Johnny manziels success in the SEC shows just how far the skill gap is between the NFL and college. He got away with just terrible football for a long time only to be humbled by real players. It's kinda a story of not taking short cuts. Players like Josh Allen took the opposite route, they perfected their skills in college with things like stepping up in the pocket, going thru reads and reading defenses presnap without taking scrambling shortcuts like manziel, while being more athletic than those around you by 2 standard deviations scrambling until a wide open reciever comes open in college may be fun and win you Heismans it's not real football, and leads to no sustained success. People like perfected the basics in college at Wyoming, and even his first few years in buffalo then he blossoms into becoming a fun to watch crazy scrambler at times but stills has extreme ability in the pocket playing textbook football. So kids, learn up so you can play around. You can't do it in reverse.

It's crazy just how many great college football players can't adapt to the next level, and how some in small D-1 or FCS like Cooper Kupp/Tyreek Hill/Josh Allen can all become stars. The beauty of the internet and advancement of technology is that these studs can be discovered much easier, and it's why Trey Lance went so high out of NDSU. Nice little lesson my g ;)

@Adam Feffer I disagree. Combo of both. The SEC is a powerhouse, Johnny Football was ignorant and had terrible character. Look at Joe Burrow rookie year, Cam Newton's rookie year, Baker, and even that criminal Ben Roethlisberger.

I told people he will be flop , he couldnt read D and in college he could run around throw it up because the D he is facing maybe 1 or 3 future pros some none , now NFL everybody is good
