Interesting fact: “blood is thicker than water” is a shortened version of the quote which means “the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb”… which actually means that the relationships you form are stronger than family. For some reason the quote got misunderstood more and more over time and is now taken to mean the opposite.

Vivian is such a big girl! I love her design with the fur and how it grows with time. She looks masculine, but it fits so well.

I really hope Vivian finds out who killed her mother, I do feel bad for her even if she is becoming an antagonist

"... You feel worthless with me?" God this scene haunts me a further level. The way Jackson's voice shrivels up and wavers, the way his pupils shrink, with the revelation caused by words that may have been said in anger but words he fully believes-- that he's deeply hurt someone he loves. A feeling I resonate with. Jackson and Vivian only had each other after their mother's death, and only up until Lunis and Apollo did Jackson have anyone else he could trust and consider a friend. They were highly dependant on each other, and in earlier episodes we can see just how in tune they are with each other's wellbeing. Jackson gave the whole of his heart to his sister, to make sure she was safe and loved, because she was all he had left. He couldn't loose her. So to hear that all that love, all that care, was not a safety blanket but a dagger the whole time-- when all he wanted to do was protect her and make her happy, it all sent his world spirally down. And we see this in the way he reacts, he shuts down, curls in on himself, he starts _shaking._ And top it all off, he may have lost her anyways, with new weight to blame himself as a factor. Vivian is reactive and guarded by nature, only trusting her vulnerability with her brother. Jackson is just as he says-- he doesn't like conflict. He's learned that fighting back is pointless due to the years of abuse from the Thorns, and with that learned helplessness, he simply "takes their shit." They're two different reactions to trauma, polar opposites. Jackson begins to look towards the sun, while Vivian begins drowning in the tar. This all is just unfiltered train of thought because I have too much to say without the elegance to put it in to words, and to be the obligatory "I ReMEmBEr ThE OlD StOlEn HoPe--" you've genuinely come such a long way since the initial series and it shows in every aspect. Love these trauma cats. They be fightin Also I SEE WHAT YOU DID WITH THE BUTTERFLY WING. I SEE Y-- Edit: ALSO THE TRANS FLAG WE LOVE TO SEE IT!!

20:46 - 21:06 almost made me cry. I feel so bad for Jackson and Vivian. You can tell Vivian regreted saying that for a few seconds but then her anger and hatred returned. Voice acting top notch

I feel even more bad for Jackson now, along with Viv. Viv just wants to be noticed for her skills, but Ares always admired Jackson for looking like him. Jackson just wants his sister back. When she called him that she felt worthless around him, my heart broke for Jackson. Even Viv felt bad for saying that, but then switched back. I didn’t really like Jackson nor feel bad for him that much in the og series, but my views on him in the reboot have changed a LOT. He seems like an actual character with nothing but love inside him. I can actually relate to him, too. Poor Viv though, she’s been so manipulated into thinking the wrong cats killed Iris. That ain’t an excuse for snapping at Hesia and Dusk tho. It also seemed like when Hesia had the curse, the body shape looked a lot like Iris, and I think she was trying to tell her what happened to her, as it seemed very important. Lunis and Jackson are a very cute couple along with Apollo and Sharp! I didn’t think Jackson was a great mate for Lunis in the og series but in the reboot I’m all for it! I also like how you kept Lunis’ curse in this one, as I really liked her dark blue eyes in the og series, and was very happy to see you kept it! Amazing job on this episode, can’t wait for episode four!

I love that the romance was kept in! Jackson falling in love with Thorn royalty definitely makes his fall away from Aries even more intriguing!

God, it’s like every episode illustrates something different and new about abusive environments. Here we see the abusive ideologies infesting one of the victims’ mindsets, causing her to lash out at a fellow victim in an effort to gain better standing with her abuser, not knowing it’s in vain. I also really like how her back fur gets bigger and bushier, too - can be seen as symbolic of Ares’ dark influence and toxic mentality growing on her. I don’t have much else to say except that you are an absolute master of character development and conflict, goddamn.

I know I'm not the only who really hates how vixys trying to mother vivian. She literally helped kill iris. Her mothering is just as bad as Aries gaslighting her.

Vivian is so blinded by her desire for approval and admiration of Ares that she believes any lie he feeds her, without hesitation. I really hope one day she starts to question his story, or even just… ruminate on it a bit. There are quite a few logical holes in Ares retelling. Why would Iris feel the need to flee the Curse Empire with 2 newborns? He said she was a spy and he “let her flee with her life” (no red flags there 🙄) but if she truly was spying for the Thorn Kingdom, why would the Thorns kill their own agent? Vivian, pls, use your big girl brain.

man i get that Vivian is learning how to cope too but jfc i cannot forgive her for how she's been treating Jackson (at least not right now). what she said to him during the rain scene was inexcusable, and i was actually pissed/just as hurt next to Jackson. this is his sister. someone who has gone through the exact same situation as he, someone who lost the same mother she did. and she has the nerve to tell him "i feel worthless when im with you"??? actually made me incredibly angry lol. great work with this episode! the emotions were strong here. i just hope vivian realizes her mistakes in the end. i never watched the OG series but i really hope she and jackson reconcile. wonder how she'll react when/if the truth of her mother's murder is reveal. if not, then well. guess i gotta get ready for more heartbreak.

This series is getting sooo good omg! This episode was amazing and im loving how Vivian and Jackson are developing as characters! Also soggy did an absolutely FANTASTIC job this episode especially with the "you feel worthless with me?" line, you could FEEL the heartbreak and sadness in this scene and I'm freaking living for it!

I can't wait, I'm someone who speaks Spanish and maybe I don't understand 100% but I'm hooked on this story and I'm not going to detach myself, I already want to see how much Vivian has changed and not only in appearance, but also to see how she relates to others like Rowan

Well, Vivian's right about one thing at least. Just... not in the way she thinks. Blood is thicker than water, but the full saying is 'The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb.' Which basically is saying the bonds of friendship are more important than familial bonds. I have a feeling that Jackson is going to realize that, but I can only hope that Ares doesn't sink his claws too deep into him.

"Your mother loved you so very much." That hit deep, seeing their two different reaction shows how they handled their mothers death.

Ok, that episode was so painful. Jackson and Lunis are so cute, JACKSON MAPLE BOI Apollo x Sharp? 👀 Rowan looks so cool too... Hesia and Augustus are so cute too, their relationship with Lunis and Apollo is so pure Now let's talk about Jackson and Vivian (FIRST OF ALL I DON'T AGREE WITH VIV ACTIONS) Well, Jackson is a very sweet boy, we know he is in the right side, it hurts me to see how hurt he is in this Episodes, in the First one they were very close, and now.... Pain. At the same time i can't blame Viv for acting this way, THEY DON'T KNOW WHO ARES TRULY IS, we know but they don't, he is manipulative, Viv REALLY BELIEVES that the Thorns killed Iris, she was not there to see that Ares was who killed her mother, im pretty sure if she knew from the start, she was not going to join him, but maybe now it's too late... But like i Said, i can't blame her, we are not on her skin to know how It feels to just want to be recognized for something, wanting to be strong, but still always being compared to her brother like she wasn't enough... Every Ep makes me hate Ares more I love Vivian and Vixy Mother/daughter relationship, Ares i hate for trying to ruin it I can't wait for the next ep!!!

The VAs really outdone themselves in this episode! It's so tragic to see how close Vivian and Jackson were to the state they are in now. I just want to give Jackson a huge hug. Side note: I really love how you draw Vivian's angry faces.

Lovely episode! I think Rowan, Hesia, and Augustus are my favorites so far. I also love all the little Easter eggs and details throughout the palace. Comparing the castle backgrounds from the original series is wild. My new theory is Iris likes to stir up drama. Iris, my main man, just tell Hesia what happened. You don’t gotta be quiet all the time. Vivian needs to get a squirt bottle for Ares. Spectacular work Alex! And shoutout to all the colorists and voice actors. They are really outdoing themselves!

damn, seeing viv's and jaxson's siblinghood deteriorate like this is absolutely gut wrenching. i absolutely love the writing in this series, the art, the voice acting, it's all so good!

Everyone on this team owes me money in emotional damages. Vio and Soggy absolutely KILLED IT in scene 4, and the hurt in Hesia's voice when she sees Iris between Jackson and Vivian in scene 3... wow. Beautiful work by all the VAs! Also, I just want to give a huge thank you to the art team for bringing TSH to life. You all are incredibly skilled and we wouldn't get to enjoy this series without you! ❤️

Oh god. I love this episode.. it was heartbreaking to see Jackson lose his sister right in front of his eyes, and when he heard those words from vivian that he makes her feel worthless it must have been heartbreaking, his own sister.

Being a spy for the Cursed Empire, I didn’t really expect to like Rowan all that much. But he seems to be a good hearted cat, I’m pleasantly surprised! I really like what you’ve done with your characters, both old and new. I can’t wait to see where the story goes from here

Waited awhile before commenting cause this episode gave us even more to unpack and I wanted to let it marinate in my brain for a bit. But anyways, yet another banger of an episode!!! Your writing has improved so much it’s insane. As per usual, while I love the characters interactions and developments and all the bigger on screen stuff, my favourite bits are the little details that just add to the characters and their mindsets. Firstly, Ares’ manipulation of Vivian and the disconnection with Iris. Throughout the entire episode, Vivian refers to Iris with just her name, while still calling Ares “Dad”. This tells us that not only is Ares shifting the blame of Iris’ death onto the Thorns, he’s downplaying her importance to Vivian so that she values him as a parent and authority figure more. Ares impacts Vivian’s behaviour a lot, of course this doesn’t excuse her abuse of Jackson in the slightest, but it’s extremely interesting to look at. If Ares has never bothered to go after Jack and Viv, and Jackson had said the same thing to her as she did in the rain scene, she almost definitely wouldn’t have resorted to physical violence. Jackson and Vivian’s bond already seemed like it was on the decline, so adding Ares into the picture just made the deterioration go way faster. Second little detail, I think scene three was maybe alluding to how Hesia isn’t super adept to social situations? Based on stuff in her description in the discord and her behaviour here, I feel like in some cases social cues are a little lost on her (maybe Apollo gets it from her lmao). When she talks about Iris, you can tell she’s trying her best to comfort the siblings, even though it’s only making the situation more tense for everyone. If this is an intentional flaw she has, I really like it! It’s a good contrast to the rest of her family who are all very extroverted and social. Still really like Hesia ❤️. Romance in this episode was also really good! I’m glad to see the lovers bickering trope done right instead of just “guy harasses girl into loving him” that I just see way too often. Love me some girlboss x malewife, Sharpollo is great too go lgbts go. Overall fantastic job on this episode! I cried and this is only episode 3! Fuck! 😀 I had a lot of fun as a shader and thank you SO MUCH for choosing my thumbnail I was honestly surprised 😭

Even after episode 6, this is still my favorite episode. Not because the episodes get any worse, but because of Vivian’s interaction with Jackson at the end.

Vivian is definitely an interesting character! This episode was a fun ride for sure. My favorite as of right now.

Amazing Job everyone!! This episode was outstanding, The art was down right beautiful, the characters and emotion put into them from the voice actors was on point! I love the symbolism the butterflies show between the Viv and Jack's relationship, which speaking of can I just say is written on a professional level! Vivian's slow fall is so good and give me both a broken heart and goosebumps because she's a really good antagonist! Very well done, I can't wait to see what you have in store for us next, especially because of that cliff hanger!

This episode was absolutely amazing. I feel so bad for Viv and Jackson. Jackson just wants to keep his sister safe while Viv wants to prove to Ares that she is better and stronger than her brother. The character developments are so well developed and I can’t wait for the next episode 😊

Even after almost 3 years Im still hooked into the stolen hopes plot. Remake rerun reboot no matter its amazing either way and keeps me wanting more. I believe I was either 14 or 13 when the first episode came across my fyp. I stayed watching even up to the final almost 3 years ago. Even after I stayed not because I thought a rerun reboot or remake would happen but because I loved you're art story's and animations. Still inspires me years later when I'm 18 years old 💙

I am somewhat new now to this show and so far I am absolutely in awe from how much I love it. This episode especially was very well done so good on all writers, artist and voice actors who worked on it. (A little cute side note, Apollo and Sharp as a ship are too cute and I definitely need more of them ❤️)

This was so good! The voice acting, storytelling, the animation is so amazing! I really felt so bad for Jackson in this episode. The way he said" you feel worthless with me" made me actually shed a tear. He is such an amazing brother(he deserves all the love)! Vivian is just being dumb at this point, you know he doesn't like you so why work for him? Also yes I love the dynamic from Lunis and Jackson. Glad to see Sharp, love him already. You and the team did a spectacular job!

Scene 4 was just so raw… and the most tragic part is that Vivian does kinda raise a few valid points, but she’s still so clearly going down the wrong mindset bc of Ares’s manipulation.

Congrats Alex on getting the episode done before Christmas! :) Everyone’s voice acting was so great this episode (like every other episode!). I could really hear the emotions in their voices. Edit: I watched the episode. - First of all, I'm loving to see how Jackson and Lunis are getting closer to each other since they are my favorite couple after Dusk and Caroline. 😍 - Second, I have a new shipp now that is Apollo and Sharp. You know, I was really missing a yaoi (boy x boy) shipp in the story, and I was wondering who would be their pair, but I wasn't expecting that they would actually like each other. That's so CUTE! 💕 - Third, this thing with the royal Thorns and Rose's curse is exiting me! Also, I love how is the relationship between Lunis, Apollo, Hesia and Augustus. Because, even though they are always busy, we can see how much Hesia ans Augustus love their children. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 - Fourth, what can I say about this fight between Vivian and Jackson? It was really tense. When she told him that she feels worthless with him, it cutted him sharp and deep, I know how it is to be in his shoes and how sad and heart broken this can be. They both have this thing on choosing a side as a family that is tearing them apart. At the same time that Vivian's hate and jealousy grows, Jackson's sorrow grows. 💔 - Fifth, is interesting to see how Ares has this brute way to talk to Vivian, and Vixy talks to her kindly. It shows who really cares about her.
