My boyfriend has a lisp and it breaks my heart when people make fun of him for it. He got bullied so badly he taught himself to speak more normally. U can barely even tell he has a lisp. It’s the same for nick. I find my boyfriends lisp adorable. It makes him unique. I’ll neves understand why people make fun of it

I've grown to avoiding words that enhance my lisp to such a point that I've known people who didn't realize I had one until I mentioned it. On that note, you definitely get a broader vocabulary by having a lisp. If I hadn't constantly strived to find replacement words I doubt my vocabulary would be as vast.

The person who invented the word lisp is cruel because people who have a lisp can't say it. Same with the word stutter. It's hard for people with a stutter to say.

My lisp is very small, almost not there until I start to think “wait, is my lisp bad?” And then it’s 10x worse🤦‍♂️🥺

I always pause while I'm speaking to try and find another word that doesn't make my faint lisp more pronounced. I don't have a very strong lisp but it just annoys me when people mention it so that people notice it. Then they're like "OOOOOH YEAAAH!"😒 Lol 😂

I just got my my oil changed and the Hispanic girl at the front desk, I went to this video to confirm what I was hearing. I got to say though, with that lisp and your sweet personality she seemed pretty cute. Sometimes certain things work out for people and it seems like a perfect match.

Yeah, his lisp was barely noticeable. I have a friend and a little brother who can't pronounce R's. So people constantly ask them to "say 'world!'", etc. If you're the kind of person who comments on or teases a person about their speech impediment, know that everyone hates you.

I hate my lisp so deeply within my soul.

Funny I was just googling the same thing as him. I was fortunate growing up and was not teased at school for my lisp. My older brother would tease me about it, but that’s what older brothers do. But it’s insane how much it impacts me when someone points it out. It completely shuts me down. It’s usually an innocent comment (most common one is someone mentioning that their relative has a lisp as well), but it makes me so self conscious. Going to try some speech therapy sessions as an adult.

I also used to have a lisp when I was younger and I didn’t know what’s it was called but I noticed other people didn’t use to pronounce words like they way I did with my tongue and I gradually taught my self how to speak normally.
