I still can't believe how the series ended, Suns were beating the Mavs every time they meet during the regular season for a long time now and not to mentioned continued that streak with a 2-0 lead in the start of this series, but Luka and the Mavs got over that hump and beats them when it mattered the most. Props to Luka and entire Mavs organization and congrats in beating the #1 seed!

Then coming to the next season, being the best team out of everyone, only to choke in the most important game of their season yet, in just the halftime.

The worst blowout was all the way back in 1948 with the Philideplhia Warriors against the St. Louis Bombers. Dallas-Phoniex is the worst blowout by a home team in game 7 in the modern era. Edit: Forgot to say that the home team had to be a top 2 seed in the conference.

As a Suns fan who used to live in Phoenix, this collapse is the worst I could imagine. It's worse than losing in 92-93 with Barkley's Suns. I didn't bet money, but if you had told me the Suns wouldn't be in the Finals, I would have never believed you. I think they have to let Ayton walk, or do a sign and trade, let CP3 go as well. It's basically a rebuild. Feel bad for Booker, but I don't see any other options. If Ayton was the player the suns needed, they would have beaten Milwaukee last year but he's a non-factor on defense. It's just hard for me to believe that they didn't have the right pieces in place.

It's funny. I cheered for the Suns (2017-2022). They were one of the most enjoyable teams to watch 2019-20 along with Dallas for me... But this had to happen. They got cocky without winning. Not to mention, the players and their fans complain about flopping or physical play when they are one of the biggest flopping teams.

It's harder for Ayton to get rebounds/block shots when he's switching and having to guard the perimeter. I don't understand this strategy. He is basically useless guarding guys like Luka on the perimeter and then you don't have a rim protector

Before game 3 against Dallas, he was very healthy and boastful. Game 3 and on, he has quad injury. lol! He played the same amount of minutes as the first 2 games. The only reason he only played 23 minutes in game 4 was because he was in foul trouble, not because of injury.

I believe Ayton is still decent he was just never going to reach his full potential on the Suns. They had Booker already as their #1 and I doubt they planned on playing through him a lot through the post and they don't seem to want him to shoot outside of the paint for some reason. For example he's 12 of 35 from 3 (34%) from his lone season in college, in the NBA he's 14 of 56 from 3 (25%) in 4 seasons in the NBA. He's not really going to improve as a shooter if you don't allow him to shoot and yes there's potential since he shoots 75% from the line for his career.

I think it's just how the mavs adjusted to guarding chris and the suns rather then chris falling off. Gotta give the mavs props on switching it up on the suns, thinking basketball made a super informative video on how the mavs locked up the suns and how the suns did not change anything at all.

What's wild is in the last 4 games of the Dallas series the efficiency was still there. He combined for 18/36 (50%fg) so it's not like he was missing an unusual amount or they had him locked up. He just didn't shoot as much in those games.

I've always thought CP3 should've asked OKC to trade him to the Lakers or the Bucks a few yrs ago. He chose the Suns had his chances didn't work for reasons shown above. But if LeBron and AD, or Giannis and Middleton are the 2 stars above him able to dominate and most importantly take over in the clutch he can then just pass the ball and orchestrate. And shoot wide opens in key moments making it very easy to close. He chose the hardest path to win a title because he beileved in himself too much. Because even if the nets beat the Bucks they too beat the Suns last yr. He is a great PG but he struggles to come through and finish the job. Almost like as soon as you start to beileve the most in him that's when he collapses. Plus between Ayton and Book I never really beileved in that help vs the help he could've had. OKC was down to send him anywhere he wanted in exchange for picks and free cap. So Similar to Melo when he played for Denver instead of making plans with Wade and LeBron he chose to sign a full max (worked out because he ain't getting that rebound for chip number 2) after that he gets to NYC has another chance to go join a super team takes the money offered doesn't win.
