As a Protestant being pulled to the Catholic faith I watch everything I can find on the faith. This interview was wonderful!! I find him so likable and honest. I love that the Bishop is close to me as well! I’m only an hour away from his East Texas home. ❤️
With an addo: JP II kissing Al Quran, was is a good public statement of Faith and of Truth? And as we know, He also missed the Cardinal Carrick, it was all under His very nose. We have to pray for all. God bless.
Bishop Strickland is a True Shepherd. A True Shepherd speaks the Truth and is not afraid to show the flock about falsehoods that is prevalent in our modern society. It is painful that he is being removed as a Shepherd. To love is not just to be kind and embrace what is clearly wrongdoing especially secularism but to turn away from our sinful ways though how painful the message maybe. That is true love. The message of progressing for the sake of progressing is wrong. As Bishop Strickland says look to Christ and his message and not to bracket his teachings. Amen.
Bishop Strickland came and gave a talk for a fundraiser for a tiny Catholic school that employs me. It meant so much to have such a fervent and unapologetic bishop give up his time to visit us. He truly is one we need more of today.

Speaking from the future. "Bishop Strickland was asked to resign on Thursday, which he refused to do, according to Vatican News. Francis later made the decision to remove the bishop and appoint the bishop of Austin, . . ."
This bishop speaks like a saint. No convoluted, ambiguous talk. Just the Sacraments, the centrality of Christ and the infinite love of God. “You need the Eucharist and Confession to be healed”, “Always keep Christ at the centre”. “Pray for the repentance of those who need Christ (including your enemies)”. And above all, “God loves you more than you could ever imagine” (I’m paraphrasing). Very simple, yet very deep. And so beautiful. Such is our faith. What a gift to his diocese and to the Church. A true apostle of Christ. God bless him. And you, Matt, for bringing him to us 🙏
His mother must have the "down to earth" mentality of her older Australian generation. Hence, he is well "grounded" in faith as a Catholic Bishop. Praise & glory to God!

Bishop Strickland is a true pastor. Humble and respectable. I will pray for him. Padre Pio was also persecuted during his ministry, and finished being a saint!!! Bishop Strickland is a saint.
After all the arrogance i have witnessed and experienced from certain Catholic bishops this man's humility and loyalty to Christ, the true vicar, is refreshing and liberating
I wanted to hear Bishop Strickland because of Father Altman, who I thought and still think is a holy man. Bishop Strickland has humility, intelligence and courage. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing him.
Hilaire Belloc puts it succinctly, "There is no such thing as a religion called "Christianity"_there never has been such a religion. There is and always has been the Church, and various heresies proceeding from a rejection of some of the Church's doctrines by men who still desire to retain the rest of her teaching and morals. But there never has been and never can be or will be a general Christian religion professed by men who all accept some central important doctrines, while agreeing to differ about others. There has always been, from the beginning, and will always be, the Church, and sundry heresies either doomed to decay or grow into a separate religion. Of a common Christianity there has never been and never can be a definition, for it has never existed. There is no essential doctrine such that if we can agree upon it we can differ about the rest: as for instance, to accept immortality but deny the Trinity. A man will call himself a Christian though he denies the unity of the Christian Church; he will call himself a Christian though he denies the presence of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament; he will cheerfully call himself a Christian though he denies the Incarnation. No; the quarrel is between the Church and the anti-Church_the Church of God and anti-God_the Church of Christ and anti-Christ." Refusing the Church is refusing Christ. Kyrie eleison.
With respect and all the gentleness I can muster, Tim, let me suggest to you what Sonia below is trying to convey with her quote: that Jesus established--personally, while alive upon the earth--one living Church, founded upon one living man, Peter, and that he explicitly promised us that the gates of hell would never prevail against it no matter how dire things might look to our eyes at any given time. That is Christ's promise, not ours. The purpose of that Church is twofold: to provide the Sacraments--vessels of God's grace--to all true believers to aid them in their spiritual journey, and to provide the infallible truth about Jesus to the world so that they will not be turned aside by false teachers, such as themselves. The Church didn't come from the Bible, the Church came from the living Christ, and has been passed down to us through an unbroken succession of living apostles--all imperfect men, like Peter himself. The books of the Bible came from the Church, which looked at all the writings circulating throughout the world purporting to be accurate depictions of history and true theological teachings regarding Jesus. From that long list they derived the canon of Holy Scripture--of completely true texts--as it stands today. There was never a claim that Scripture contained all truth, or even every truth about Jesus--only that what was there was true. It was and still is, always the function of the living Church, and not the Bible (although the Church uses the Bible as an infallible source of guidance, the way a captain uses a map), to define, maintain, and zealously guard the truth. (Note that Jesus left us no writings, which he surely would have if that was the mode of transmission he had intended.) The upshot of all of this is that the true, complete Jesus Christ is only to be found in one place: his beloved bride, the (Catholic) Church. To believe anything contrary to authentic Church teaching is to believe, often unwittingly but nonetheless as a matter of fact, in a false, truncated, incomplete Jesus...a false god, who has no power to save. I tell you this not to mock or criticize, because I believe you're an honest man who wants to know Jesus in his fullness, whereas history has gotten in the way of that; I tell you this to encourage you and strengthen you, in the hope that you will rejoin Christ's Church--the Catholic Church--the Church that (I'm guessing here) your ancestors abandoned, and reunite yourself with the living Son of God, who is to be found, not in your imagination, nor even in Scripture (PLEASE see John 5:39-40), but only in the Holy Eucharist of the Mass. This is what Jesus himself commanded when he said that unless you eat his flesh you have no life in you. You will either believe him and listen to him or you won't. I consider you, sincerely, my brother in spirit, and look forward to the day when I can call you, and all others like you, my brother in fact. May that be God's will.
I am a Catholic convert from an evangelical background. I am so happy to hear this bishop speak truth and life to his flock. Satan doesn't want the truth raised up in the church . I'm very concerned that today the Pope has decided to terminate Bishop Strickland's position as a Bishop within the Church. Bishop Strickland, Jesus sees your heart and blesses your speaking His truth to His children. Don't be discouraged and don't give up speaking Christ's truth.....it is desperately needed in a world lost in sin. I ask God to bless you and your ministry abundantly. You are a blessing to more souls than you know. Your humility and frankness in addressing the questions shows your courage and willingness to be honest and open with all concerned.

@@petrichor5294 Man why the negativity? If Pope Francis does or does not, what can we do about it? Do as the good Bishop said put your faith in Christ and don't worry about other stuff that you can't know or change... Matthew 6: 31-34 "Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ For it is the Gentiles who strive for all these things; and indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. *“So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today’s trouble is enough for today."*

Three years ago my daughter and her family moved to the Tyler Texas area, because of Bishop Strickland. I go down to Texas every since in winter time from Canada. I’m a Protestant and looking in to the Catholic Church. I want to find the place I grow closer to Jesus! I have a disabled child and my serving the Lord looks very different and it’s hard to find a physical church this way. A man like this gives me hope! A pure heart for Jesus! Adult convert to the Catholic Faith from Protestantism here. I love the sacraments, the saints, the tradition of prayer, and above all the apostolic succession and the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. I pray for you!
This is my first time hearing Bishop Strickland. If this was radio and I didn't know it was Catholic, I would think he was an evangelist from the Paul Washer camp of Protestantism (where I currently reside in my faith). His so called "simple" messages are for everyone, regardless of walk, in a world complicated by evil. They are simply exhorting, convicting, clear and practical. How he packs all that into memorable phrases I can understand and embrace is genius. You Catholics keep blowing my mind, I'm going to have to get a new one:-)

So wonderful bishop and great advice I love as a German woman: "Keep studying, keep learning, pray, especially, spent time in prayer before Him in the blessed sacramant. He really calls us to that...seeking much deeply" and "We especially have to pray for Francis."
What a wise and Christ centered Bishop! Salvation was and is the only key to any healing and repair whether of an individual or social life! Without focusing on that we are only social workers instead of God's workers and children!

I believe the Holy Spirit led me here. I truly needed this. Bishop Strickland, you have been in my daily prayers for awhile, and that will certainly continue. Thank you for your compassionate leadership. God bless you!
🙌🙌 beautiful program. I admire Bishop Strickland. We really in need of MORE bishops with the clarity & Charity of bishop Strickland. He is very knowledgeable and very humble. May God bless you 🙏
Thank you, Matt Fradd, for doing a great interview with such a sincere, loving bishop. It did my heart good to watch this, since I have been rather hard on "the bishops" in general over the past year. This really helped me to lessen my own judgmental attitude and remember what's really important.
Bishop Strickland is the most wonderful shepherd of Jesus Christ in the Catholic Church and I am thankful for hearing his most informative words and I plan to continue to follow Jesus every step of the way. I am reading the Catechism now and learning so much from Fr. Mike Schmidt and I will continue to follow Jesus through the Catholic Church forevermore!
