I was dating this girl in 1966 an ths was "our song". We broke up and went our separate ways. We got back together in 1972, but broke up for a second time. Over the years whenever I heard this song, I would think of her. We got back together in 2009 when I found her on Facebook. Lo and behold, by the end of August, we got married! I guess the third time was the charm!
I just Love hearing Florence Ballard's voice when she sings, it's beautiful and I'll always hear a Symphony in my Heart for you Flo. Love you Sweet Angel.
Definitely can hear Flo and Mary, they really stand out with their wonderful voices especially Flo. I love her the best. Still hear a symphony for you Florence Ballard, be at peace sweet soul.
Diana Ross is different class. That’s why it’s called (in my opinion) Diana Ross and the supremes. Flo and Mary are magical and the three of them make the sound unique. I’m 62 and play their music on the juke box in my local pub and the youngsters love it. The music/sound is timeless. Also these new mixes give us oldies something else to listen to. I feel privileged to have listened to them all these years . 💙
@Tartanjock - The group were originally the Supremes and you should know the name was changed to bring out Diana Ross by Berry Gordon.... Look it up, you'll also find the reason why and it's nothing to do with Diana Ross being a different class. That's just your opinion. My opinion is also that Diana Ross was a different class, just lower than Flo and Mary
@@lilyleon1475 WOW Lily! As you said it's just opinions. Sounds like you're criticising me for preferring Diana Ross over Flo and Mary. I respect your prefrence for Flo and Mary.
@@thormuckle- I wasn't criticising, just straightening things up a little. You made your comment about Diana seem like it is a fact and I wanted to be clear it is merely your opinion, that's all
Oh God, I hear a symphonyyyyyyy! Baby, baby, keep standing close to me, ouuu so close to me, baby baby! I fnkng love this song!!!!! Don't let this moment end, keep standing close to me........
There will never be voices or music like this ever again. They are one of a kind. Many can copy but never come close to the artisty these gorgeous women did....epic😊
"I Hear A Symphony" was the break thru song that really "matured" The Supremes. Even though this song is filled with "Baby, Baby's" their previous hits were laced with "Baby, Baby's" but in a "bubblegum" type of fashion. "Where did our love go", "Baby Love", etc. This was the one that shot them to "beyond stardom", " legends" would be a good word.
I always wondered what goes thru Holland, Dozier, Holland minds as they write and erase, and add, and produce, to just put together fantastic legendary songs. Baby I Need Your Loving by The Four Tops was produced and put to vinyl, literally overnight. They didn't just throw some crap together to get a song produced. They are geniuses and I bet as they look back at their memories of making these unforgettable hits, I bet they say, what was I smokin'? it was all good. I Hear A Symphony is another classic that like you say, shot to the #1 song in weeks, and for good reason,. This song was phenomenal for its day. Reach Out I'll Be There, Don't Mess With Bill (Smokey's baby) songs like these made Motown what it was in the day, and continues to capture our youth today.
Beautiful rendition, really shows the vocal talents of Mary and Florence, not just Diana. It's always been a Favourite of mine . Hands down, these gorgeous ladies were the best Fenale Vocal Group.
As always, you do a great job remixing the classic songs of the Supremes............and, as always, you enhance and bring out the angelic harmonies of Mary AND Florence. "I Hear A Symphony" was one of the first single releases in which the beautiful harmonies of Mary and Flo were not only softened, but buried deep behind the music. You give them their just due! Thank you, again Mosogotam! I finally HEAR A SYMPHONY of Supremes!
A thousand violins steel the air . . . Makes me think of my son Jamie who died aged 25. That’s how I feel when I remember him . . . A fantastic young man
I love this. Diana had & still has a wonderful voice. I have seen her so many times in concert here in the UK. She is that rae thing of being even better live. John Sivorn.
This is clear proof that the background vocals of Mary and Flo should have been more pronounced. I often wondered how the two of them tolerated the disrespect of their talents.
love the supremes but on the original songs it's so hard to clearly hear flo & mary so it's great to hear these versions that show their true potential as a trio vocally! love them! best line up of the supremes in my opinion!
@@carlosleon8224 Flo is definitely on the tune. Her voice is audible and she is also credited. Don’t know where people get this sort of false info from.
Incredible job. So nice to hear Mary and Flo!! I hated it when Motown started lowering the background vocals so the lead singer’s vocals would stand out!!
You've given me a true love and ev'ry day I thank you love For a feeling that's so new, so inviting, so exciting Whenever you are near, I hear a symphony A tender melody pulling me closer, closer to your arms Then suddenly, oh, your lips are touching mine A feeling so divine 'til I leave the past behind I'm lost in a world made for you and me Whenever you are near I hear a symphony play sweet and tenderly Ev'ry time your lips meet mine my baby Baby, baby, I feel a joy within Don't let this feeling end Let it go on and on and on now baby Baby, baby, those tears that fill my eyes I care not for myself but for those Who've never felt the joy we've felt Whenever you are near I hear a symphony each time you speak to me I hear a tender rhapsody of love, love Baby, baby, as you stand up holding me Whispering how much you care A thousand violins fill the air now Baby, baby, don't let this moment end Keep standing close to me Oh so close to me, baby, baby Baby, baby, I hear a symphony, a tender melody Ah it goes on and on
The horns in this one and background key changes are "excellente" in this version! This is killer and LOVE IT MAN ~!!!!!!!!!! ohhhhhh awwwwwww Once again THANKS mosogotam ~!!!! Can't stop smiling~!!!! :)
THIS IS ABSOLUTE 'BEST'! It should've been extended. And as it is, it drives home the 'beauty' and the magic that is there, and I cried even. Brought tears! Masterpiece! THANK You for such a feeling! God Bless YOU AND your 'work'! I LOVE IT! C.J.
So great. Brings back memories. My favorite Supremes song, and I wish the original recording had been extended like this version, at least on the L.P. Thanks for the effort you took in making this.
Mosogotam........you did it again! Great re-working, and I love the way you enhanced Mary's and Flo's vocals. On the original release, their vocals are buried in the musical arrangement! Now, this is how the Supremes should have sounded. Love it! Keep 'em coming! WE love ALL the Supremes!
Wow I made an account with RU-vid just to comment on this video. I love your extended versions of the Supremes. So much heart and soul. Thank you so much for sharing!
Since I discovered your excellent extended versions of great songs of the past, I can't get away from the computer. I am now going into hour number six, and don't want to stop. My dog is wondering why I haven't taken him out for a walk in a while.
I was 9 years of age when I first listened to this sensational song. In 1966, this song was being played on local AM radio stations. Fun days in the Chi, when I was young.
Such sweet Music to my ears. Every ooh and aah. That Florence and Mary sang was an Integral part of the Supremes Sound.and Diana cut through the Microphone..as a kid in the 1960's I at 8 years old catch the Bus to Boss Ugly Bob's Record Store to buy their records.. Neighborhoods were safe then.. I would play one side of the Record and turn it over and Side Two was a hit Too! The Supremes influenced and Inspired Billions..I went on to acquire a Degree in Jazz. Because the Inspired me too.
Thank you so much for the incredible extended version of this classic song by the world famous trio. The accompanying photos appropriately highlight the fame and glory of the "Sweethearts of The 1960's," the legendary SUPREMES!
You are the BEST in the West yes😊😊! Your Hard work and dedication is really paying off yep😊😊! Abd it shows too😊😊. Make it the Best in everything you do and Bless your Hearts too😊❤😊
Beg your pardon. Not with the Chantells and the pointer sisters and Labelle. They were not even the best at Motown. Not with The Velvetlettes,The Vandellas and featuring Martha Reeves. Then theMarvelettes. Then came The Supremes.
Florence Ballard and mary Wilson their voices really makes this song the hit that it is that back ground hook is off the chain people teach your kids about the Motown sound
Perhaps the most beautiful song written for them by the brilliant team of Holland-Dozier-Holland... HDH was the TRUE Sound of Young America. When they left, Motown died.
+Gerald Johnson Awww MAN>>>>Great Job buddy...I love it even more than I thought I could possibly love this song......I only wish It Had the HD sound of todays work........You DID GREAT DUDE ~!!!! APPLAUSE and KUDOS ~!!! :) I PUSH YOU UP>>>>> ~!!!
The sensational sixties,,, Supreme sounding symphony. Man when Flo and Mary break out the baby baby’s , consummate back up singing and a stunning style.
James Wayne Those were confused years but out of it America matured and great talent like the Supremes emerged. It is now part of America's experience base and what makes us so formidable in a way adversaries are not likely to fully appreciate to their potential detriment. But despite that effort doomed by political stupidity as a boy I held dear the image of America's soldiers fighting hard and bravely in very difficult circumstances. On the other hand I often fell asleep listening to the Supremes with the radio under my pillow.
