On Lek Hotel, I was moved into there in early May 2020 when the hotel I had been staying in closed for refurbishments. The rooms were quite small but mine on floor 9 had balcony with 'sea view'. It was an odd experience as it was during the lockdown and I waiting for flight home. It is close to the beach and not far from Soi Diana and a reasonably short walk to LK Metro. Breakfasts were excellent but post-pandemic they stopped doing them. You were wrong to say the pool is large - it is nice but quite small/average (no problem in 2020 as there were few guests staying anyway). Perhaps you were thinking of Lek Villa their sister hotel in Naklua (next to Space) which has an enormous pool on two levels. Would I recommend? Probably not.
At the end of Soi13/1 where you finished up, on the corner is Hops Brewhouse. A high quality German kraft brewery and restaurant. The food is top notch, they have proper pizza ovens, good steaks, seafood, pastas and Thai options, or you can just go a basket of chips. Best of all, you can buy a glass of beer so big you can't lift it. You need to ladle it out into smaller glasses. Great to share one with friends over a meal, and you can take a few funny photo at the end pretending to be drinking out of the giant glass. Good place for a date, or when introducing new friends to Pattaya. A place definitely worth trying at least once.
One attraction to your channel is getting to take a pleasant walk with a friend that has lots of interesting things to chat about. It’s a great way to unwind in the evenings.
Amritsar is a big city in India Trevor and many Indian restaurants are named after it,......the boarded up hotel on Soi 13 was a French hotel called La Maison, fantastic place with a beautiful pool, used to be able to just sit at the bar and chill even if you weren't staying at the hotel, sadly it closed during Covid and never reopened.
8 minutes in Soi 13. Ma Maison - boarded up for years now. Was my favourite - low rise, great staff, swimming pool, etc.. The plot backs onto the back of the Tahitian Queen so maybe at some point a development opportunity.
Hi Trevor, hope you are well Robin Hood tavern has really great food and excellent air conditioning. I stayed down the street at the Intimate Hotel. Really nice and not overly expensive. Close enough to everything but quiet enough to sleep 😴
Trevor, saying the Sportsman Sunday Carvery is good. it's an understatement. It is a fantastic meal at a very good price. When I am in Pattaya The Sportsman is my Sunday meal. David is a very nice host and manager. I bring my Thai girlfriend i get the Carvery and she chooses off the menu if shes in the mood for Tha food.
At the 2nd rd end of soi 13/1 theres Tuks sports bar,Tuk & Dean are great hosts, nice beer, great rooms @ a reasnoble rate & has its regulars crew of drinkers
Actually stayed in Soi 12 in 2018, Trev walked passed it (Jasmin guest house) I think it got swallowed up during lockdown. Very moderate accommodation, nevertheless it was the best holiday i'd had in Pattaya. Didn't have anyone with me, no ball & chain, had a great time. Doesn't have to be the Ritz to have a banger!!
Damnnn, i miss that city😢 I need to get myself on that plane again. The only downside of going there is that i'll have to leave again. Really depressing. But one day i don't have to leave again, i'm sure !
I stayed there once many years ago. They didn't give me toilet paper and I had to go buy my own. I never went back but they did have a popular Sunday lunch/barbeque back then.
The wine and cheese bar on soi 13/1 was The Britannia bar , my bar back in the 90s . In 98 it changed to the Billy and Da bar . Sadly Billy died , too much alcohol 🍺. Beware the pressure of owning a bar in Pattaya.
How's your sleep with no coffee or tea unfortunately i have sleep insomnia I've cut soda out drinking & working on the smoking on quitting noticed that's helped my sleep quite a bit
Trev, the reason why your channel is popular is because of you! Good pleasant personality and your brain got tons of info about the city which you freely share in every video. This stretch of 2nd road is personally my favorite! Easy to walk South to walking street or catch a baht bus to Soi 6 or Terminal 21 or whatever. Easy to cut through Avenue mall to get to Soi Buakhao. Tons of good value hotels around like Dynasty Inn, Intimate Hotel, Arcadia Mansion. Also so many delicious eating spots there is a great local Thai spot on 2nd road right across from Beertique store. Also Nags Head is good for breakfast or other meal. Sportsman is great. Yamoto is good. Kiss foods is also good. I've actually never tried Robinhood yet but surely will. I like the food stalls right in front of Avenue mall there is a cheap fresh shake stall I have purchased from a lot. Also you haven't gotten to the Soi yet (13/2) where Bagoda bar is. I like that place for people watching and just hanging out with the locals and ex-pats that are there. Good drink specials, and the employees so nice. I ordered a Johnny Walker Red label on rocks one time, and the waitress was so confused that I went to the bar with her to show her exactly what it was. Once she got the order right and brought it to me she remembered me from then on and each time she was so happy to bring me another one heh heh. Big smile on her face, that just exemplifies the Thai way always so happy and pleasant and happy to learn something new. Oh and for the marijuana folks there is a dispensary right next to Bagoda bar which is owned by same group that owns the bar. Very highly rated good product. You can even order drink at bar and bring it into dispensary. My friend is a big pot smoker and swears by this place. I have sampled a few of their edibles (not really a smoker) and can attest they pack a punch! Get the brownie but don't eat it all just break off 20-25% that will do it and I'm close to 6' and 190lbs
There was an exchange student from Ireland in my Highschool 198? He was shocked that Canada was so diverse. I guess I was a Rock n roller. He was a Mod and my best friend was a Teddy. And we did not fight. Nor did it matter if I was protestant and he was Catholic no one here gave an F. We were all friendly.
I've just returned Uk after 7wks there and dress it up how you want but the place was dead as a cemetery and I was bored shitless, so much so I've cancelled my Sept flight Hello Nashville something different
@097534 as someone who has only visited twice so far and still very much still in wanderlust can you please expound more about what led to this sentiment? Clearly you loved it enough to visit the place over the past few decades, before I was even born it seems. I'd be very interested in hearing what happened to make you fall out of love with what seems to me like heaven on earth.
@blacksparxdadon 45yrs of so called progress has ruined it. Way back no sois had concrete there was open land near beach with elephants roaming. The place is drowning in Russians and Thai government issued an invite to a mass murderer Putin. That stinks. Roadworks have lasted 40 yrs with no end to flooding, some large shops in Central have ten staff and one customer. It's dying on its feet but in Trevs garden everything is rosy with no weeds. Illness will also bring you back when you're old. Been going three times a year since 1986 so I've seen it all, enjoy!
Hi Trevor and thanks for showing me soi 13, where i usually stay when coming to Pattaya. Usually i stay at Inn house and sometimes at Dynasty inn. Nice people work there and they are guestfriendly🙂. If i stay at Innhouse i eat my breakfast at the sportsman. The food and service is just great. Keep up the good work Trevor. I found your channel in the spring of 2020. If i remember it correctly your channel really started to grow later that year and i think you started the live show early 2021. You have a great channel Trevor. Kindly regards, Reine.
I stayed at Dynasty Inn a few times too! Great location there is a local Thai restaurant on 2nd road just a block and half North which is great (right across from that Beertique beer store). Have you tried Intimate Hotel? Another decent place for similar price. Someone I trust also recommended I try Arcadia Mansion hotel nearby which I may do next trip
@@clrodrick Not intimate hotel but i did stayed at Lek hotel on second road last october or november. I also looked at Arcadia Mansion. But i do prefer if there is a swimmingpool 🙂. I planning to go to Thailand next month and stay there for 5-6 month. And i also like that Thai restaurant. The food is great and the pineapple smoothie is a winner on a hot day in the funniest city in the world!!!!🙂
@@rioreine6376 Good point about the pool or lack thereof! Is the Lek nice? Good pool there? I have not stayed there. Oh man the smoothies at that Thai place are great all made fresh to order. Just thinking about it making me want one so bad.
@@clrodrick When staying at Lek hotel i had the cheapest room. It was ok but not much more than ok. The pool is great. Not only for being quite big, but it was also deep. The food area at the hotel was closed when i was there. 🙂
You skipped past it, you speed up too quick at the end of your videos..... - i had an awesome feed at Yamato Japanese Restaurant on Soi 13/1. Great traditional Japanese food.
Did you do am update on your mental health since you honest video you did? Just that you look and sound a bit rough in this video. Hope your keeping on top of things 👍
Hi Trev. Another good one. Thanks so much for your work.just got back from Phuket and I’m happy to say that the decision to buy a house here in Pattaya was one of my best decisions. In my opinion, after exploring so many different places and cities . Pattaya is the one. Thanks again and have a great weekend mate. 🙏🙏🙏
Soi 13 dilapidated building used to be called " The Maison ". Right opposite " The Sportsman " you missed a hidden gem of a bar call " The King's table "
Your Cortisol levels are off the charts due to stress...if you don't slow down your body will make you slow down. Look after yourself, you are such a top bloke.
