Nanaue in the comics was forced to be a Vegetarian on demand of his father, who said the boy was “Absolutely forbidden to eat meat before his 8th birthday.” At school one day though before his 8th birthday, a friend offered him a sandwich with meat in it and Nanaue ate it, hoping that it would finally satisfy the cravings he’d felt his whole life. It made them worse though, and the next day when his friend offered him a Sandwhich, Nanaue ate the boy instead and went on a rampage through the school.

As a latino, a funny thing with this movie is than most of the hispanic actors have different accents, some are clearly from argentina, another ones from the caribe, others from mexico, so this is a weird country

"Straight up Rick and Morty." Yes, but in reverse. Starro has inspired lots of face-hugging hive-mind creatures in sci-fi shows that came later. Starro was the first Justice League villain back in 1960 and has been in many DC stories. A version of him later joined the League as Jarro and adorably wants to be the new Robin.

Birds of Prey came out in early 2020 and this movie wasn't that far behind, so with the training and filming for Suicide Squad coming right after the training and filming for Birds of Prey, it means Margot Robbie's been playing Harley Quinn for well over a year. It's understandable why she wants to take a break, considering the role is very physically taxing, but she says she's very much willing to come back because she loves playing her so much.

If you can replace the 'who/whom' with him/her, then you use whom. 'Starro was the villain, 'he/she' made the justice league...'

Why are people always so surprised when wrestlers can act? Wrestling is an acting job, it's not like they don't have any practice or anything. Sure, it's really hammy and exaggerated acting, but it's still acting, which is at the very least a good base to start from when moving into more traditional acting work.

Gunn wanted to show us why Harley is effective in these fights, it's because she can definitely combat, escape, use weapons, and rampage. I always questioned that before, like what could a crazy chick with a baseball bat do against these monsters and mercenaries? Gunn showed us in that sequence that she's a scary badass who is mentally crazy which makes her skills scarier. It showed what the first movie lacked, and it also bridged the Birds of Prey perspective with the flowers and birds.

I disagree honestly. It seems like they just decided to make her stupid in this movie, rather than just crazy. Her Birds of Prey appearance was easily the best imo, not only being the most accurate in terms of her personality from other media and comics, but they also actually acknowledge her having a PHD and using her smarts in BoP, while also delving into the lonely aspect of her character a lot more. Her characterization in this movie kinda just felt like she's a dumb crazy person who can fight, and her whole side story felt kind of disconnected. A lot of her comedic lines in this movie also kinda fall flat imo, but I think the hit or miss comedy is kind of just an issue in general with the movie. Maybe an unpopular opinion, but glad other people liked the movie more.

Amanda Waller and Nick Fury weren’t based on these actors in the comics. Waller has looked like that since her creation, and Fury was based on the ultimate comics version who WAS based on Sam Jackson, but years before he appeared in Iron Man

@@metalbat8414 No, they're not. They have some elements of jellyfish, and some elements of octopi, but there's no animal that's quite like them even without the teeth. They just look familiar because they're a mix of bits of real aquatic animals. (By the way, James Gunn has confirmed that they are an alien species called Clyrax and they were invented for this movie, they're not in the comics.)

What happened with the 2016 Suicide Squad film is that Deadpool came out a few months before and Warner Brothers saw how successful that was so they made David Ayer add in a bunch of jokes and edit the film to make it more comedic than it was intended to be

It's like night and day with this and the 2016 movie. Loved the characters, action, comedy, all of it. Bummed that Boomer died, but I like how petty Waller was by basically killing Harley, Boomer, and Flagg. Don't screw with the Wall!!

if there's any similarity between Starro and something on Rick & Morty, i guarantee it's because Starro inspired the R&M thing. it's been one of DC's most iconic villains since 1960. may have inspired Alien too, but i'm not sure when the face-hugging Starro spores were first introduced...i think it was just telepathy at first.

Interesting trivia: 1) Harley was asked in press interviews for the movie about her taking a break. Apparently she said that it was a long time ago when she said that and she is ready for more Harley! 2) James Gunn couldn't believe what he was seeing when he asked Margot if she could get the keys of a dead body whilst in midair and she did it. He was mad because with her clothing in the way covering her face in the shot he thought people would believe a stunt double did it when in fact it was all Harley, I mean Margo 😉

“Satan learned CGI, & had a couple of extra hours on his hands.” is an absolutely flawless description of Weasel’s animation!💀 Peter Capaldi deserves more love for this - he’s flawless as a completely evil, charismatic bastard. (Basically Malcolm Tucker from ‘The Thick of It’ but as a supervillain!)

Starro the Conqueror definitely existed before Rick and Morty, in the comics and some tv shows, Starro is a very big boss problem, it even takes over many members of the Justice League

Not sure if it was intentional but “starfish is a slang term for butthole” at the start of the movie. “How would you like a dozen angry rodents crawling up your ass?” Middle of the movie. The giant starfish is defeated by a bunch of angry rats crawling inside it….

I swear every guy in my showing had that "Dayum moment" lol had to be quick and not linger for the girlfriends to notice haha. And that was probably the only real gratuitous shot of women besides the dance scene. The men were the eye candy more in this movie

King shark is a demigod, technically the cousin of aquaman, he is one of the rulers of the kingdoms of the sea, though not yet in the dceu. Hence why he is so much more physically powerful than essentially everyone here lol, in comics and prolly here he is physically stronger but generally slower a tad than aquaman, who on land is extremely EXTREMELY comparable to Wonder Woman and superman pre resurrection.

dark/gritty isnt realism. iron man 3 had tony stark reasonably and realistically break down from the weight of his responsibility to save the world after the chitauri invasion. not a lot of people liked iron man 3. its not about realism.
