish it fully once.
I know SO MANY people that have multiple colors of Stanley's to match their outfits and it actually infuriates me. I have ONE Stanley and that's enough for me. Also going completely ferral OVER A DAMN CUP?? what is life...
Stanley cups were originally for outdoorsy types who would put things like soup or coffee in them. I used to work at a camping shop and the cups we had were a very utilitarian shade of green, and I don't recall ever ringing one up because they were so expensive and there were cheaper options that did the same thing. This is overconsumption at its worst and I hate that the company is playing into it so much
Literally, the only accessories that even seem moderately okay are the strap and the straw cap - never used the straw cap before, but the strap has been a LIFESAVER for me since I usually misplace my water bottle and so many other objects if they're not on me. Otherwise, it's honestly ridiculous - who the hell wants an actual bowl surrounding their bottle? How the hell do you drink out of that lion's name of a bottle?

If the cup makes people happy and want to get accessories, i think that’s fine but it’s just when the obsession comes with it by people waiting in line for it and just frothing at the mouth to have one because it’s trendy. We all know what it’s like to want to be a part of a trend, it’s just when it’s harming other people because of mob mentality is when it goes too far for me.
deadass, i was at school and seen a table with about 8 backpacks, nobody was at the table they just left their stuff there, and for every backpack there HAD to be a stanley cup there too, every single one of them had a stanley.
Life hack, get a simple modern cup instead. They’re the same size, come in honestly way cooler colors, like they had my favorite color and not many items like bottles do, they come with two straws, they’re sleeker, and they’re cheaper! My sister got me and my mom one each and it’s my favorite thing, I take it everywhere and it holds ice so well, like I’ve had it sit overnight with ice just to test it and it’s still been there the next day, cannot say the same for moms Stanley.
Wtf is wrong with people… who in the world thinks it’s okay to get up super early to wait in a huge line in the freezing cold for a CUP…. That is stupidity imo.
Pretty sure they were regularly priced cups from Stanley at the stores. I think they are normally $45. The $200 is probably from one of the people who bought multiples or the loser who stole one. They put them on eBay and Facebook and try and make a profit.
@@Creatorsan Bet you could get a very similar cup with the same qualities as a Stanley on Shein/ Temu (I personally don't shop on these sites tho because of cancelable reasons)

The whole Stanley cup craze is insane. Why would anyone even want one? I get that some people might find it pretty, but no way that many people actually buy them for their looks or practicality. They’re bulky and ugly, and they leak like crazy.
I have seen other videos where the people are complaining about once they have liquids in the Stanley Cup it weighs even more. I can find better things to spend my money on and she’s right this craze over these cups will die out fast.
I think the one with the daughter is kinda cute, like having a parent that will stay up all night and brave the cold just to spend time with you and buy something silly just for fun is super rare and sweet.
This is like that episode of The Simpsons where the new Malibu Stacy dolls came out, and all of the girls lost their damn minds.. running through the store like the stampede that killed Mufasa 😂
The reason this cup went viral is cause someone’s car burnt down and the only thing left standing was a pink Stanley cup with the ice still in it in tact lol, I feel like this was a pr event though and it worked 😂
I work at Target starbucks. I work that day. It was terrible. Got through the whole day without incident except for one lady who freaked out because she didn't get a cup, she claimed she worked at Target in Daytona and drove all the way to my city to get one, but to no avail. She had a slight freak out right there at the Starbucks counter. During her rant, she told the manager where she worked and how we cheated her out of a cup the way we sold them. As soon as she left, the manager called the Target she worked at and ratted her out. That was funnier than watching all of these losers stampede for this cup. Then what was crazier was hearing the manager compare her to Leslie Jones.
One thing I can get behind is the straw protectors. I was sleeping at my parents one night and had my cup (just a normal Starbucks tumbler I've had for years) on my bedside. When I took a drink in the morning, an earwig crawled into my straw that night, and I drank it the next morning. Thankfully, I spit in the water out when I realized something was in my mouth and it wasn't water. 😂
I'm sorry but your comment made me giggle. I can imagine that happening and it being somewhat traumatizing. Lol. Idk what an earwig is but a bug is a bug. 🤢
Bro these lady's are making a line at 4 a.m for some dam cups!!!!! I mean if it was black Friday I'd get it but for a cup????? Like it's not even that pretty! They be like kids who want a new toy every day just like they want a new color for every outfit!!
Honestly it’s pretty sad, disgusting, ridiculous, and just mind blowing how people act these days. Self awareness is out the window and foolishness and gluttony are now 90% of peoples character.
Okay i might be the minority here, but i actually think the accessories make sense. I have a few reusable cups and bottles and I genuinely love the designs on them, so a cover that protects their designs fits right up my alley. On the other hand the straps are very commonly used by a lot of people in Asia. It’s just a good hands-free way to carry your reusable cups/bottles while those straw caps just protects general dirt/bacteria from the air while you transit and walk about town. I get that the hype around the valentines’ day Stanley cup is ridiculous but I do appreciate that accessories like these are being made for those always on-the-go. Edit: Also i just thought about this, perhaps the silicon base is not only to protect the cup but also adds more grip so it doesn’t slip from your table (or any other surfaces that easily). The snack bowl would be great for camping trips or long car rides, especially if you have a cup holder in between passengers.
I think the silicone boot is fairly logical. With insulated bottles, the vacuum seal that keeps it insulated can be ruined if you get a dent big enough. So keeping something to protect the most easy to damage part is a good way of ensuring the life span of it.
I get vids and posts about this products all over my feed. Is this overpriced cup at least leak free? I have a bunch of insulated coffee cups at home but all of them leak or don't keep the drink warm/cold enough. I just want to know if it is worth the money
@@ole1935 they are unfortunately not leak-free. They don’t leak as easily as some of my other Starbucks tumbler, but the one that sold me on the Stanley cup was just how great it was at keeping my drinks cold. I was comparing it to my other thermal cup, the Stanley one could keep my drink cold for almost 2 whole days.
Yeah I'm one of those silicone boot owners and it's exactly what you said. Prevents dents and scratches and makes it less slippery no matter the table surface. I also got a strap for my mom's because she was going to use it on a retreat and it makes it easier for her to carry since she won't be bringing a bag everywhere.
wym by TBEYRE JUST CUPS. don’t we need cups?? acting like it’s the most impractical thing to collect as if we don’t need water. and i don’t even own one or have i ever thought of it. i just don’t believe in bashing females for everything they enjoy
@twothousandandchew yeah but there is nothing innovative about these cups, many more like these have been on the market for years, probably even better ones
Imagine being this enthusiastic to organize & feed the homeless year round; Forming logistics to end poverty here in our backyards, in America... around the world
I'm a Gen Xer and I can remember when having a Swatch/Coke watch was all the rage. Yes, I begged and begged my parents for one and finally got one. And when Cabbage Patch kids first came out, it was bedlam in some states, then when Tickle Me Elmo came out, everyone went bat-shit crazy over them and would do anything to get them, even stral or hurt other people. Every generation is getting crazier and crazier over "trends" that will only last for a few months.
Some of the accessories for the cups are cute though. Lots of people decorate their reusable bottles with stickers, so having a straw cover in a cute shape or adding a charm is just something fun. It's absolutely not necessary, but there's nothing wrong with liking cute things and personalizing your stuff. The actual problem to be annoyed with is the HUNDREDS of cups for 1 person; it defeats the purpose of a reusable cup---and the resellers selling for 3x the price are awful too.
My grandparents were industrial workers and they had Stanley thermoses when I was a kid to keep their coffee hot. They work really well and can be hit by a Mack truck and survive. I even bonked a cousin or two with them, very sturdy, no dents. Stanley is a great brand, no one denies that, but what in the actual fck are we as a society doing with ourselves?? When did we decide success means fighting a hoard for the chance to purchase a metal cups?? Consumerism is out of control.
I have my dad’s Stanley thermos he passed away a couple years ago in his 70s and I grabbed his thermos that he used to take to work every day. I don’t think it works as well as it used to for insulation, but otherwise it’s held up great over his lifetime
The silicone slip on the bottom I assume is because it’s so freaking heavy when it’s full of water when you set it down you’ll break your desk in half or worse dent your Stanley cup so the slip makes it quiet and softens the blow😂
I watched a teacher talk about Stanley cups and she asked parents to please get their kids one of those Silicone slips. The sound the bottle makes hitting the floor, table and etc is very loud and gets annoying when teachers have to hear the sound over and over again. Even none Stanley cups can use one because the sound when these types of cups hit any hard surfaces is very painful to the ears sometimes.
Yeah, a good bottle should be able to take some abuse. My jug only got a dent when it fell off my bike when I ran over a pothole at speed while it was full. If your cup dents after simply setting it down, your cup is garbage
As a hockey fan, the Stanley Cup means something else to me. Lol My mom stood in line and raced through a store 40 yrs ago to get my sister and I cabbage patch dolls, but not for a cup. I have also gone above and beyond for my daughter with Miley Cyrus concert tickets when she was still Hannah Montana. I get doing a lot for your kids.
I'm not going to villainize that Dad bc he just wanted to treat his daughter to something nice. My issue is that it isn't the smartest parenting move to camp out in a Target parking lot at one am with a young child. Putting aside the concern of weird strangers, the kid could get sick from being outside in the cold for so long, or hurt in the process of getting the stupid cup.
@callmecharlie99 I agree. My mom didn't drag my sister with her to fight the crowd. 1) the gift was a surprise, and 2) she could've gotten hurt with all the pushing and shoving.
@callmecharlie99 no, Charlie, it's all good 🙂. I knew what u meant. Ur right. A freezing cold parking lot full of hyped up strangers in the middle of the night is no place for a kid. The reason I only mentioned my sis not going and not myself is because I was 16 lol Yes, a cabbage patch doll was for a 16-year-old lol my sister drew on hers, and let it get yucky, but I still have mine somewhere. 😀 in case anyone is wondering, he's the bald one and his name is Bentley lol
I am someone who has two reusable cups, I have two so I can keep them clean and still use the specific type of cup(I just really like the style idk my brain is weird). I can not even begin to comprehend how utterly bizarre these people rushing a target for a cup.
i have a few but they’re all different kinds and a lot of them were gifted to me or given to me by my company or apartment. i have like 2 reusable wine cups, like 3 different branded water bottles in 3 different sizes, and 2 small tumblers (for tea). I’ve only bought 2 out of the ones i own also, it’s more for practicality or if i want to use the 64 oz water bottle for camping or like the smaller one for travel or for work it’s very handy. i cannot imagine buying like 15+ cups just to have all the different colors? i work with someone like this and i do not understand it personally. it just screams of consumerism. the point of the cup is to be reusable lol
I have 2 because I got myself one and my brother also got me one for Christmas but there just pretty cheap plastic water bottles with different desighns (there both dnd themed lol)
The silicone boot is to keep the cup safe and to also muffle the loud sound it makes when hitting a hard surface. I watched a video recently of a teacher asking parents to buy their kids a boot because the sound causes headaches. Multiple students have these cups and they pick them up and slam them down all day. The boot is a good thing for none Stanley cups too. The charms are so people can tell who's cup is whos. Since so many people have them its a good way for people to tell them apart. The straw topper is another item used by many(not only Stanley fans) The topper keeps dirt and debris out of the straws when you aren't drinking. Lots of people go outside with their reusable cups and it's easier for bugs and etc to enter through the straw while outside. These three items are very good ideas for anyone who has a cup they use and take with them often.
It’s the fact only like 1% of people buying more than two cups plan to keep them all. Most are just buying them up to resell them at 10x the price (NOT an exaggeration). Truly sad what this world has come to.
I never understood and will never understand the craze over stanley cups. There are so many that are like them that fulfill the same purpose. It’s a cup lmao. Is it so cool because it’s called Stanley? It’s so sad to see we’ve gotten to a point where people will risk their health for a cup with a logo. And that kid has lost precious sleep for her brain and physical development. Time spent together is enduring, but when it’s done in a healthy way
Honestly if you want a cute bottle for a cheaper price, i highly recommend just buying any nice leakproof reusable cup/ bottle and personalising it with as many cute stickers as you'd like. That's what i do to stay aesthetic, on a budget. I still spend money on luxury items here and there, but honestly speaking, i can live without a mountain pile of Chanel purses.
The problem is a lot of these stainless steel cups have lead in them. Not in the portion you drink from but underneath between the layers and if it starts to leak you will be drinking lead. I don’t know about the Stanley Cup specifically but if you’re getting cheap knockoffs from Timu you’re probably drinking lead
What’s crazy is Stanley has existed for roughly 100 years. Stanley as a company has increased in value 1000% in the past year. The Internet can do bizarre things. The Stanley cups should be in those glass cases that can only be opened by employees.
There was a similar incident, years ago, for Cabbage Patch Kids dolls. I remember watching the news where a store opened, a man ran to the display and simply grabbed the boxes and tossed them to his partner.
I checked out the resale apps on the same day, and people had posted them for sale WHILE STILL IN THEIR CAR. AT STOP LIGHTS.. IN THE TARGET PARKING LOT. It's lunacy.
Tbh i like the cup strap LOL. I hate carrying cups around when im out and I dont like how bulky it is when you put it in a backpack. Seems perfect for shopping or walking around
The ONLY thing I can kinda agree with is the straw topper, it helps protect against coughs or sneezes (from other people) & especially bugs from getting in...but they are a bit of a hassle as they kinda suction themselves to your straw after a while
Lol I’ve done this with bath body works the sales on Black Friday are just to good to pass on and I don’t regret it at all but a cup that ain’t even the best of the best and regular price???😭😭😭
