People Are Throwing Their Stanley Cups Away ALREADY… 

I think her "throwing them away" is for drama since it's a sponsored. But there's people who would literal throw away perfectly good cups for a stupid trend. Just donate the cups to charity, a shelter, school or just something! Donate the damn things don't throw it away!

Kids are bullying other students and ADULTS cause they don’t have Stanley’s, now they’re gonna spend 70-120 dollars for ANOTHER bottle that looks the exact same bro…not to mention any cheap 1 dollar bottle is fine and Stanley’s aren’t even made for backpacks.

I can explain this problem with the Dr Seuss book “The Sneeches” Everyone wants a star on their belly until everyone has a star on their belly, then everyone wants NO star on their belly. And it continues until everyone runs out of money and the only ones benefiting are the cup companies.

Stanley has a warranty on their cups. If the handle breaks, then just send it back for a replacement. What is the matter with people these days?

I can’t believe there are actually people who literally think to themselves, “Oh, that’s the new trending cup? Ooh! Someone at work threw away a perfectly fine steel mug because the lid was lost. I picked it out of the trash, washed it WELL, and put it in my locker. It's been my work coffee cup ever since.

Handle snapping off is probably why the Yeti doesn't have one. Given the weight it has to carry, getting a strong enough weld without compromising the vacuum inside it probably not going to happen unless they use some other material or cast it whole in some way. We have to remember that this keeps things cold because the cup is made hollow and the air is pumped out to create a vacuum. The same way that a thermos operates except made as a cup. What people are saying is that the hole at the bottom where the air is pumped out is then welded shut with the lead (which makes sense but I myself haven't verified this). So unless the cup cracks on the inside layer, there isn't any real way to get in contact with the lead. And if it cracks on the inside, the vacuum is lost, it won't keep cold and liquid will seep inside the hollowness - making it non-functional anyway.

In my country the Frank Green cups are super trending right now (even if it’s $75 -$100). And the people in my class literally just bully eachother if they have a smaller Frank Green. I literally saw a girl grab someone else’s Frank Green, drawing on it, and then telling everyone so they could bully her. IT’S A CUP, CALM DOWN.

This all reminds me of the Dr. Suess story about the Star-Bellied Sneetches and the Starless Sneetches, and how the starless ones paid some guy money to get stars, and the star bellied ones paid the same guy to remove their stars, and then it flip flopped back and forth until everyone forgot who was what at the beginning of the story.

The water bottle my mom got from her work at a company event where they handed out “swag bags” is genuinely the best bottle I’ve ever had. It keeps shit freezing cold literal still ice in it for multiple days and didn’t get warm in the slightest inside despite sitting in the sun at the beach all day. It doesn’t have a straw n i spill on myself often but it never leaks n is weirdly skinny n tall so it fits in the cup holder great ✌️

The word "reusable" was lost along the way. I reuse one normalest reusable cup I got from store. This is the way. These people throwing "reusables" away simply are not raised to be responsible and sustainable.

The moment when I bought my dream Stanley Cup, I already bought a thing that you put on the hole of where you put the straw so it doesn't leak or spill and I also got a cute flower cap for the straw so water doesn't come out of it and I bought one last thing which is a cover for it and it comes with straps so I can carry it every where with me and all of those accessories cost only 10 dollars

I bought a pair of Hydroflasks at Costco for around $15. They’re good, I like them, they get liquid into my mouth.

I honestly hate simplicity so much that when I got my Stanley for $15 on eBay, I immediately covered it in stickers from Hot Topic and now it looks awesome and everyone says I ruined it but you can just peel the stickers off. It’s not like they’re permanent but now there’s cute mushroom and skull stickers on it also, he’s another thing. Mine has a crack in the lid and a little bit of leaking that it has doesn’t bother me because a little bit of water accumulates in the top and it’s fine. I got a cheap cup as a present from a friend and 10 years later I'm still carrying this thing everywhere I go. And boy does it show. I don't care it still does it's job and every time I use it it reminds me of my friend. Hydrates the soul. A couple years ago my sister bought me an Owala (think that’s the way it’s spelled, never paid much attention) for our birthday (we share the same day). She’s a nurse and she said it’s the best cup out of all the ones the floor nurses have all bought and tried, that was enough endorsement for me! Had the same cup for 3 years, and I love it. My daughters now both have one and they love theirs. My oldest did get a Stanley last year from her soccer coach, but still mainly uses her Owala as her first choice. I am sure as long as there isn’t anything harmful in the cup you use it is perfectly fine and almost the same as any other cup. The whole point in using these cups is to reduce waste. If you must change brands please don’t throw away your other good used cups and instead donate them to shelters and food banks.

Stanley cups and most vacuum insulated cups are made the same way. 1 cup is put inside of another, the bottom cup has a hole in the middle, a vacuum is created between the 2 cups and the hole in the bottom cup is soldered closed with a lead plug, then a protective cover is placed over it. The lead plug is on the outside bottom of the 2nd cup and cannot come into contact with anything in the cup. I've noticed that most of the people are testing the same spot, the middle of the bottom cup. They are prying off the protective cover and testing the plug.

now i'm imagining a story of a kid getting bullied relentlessly because they didn't have a stanley, finally caving and buying one over the weekend, then coming back to school and realizing that the trend is already over...

A water bottle is just a damn water bottle… it has one, maybe two jobs. Hold water/liquid and ice, and keep it cold/hot.

I've been using the same stainless steel insulated thermos for the last 10 years 💀. The thermos itself is even older than that because I took it from my brother since he had two. Keeps my cold liquids cold, and my hot liquids hot for up to 10 hours (I work 12 hour shifts). Can fit in my truck and car horlders easy and big enough to hold soups! The all I've replaced are my lids since the company allows you to buy them separately. The thermos is only $25.00 CAD. I got my money's worth and so MUCH MORE. I'll never understand following trends, when I tried as a kid due to pressure it was frustrating. I couldn't even imagine doing it now because its simply wasteful, impractical and EXHAUSTING.

The only thing I have to say is that some of us really cannot drink water from the tap because it is not drinkable. No matter how much you try to filter or boil it still comes out disgusting or downright unsafe in some areas.

I still find it insane what people get so worked up today over what people got worked up over in the past. Decades ago, we worried about real issues, like the civil rights of less fortunate and lower class people, and the fragil tension in Germany before the wall came down. Now, people are having a frenzy over a freaking cup.

I have a handful of reusable water bottles, but all for different things. When I go to conventions, I bring a small one that fits in a backpack with the rest of our stuff that our cosplay/fursuit handlers carry, I've got a bottle that I travel with when I go to visit my family, I've got my gym water bottle, and then I've got my daily water bottle that I take with me everywhere else and chill with at home. I have kidney disease, so I prioritize drinking a lot of water that's really the only reason I have so many. But outside of the couple other water bottles I use for different things, nobody needs 20 of the exact same type of water bottle/travel mug, that's just absolutely ridiculous.

On my bus today I saw at least 3 people with the Stanley and almost 8 people with the other cup. This is getting out of hand

I have a Stanley, and I *REALLY* like it. I honestly don't care if it's out of trend, it hydrates me, and I'm keeping it. So I don't give a shit unless there's a callback, and if I get led poisoning, the sooner the better.

13:18 the cups cost $40-$45 in the US, with the exception of some LE colors. I paid $10 for my water cup on Amazon. It came with two lids, and keeps ice for two days. It's holding up well. And, yes, where I live I do need an insulated cup or I'll be drinking hot 🔥 water. Going without water isn't an option and I cannot drink it hot.

Let me just stand up for the last girl, I have well water which can have extreme amounts of chemicals in it that your own home filters cannot filter properly. Same reason people with wells have to get those filter shower heads bc it makes their hair and scalp filled with deposits and calcium. So for instance I have very hard water so I can't drink my tap water, and a Brita filter does all it can and I do sometimes use it when I'm out of bottled water but I prefer bottled water to drink too avoid the chemicals!
