Lunis and Vivian have both called Jackson gullible… and yet he was the only one to really see through Ares’s lies.

Whenever Vivian literally begged Jackson to give her the curse, I could see the pain in both of their eyes. Vivian desperately wants to prove herself, to her father, and to the cats, who she thinks ruined her life, that she is strong, that she won't be messed with, and that she is not pathetic, or weak, or lower than them in any way. And Jackson.. all he wanted was his sister, and to protect her. And now, They're both fighting for their lives against each other, and Jackson, desperately not wanting to give Vivian more power to hurt people, has to force himself not to defend himself. I really hope Vivian can get a redemption arc... it would be so heartbreaking, (yet AWESOME) to see her grow apart from reality completely, until it would eventually destroy her.

I like how Vivian went from accidentally nearly killing Jackson to intentionally attempting to murder him. it really goes to show just how far gone she really is. and I like that Augustus actually got a funeral and everything instead of Vivian telling Lunis "oh yea I killed your dad btw" and nothing else comes of it other than Lunis killing Vivian. his death holds so much more weight here even though his time in the reboot was shorter lived than originally

I really felt the anger when Jackson said "What the *fuck* did you do?!". I think there's no salvation for Vivian. Nobody supports her, not Jackson, not her "father". Vixie is prohibited from any close relation with Vivian. She was so desperate to obtain the curse from Jackson that she started to hurt him physically and emotionally but when he told her "Our mother would be disgusted by what you've become" she lost it and slit his throat because she knew he was right. She can try and try to get approval from that asshole but he will never accept her and it really is shown in that episode. So yeah, screw Vivian.

Still letting everything settle in, but my first thought when Rowan dropped the second cat in the river was “God, it’d be so funny if a third cat showed up right now, and the rest of the episode was just Rowan dunking cats” Humor is how I cope 🥲

Vivian is no longer a misguided villain. She's a true monster, and I hope she gets what's coming to her

Rowan throwing cats into the ravine is giving me flashbacks of that video where someone makes their sibling guess TSH Reboot characters and they started to sing “Rowan, Rowan, Rowan your boat gently down the stream-“

Even though I knew what to expect going in, I did not expect it to hit SO HARD! 1. Hesia’s wail of agony and heartbreak over her mate’s death sliced through my heart. You can tell she clearly loved him, even if they didn’t have much screen time together. Augustus was a husband and a father. He was sweet and kind, the opposite of Ares. His death left a widowed wife and two children behind. All because of Ares’s words towards Vivian and blatant favoritism. 2. You can hear Jackson’s impatience, anger, pain and sorrow in his voice all mixed together. Vivian may have changed sides, but deep down, Jackson still hoped who she once was, was still there. Unfortunately for him, it wasn’t. You can tell when the revelation hits him and the moment he knows he has to hit her with how he feels and the truth in the bluntest manner. He even told her what their MOTHER would think of it, because he knew Iris didn’t want either of them to go through this. But no deed goes unpunished and Jackson was given the harshest punishment of all. 3. I really love how well Vivian’s descent into hysteria is shown. She believes Jackson replaced her with Lunis, her jealousy blinding her to the answer: She distance herself and chose not to open up about her emotions. She’s so obsessed with gaining their father’s approval, she’ll do anything. And what Ares told her earlier struck her at the core. She cries, yet laughs because she no longer knows what is right any longer. She reveals how she truly feels about Jackson, even telling him he doesn’t deserve his power. Then Jackson hits her with the truth: He loved her and tried to help her, but she pushed him away. When he speaks of their mother, she lashes out, not knowing how else to react to what he said. And in the end, she’s proud of her foul actions, smiling as her brother bleeds out and leaving him. This is the best episode so far! Nice job to all involved. Also, I find Vivian’s name to be ironic, as it means “lively” and “alive” and clearly she’s not as lively as she once was.

I can tell by how Vivian was literally BEGGING Jaxon (I think I spelled that right) to hurt her , kill her even. Put her out of her misery. "Hurt me , Jax ! Maim me ! I'll hurt her if you don't stop me , I'll kill everyone !" She was crying , begging for him to do something. Not only was she hoping he would pass the curse to her , she was partially hoping he'd end her life and therefor , end her suffering. However , Jaxon knew she wanted the curse. The reason he didn't scratch her is obvious. He didn't want to hurt his sister , physically wound her. But he also didn't want her to contract the curse because then , she'd be damn near unstoppable and her constant rage would only empower her curse further. She'd kill damn near every cat with ease if she had the curse , Jaxon knew this , therefore would rather go down with the curse himself rather then give her that power and satisfaction.

I love how likeable Sharp is in the reboot, I didn’t like him that much in the original and often got a bit annoyed with him (apart from when he defended Dusk), but he’s so damn sweet in the reboot and his little romance with Apollo is so goddamn cuteeee

I love how hard Augustus’s death hits the royal family, it makes it genuinely seem tragic from their expressions

*sees thumbnail* …something tells me this is gonna be an emotional train wreck of an episode. 6:51 Wait… Caroline and Augustus are SIBLINGS now? Huh, that’s nice. And it makes some sense, considering they both have that spotter pattern. Though, considering Augustus is an old geezer, and Caroline looks to be at most middle-aged, I’m assuming they have a decent sized age gap.

This finale to the first arc was heartbreaking, no, no wait it was heartwrenching in ways that words cannot possibly convey. As always the visuals were astounding, and the Voice actors really gave it their all. I can praise this show again and again, but all I'll say is that it's quite the feat to pull something like this off and have it last this long, AND have it be good!! The beginning with Atticus and Sharp bonding over the different flags was so sweet, and the moments between Apollo and Sharp before the battle were touching too. The shortest I can describe this episode was that it was an absolute trainwreck emotion-wise. The fact that the credits were done in a special way, to honor King Agustus just put the cherry on top of the sadness cake. Wonderful work to everyone who partook in making this episode come together, I and I'm sure many others cannot wait to see what Arc 2 brings. In the meantime, be well, and thank you (yes you creator of the show!!) for making it, and thank you to the fabulous crew as well!!

Now I see why Vivian hates her brother; he was unwilling earned praise by their father while she has no praise from him but, to be fairly honest, all she ever wanted is Ares' attention or so-call father's love. If the next episode if Ares will find out that Vivian tried to kill Jackson, he would confess that he killed Iris and give her a scar. Ares is the main reason that Vivian was blind to her father and take it out on those who care for her but which it was all Ares' fault who created her a monster like Azula with her father because all they wanted is their fathers attention on them than their sons. But it is the epic show and hopefully the next episode will bring new drama yet excited scenes.

I've never been so blatantly angry at a literal cat that doesn't take any time to listen. You would THINK the brother you have known since the beginning would have a little more say in caring than a literal moster that sees you as power fodder. I can't wait for her to finally realize that she was deadly wrong and feel pain...because pain is sometimes necessary to understand what happens when you choose to be spiteful over reason.

“And your pacifism is going to cost you your life” Excellent foreshadowing from episode three! Oh man, there really was nothing Jackson could’ve done to stop this outcome, was there

Rowan is taking healthcare in a new direction. Fantastic work Alex and crew! The fight was paced fantastically paced. I like seeing the differences and similarities between this battle and the one in the original. Also that end credits sequence??? Tragic. I love it. Can't wait to see what's next!

This was amazing, I love it, and oh god poor Jaxson Rowan just giving off pure evil vibes constantly makes me want to scream and shake them all and tell them not to trust Rowan

OH MAN this was such an episode?? I love the buildup we had up until this, and the stakes are high- Vivian's motivations and her drive is so strong and both her and Jackson's arguing is so emotional. Especially seeing how Viv is egging Jackson on in hopes he'll attack her while in his Cursed form to get a scar too.That funeral scene during the credits though - oh boy I was not ready for that and it got me. I can't wait to see where this is going and congrats on your season finale!

I'M SO EXCITED! I've been supporting the Reboot since it was first announced. I already know how all the episodes are going to go, (past Patreon supporter :)) but I still look forward to each and every one of them! The animation style, the voice acting, the characters and the plot for The Stolen Hope is so fascinating and wonderful! I can tell by the thumbnail that this episode is going to be insane. I feel so bad for Jackson, being Cursed against his will, all because he rightfully stood up for himself, and in a way, for Vivian as well.

Enemy by Imagine Dragons would be a perfect theme song for Vivian. Once again, amazing job on this episode and the first arc! While she is the main antagonist, Vivian is by far my favourite character of the series due to her complexity, arc, design and presence when she's on screen. I very much look forward to what arc 2 has in store!

Oh MAN what a wild ride that was. Here comes a long paragraph First off, Atty being excited about their flag coming for their birthday is SO CUTE OMG🥺 Also, I noticed a Iris and Hesia parallel. Jack was exhausted from family troubles, and so was Iris, his mother, and so Lunis and Hesia, mother and daughter, helped them (or attempted to). I love how you kept the Vivian covering herself with mud part from the original series! The mud on her looked really natural! And when Dusk was warning Hesia and Augustus to not go out, and they went anyways, I knew Augustus was probably gonna die like the original, rest in peace😔The funeral was a nice but sad little addition. Poor Jackson, he got almost killed like he did in the original. Guess Viv’s really desperate for that curse. And by the look in her eyes, she KNOWS this is probably wrong, but she just wants to impress her only parent so badly. Her actions aren’t justified though. Jack’s right, Iris wouldn’t approve. Sharp’s one of my new fav characters now, he is definitely concerned about Apollo! Really love how understanding he was about Atty interrupting him too. He was so sweet to Lunis too when she was panicking, what a great medic…unlike Rowan, who betrayed and killed two cats. And Ares…woooooow he really needs someone else defending him ALL the time?? And he has to put down Viv every time she does something just to compare her to Jackson and why he’s so much better than she is?? And yell at Vixy?? Rly?? Sounds kinda sexist since he always praises Jackson one way or another, then proceeds to put down Viv and Vixy. Also sounds like he makes (or well, made) Jack be the golden child and Viv the one who does everything wrong, which is, unfortunately a very real thing. Ares got what was coming when Viv led the soldiers into battle too early! Oh, and I’m guessing that was Rose helping Hesia, you go girl!! Anyways, the art, backgrounds, and music choices are amazing! I’ve always loved that orchestral piece that you put in the battle scene! Oh, and I love how the cats have actual designs! Makes them feel more real, unlike the original series where the bg characters were just brown or gray or something with random eyes and the same body structure. They all have amazing designs!! Congrats on finishing arc 1, looking forward to arc 2!!

Man this came out great!! I’m living how Vivian’s development is going. You can really feel her despair growing with her anger. Also that cliffhanger 👀 can’t wait to see the next episodes!

Everything about that episode was so worth the wait! On a side note, RIP Augustus and I hope a service was also held for the two brave Thorn Soldiers that traitor Rowan threw into the river in cold blood. I mean, I know he’s a spy, but still! Come on, Rowan! May Jesus bless you all and lead you to Him!

You guys out on yourself this time this was the greatest episode yet

This episode is BEAUTIFUL!! I love how you can tell Vivian not Vixy truely like Aries, it’s so interesting! And it’s not everyday when you see 6 character deaths in one episode. 2 by Rowan’s backstabbing-a*s, 2 by Vivian, (Augustus & Jackson) 2 of them known characters, (Augustus & Jackson) 1 of them main characters, (Jackson) and the rest (4) of them background characters!

This series has always had me in tears, I've been a fan of your content since the final of the old series was uploaded. I am so excited to see what happens next. Me and all of your fans support your work! We all cannot wait to see more.

I. just. can't. STOP replaying Jackson's and Vivian's moment, especially their fight! The music, the voice acting (Vivian's break down was phenomenal!), the expressions, the tension; it was amazing! THIS episode was amazing! Goosebumps! Edit: Can someone knows where is the version of the soundtrack played at 21:40? It is different from the original in the credits and I can't find it.

AWW THE FIRST SCENE WITH SHARP AND THE KID AJHAHEGDGS TALKING ABOUT NON-BINARY FLAGS SHHDHDHS MY HEART

Absolutly outstanding episode! The crew litterally went so hard and oh my god does it show, everything from the visuals to the acting was absolutly perfection. Im loving how vivians arc is going and cant wait to see whats to come for this series, I know its gonna knock everyones socks off!

Well, with this I feel Vivian has hit the limit. Before I thought she had a chance to turn things around for herself down the line but now, if she ever gets to that point, redemption will equal death.

Finally got to watch this a few times (felt like I wanted to watch it a few times, just to take everything in) and AHHH SO CRAZY. And so, so good! Normally there isn't much character moments in action driven scenes or sequences in my personal opinion so when I watch them in anything at all, I always want more character interactions, diaouluge and motivation casue that what I personally like. THIS scratched that itch SO well. The fighting felt so well done but I also felt like I was still connected to all the characters during it because it wasn't just people beating others up- there is real interactions and character development/interactions even through all that. I want to feel sympathy for Vivan. But after this epsidoe that is really hard. She really just turned on Jackson when he puts a mirrior to what she is doing. ALL of this makes me so on edge for the next epsiode. I want to see how Jackson fairs, how Lunis, Apollo and Hesia react to what he tells them if/when he makes it. Vivian going after Jackson isn't gonna go over well I antisipate, so I'm on edge as to what will happen there too. Cannot wait for the next epsoide!

It’s fight time and I am pumped! I’m glad I found this show on a whim, I know I will love it. This episode seems to be a emotional one, I’ll edit this comment once I actually see it though. Edit: Holy SHIT! THAT WAS AMAZING and also heartbreaking. Everything from the kings death to Vivian slight tears even to a breakdown when Jackson wouldn't hit her back. I am definitely tooken aback from how amazed but also sad I was from alot that took place and I still find myself processing it. Good job to all who worked on this! It was the best episode by far

I have discovered a few new things after watching this episode. 1. Rowan is one of my favorite characters now, especially the scene where he just dunks people in the river 2. This is not just a mix of warrior cats and wings of fire 3. It’s not healthy to watch this at 3 in the morning, especially because I have school tomorrow 4. Atticus's moments were a blessing

I know I’m very late to commenting but while watching the episode live, I can’t say how much this is beautiful! All the emotions, and emotional words and voice acting is amazing! Including agustats death (forgive me for spelling it wrong) and Vivian’s outburst with Jackson. The emotional acting and drawings are just- amazing..it puts this episode out there from the rest. I cannot. From queen Hesia crying and tears to Vivian yelling out at Jackson for taking the curse. This episode has much more then the rest, I cannot say how amazing the reboot is. Especially Vivian’s voice actor! Her complainings to her yelling and crying at Jackson is so amazing, the voice actors did an amazing job. It feels so well done. I can’t wait for episode 6 to come, but of course the 6 month wait continues. This is truly one of the best episodes from the rest! Congratulations.

Ya'll I was not ready for the funeral in the credits 😭😭😭 Vivian was a crazed lunatic in this episode and it was perfect but maaaaaan you cannot root for this girl she keeps digging herself deeper and deeper into a hole and it is so sad poor gal!

I…I really don’t know what to say. I’m floored. I’m speechless. I know how limited picture-tweening can be for a series, especially for action scenes, but you pulled it off so perfectly that it doesn’t leave much else to be said. The battle scenes were fucking jaw-dropping experiences. The expressions, the movements, the details, the gore, it was all so perfectly fine tuned. This episode caught my attention by the throat and didn’t let go the entire time. What a legendary RU-vid series. One of my favorite things about this is how I can find little nuggets of the previous series, rearranged in new, exciting contexts that take some of the most iconic plot points from TSH and make them 300x more emotional than they used to be. Vivian killing the king, Vivian near-killing Jackson (and Jackson refusing to fight back), the royal family being present during battles/soldiers charging head on despite both moves technically being huge tactical blunders…Everything is still there, but with almost completely different reasons and settings and emotional environments that make them make lots more sense and/or add character to the world. It also really acts as hype generation on its own too, because it makes you think about other old TSH plot points we might end up seeing rephrased! Vivian will probably get her scar sometime soon, either because she screwed up the battle plan, nearly killed Jackson, or both! (Probably mostly the Jackson thing, this series has managed to portray the favoritism so well.) And I wonder if Caroline dying will also make a reappearance as a plot point, even though it would destroy my heart and crush my soul and annihilate my happiness to see Dusk and Atticus have to deal with that…goodness gracious, it is so insanely fun to theorize. Not to mention how it also makes the new plot points even more intriguing in their own ways; Sharp x Apollo is a ship I didn’t see coming, but I am PUMPED to see where it goes. It’s been mostly teasing and flirting up to this point, but I have a feeling things will start getting real between them now that Augustus is dead. Maybe we’ll see scenes of Sharp comforting Apollo about it. Really cute, but also sad, to think about. Gotta love the LGBT rep in here, too. You don’t just have the flags hanging in the background for stray eyes. The characters actually draw attention to them, and make reference to them in their universe. The series went from “Trans rights” to “TRANS RIGHTS!!!!!!!” and I am loving every second of it. Can’t wait to see the non-binary flag hanging up in Attie’s room!!

I know that Jackson will survive, now the part I’m looking forward to be remade is where Ares beats the EYE out of Vivian…

First off, Great job everyone! VA's, Storyboard, Background, Clean up Animators, Script Writers, and Editors! Directors! Such a good show! I absolutely love Vixy, she's much better constructed and you can see her character development! Her praising Vivan was so nice to see, just her being nice in general! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that her whole personality or being isn't just 'Ares second in command'! She opposes him, and even tells him what to do sometimes it's awesome! She's just a whole character, and I seriously cannot wait to see what's in store for her. While I know what happens in the Original, I wonder what will change in this reboot, will she die by Ares's side? Seek a better future for herself? Side with the Thorns!? I don't know! But I am so excited! And I cannot wait for Jackson's story to develop as well! He's so conflicted rightfully so, and as of now if the Thorns were to kick him out he'd have nowhere to go! He's scared of people fearing him, of being alone, of being a monster, and it's so interesting to see how Vivan plays on that. He loves Lunis but he's scared of being a threat even when he knows that his loyalties lie with the thorns. He has to grapple with the fact that the sister he loved is dead, and that now he has to fight against her. Seriously I cannot wait for more Jackson content. Vivian is just something else, she is an intrusive thought come to life. She is what most of us would become if we hated ourselves to that extent. She is so busy trying to earn love, affection, praise, and what have you from her father that she ignores the cries of her brother, even almost killing him. She is power-hungry because she knows she has none. She DOES yearn to be feared because that is the only way she sees being powerful. If she can't be loved then she'll make sure she's feared. I do not know where her story will lead, but I have a feeling that it won't be a good ending. She can't be saved, because she doesn't want to be. There is no stopping her, and she was only able to come to for a moment because Jackson told her the hard truth about what their mother would think of her. But even then I don't think it'll take a lot for her to stop caring. Vivian is dead, she died the day she sided with Ares. Rowan is an interesting character and I wonder if there are more double spies we as the viewers don't know about. Maybe even a double spy on the Dark side who's reporting to the Thorns? I wonder how long he can keep up the act before going bonkers. I mean the main trait of these cats is that they are bloodthirsty for blood, power, or both. It's intriguing that the creative decision was to make Rowan a medicine cat, considering how easy it is for him to kill. Medicine cats are seen as harmless (well maybe not SO but still), they are seen as those who took an oath to do no harm, and he's close to the royalty he's in a perfect position to do harm. He's also very reserved and astute. IDK man that cat will become a big problem either an obvious one or a shadowy one very soon. can you believe all of this was conveyed using cartoon cats? buckle up everyone, because this has only just begun... ;)

I’m absolutely BLOWN AWAY by how well this came together! The emotional stakes here, the fight scenes, the dialogue, everything was FANTASTIC!! Everything started out so wholesome and ended with such heartbreak 🥲 Seriously, I can’t praise TSH reboot enough!! Every episode seems to top the last, and I’m so excited to see where the story goes from here! The entirety of this arc is so incredible, and I have no doubt the next one will be as well!

Seeing this compared to the old one is a massive improvement, I’m very impressed! I know this is going to be a banger of an episode I love seeing how you add the details of other artist’s characters into the series

I don't thing Ares was pissed with Vivian because she could have "just compromised the whole mission". I think he was angry becouse the soldiers where obeying his daughter instead of him.

Holy smokes this series is amazing, a lot of character development especially for Jackson and Vivian! Poor Jackson... he just wants a normal life with his sister only for their monster of a father to screw things up. With Vivian taking his side and her nearly killing Jackson, I wonder how the rest of the series will pan out. Can't wait for the next episode! Keep up the awesome work!

A few HC I have for the characters! Max has killed his own soldiers in battle by mistake, though he blames this on them getting in the way Augustus knew something was wrong the moment Vivian said that his wife is in a tree due to her not being the most comfortable in trees due to her lack of sight Apollo isn’t the fastest at running so he bases his skills on accuracy rather than speed

This episode was both very cool and sad at the same time and the fight scenes were epic, everyone who worked on this did an amazing job! can’t wait to see what’s to come!

wow! i cried. this was an amazing episode and the part that definitely hurt the most was everything vivian. she wants to be freed of her pain but also bask in it. love her to bits! and that end credits scene. OUCH

Spoilers for this episode! Help - I was like crying for the whole episode. There’s no words inside my head, it’s just one letter: AAAAAA Also to all of the many’s who worked on this or were included in any way: amazing work! I can’t even imagine the effort. I really hope the series gets the attention it deserves, and it deserves a lot of attention!

I’ve already said my piece on how much I love this episode (spoiler alert, it’s a lot, lmao). I also adore this whole series in general, and how it shows a positive relationship’s deterioration into antagonism and betrayal due to abuse and manipulation. However, if there’s one thing I wished came up more, it’s positive scenes between Jackson and Vivian. There are maybe 2 wholesome scenes between the two, and both are in the first episode (when Vivian defends Jackson, and then when Jackson placates her anger toward Lunis and Apollo). Other than that, everything else between them is implied or told. I know that your team only had 5 episodes to work with in this arc, and you’re already well past the building-up stage, so this probably couldn’t be changed even if wanted. But I do hope for some flashbacks in future episodes, because I find it hard to empathize with a lost relationship that was never illustrated much to begin with. There were a lot more aggressive scenes between Jackson and Vivian than there were loving scenes, so if there’s one piece of criticism I have regarding this whole series, it’d be to show more of the happy moments of the past that have been tragically tainted by the present reality of their lives. I do think, if Jackson’s coma is still going to be a plot point after this, that’s a perfect opportunity to have some of those callback scenes!

I’ve been watching the series all day and I’m glad this popped up when it did! Your project is amazing, and your artists, voice actors are flawless producers!

I love the reboot so much. There's a lot to talk about this episode and the improvement of characters in general, but I need to say how much I LOVE how you've chosen to portray Apollo in the reboot compared to the original and his design choice. In the original, he was barely a character, comedic relief who had barely anything to do with the setting and the story when he had a lot of potential. In the reboot he feels like a character, who is optimistic and lovable without feeling like every scene involving him needs to be a joke or just being 'the brother of Lunis'. He just breathes so much life and positive vibes to this series. I love that you chose to make him this chubby and short fluffball without resorting to making him seem stupid, unskilled or less than the others for being a chubbier/goofier cat. It means so much to me he is taken seriously by other characters and loved for who he is - his relationship with Lunis in the reboot, how they interact like siblings that actually respect each other, it doesn't get enough praise. He has shaped to be one of my favorite characters here, and I hope the best for him and Sharp going forward.

Woops kinda late Once here to comment that, this is the best episode of an original animated series, the actors have done a good job, you have also made a good job expressing the characters so well ?? I never ever tought i'll be catched by a cartoon character in a screen.. Augustus' death scene almost made me cry, to see how far vivian have lost her mind.. and the blind hesia's reaction. And him not being able to do anything, just trying to convince vivian to stop her plan. And even the Jackson and Vivian scenes made me so emotional ;(( How their relationship got ruined and more.. The way jackson fell rolling around bleeding.. i can feel the deep anger in jackson and the deep guilt that vivian doesn't wanna put out at all, continues blindly killing. This is just,, im just speachless 😰😰 Edit: I LOVE the details about vivian's mentality, jealousy drowned her mind, both of her and jackson had a traumatic childhood. Jackson suffers in silence, spends time with good people to forget while being nice and kind, meanwhile vivian picking sides with the wrong people, trying to kill people related to her. Saw the progress in the dc server. Well done!!!! ;'DD

This show absolutely excels at is interactions. I can never get over how much the reboot has reinforced the characters motives and relatability. Each time Jackson stands up for himself, Vivian’s bitterness, the dialogue between Atticus and Sharp in the beginning of this episode? Always breathes so much life, it makes it feel so real. The dramatic scenes add intuition to the plot, and lots of the time things will be brought back up and it’s so cool to watch that come back for good or bad. And the butterfly symbolism is always catching my eyes, keeps you on your toes. Love the amount of talent and passion behind this show, bravo -!
