Restricting salt is a commonly recommended to help lower blood pressure. But does it really help? Are there downsides to restricting salt (hint - there are and I cover those in this video).

I ended up in hospital as my BP was over 200 and before that I was lying in bed with a fast heart rate. In hospital they told me my potassium was low. Nothing else was found to be an issue. I now have lost weight and always try to keep my sodium and potassium up including an electrolyte drink. I think the sodium / salt message put out there by health authorities needs urgently revised, as many people I know do not take salt in anything or avoid it as much as they can. I would stress that is to take proper salt like celtic sea salt not refined table salt.

Reverse causation is probably the explanation for why low salt intake is associated with increased mortality.

Great info. Here's a question for you, I'm a 68 yr young female, what would cause instant rise in body temp as soon as I wake up and move BEFOE even getting out of bed in thy morning? Much like that of a hot flash but not the same. Hor glasses have been give for a while. Thanks in advance.
