I didn’t follow the drama around how this was released very closely, but hasn’t Entom basically left the internet over this? What was the point of this much drama over a fake leak lmao
@Ben-zg8xk easy, it back fired horribly Entom from what I remember on the hell hole that is FNAF Twitter was a strange guy, but people took them seriously cause he's a leaker people put their faith in, and when you break people's trust like that you kinda set yourself up like that Apparently from what I've heard there was alot of back and forth about how Talbert was real/fake before the doc even came out Just, super weird shit man
Yeah, it's weird to think that someone's so desperate to be right that they'll knowingly fake evidence... which then proves that they're not right because they had to fake evidence.
@TiredMoonRabbit that's the weird thing, he said it wasn't then backpeddaled, from what I've heard at least, maybe they wanted to appease the small group bugging them about it or something? But again that's also just a rlly weird thing to put time and effort into
Having been working on a published journal recently, I can confirm that anywhere between 3 and 10 print drafts will be made, with the earliest ones being utter nonsense or old schoolwork just to see the requirements for the particular printing press
Imo, even if the book was real, the document itself claimes to a salvaged version of a scrapped draft version of a book that hasn't been officially published in that form. It wouldn't make a difference either way. It's not like the information would be relevant or anything. Some fnaf fans just like to make a ruckus out of everything.
@@SaggyWaggy-is8it even if this is a glorified fanfiction, thats barely the most outlandish part. Out of the 5 kids, its Cassidy and the two kids who do canonically share names with existing characters; even in the actual canon it sounds like weird fanfiction that never gets elaborated upon lol
Yeah, I trust Scott on this one. It just does not seem his style to outright lie about his story. He is definitely a troll but it's almost always to surprise us not cover things up. Especially something so trivial as old ways the lore could have gone.
Yeah, and along with that he did say he does get sent lore stuff by companies he rejects constantly, so it not even being that and just being 100% fake by his word kinda seals it.
I feel like Scott is too much of a good Christian to be a liar, but also his response was the classic witness phrase of " I do not recall" He didn't outright say it was fake. Just that he has no memory of it
@@klaykid117He did say it was fake after taking a look at the leaks, one of the reasons being that it had characters that wouldn’t be introduced until much later. Now, that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s telling the truth, since the presence of characters like the Stitchwraith already seriously called his claims into question. The more damning point is the emails he supposedly sent not matching his writing style, as mentioned by Kane Carter who actually does have many emails from Scott. The fact that the entom defenders got really mad when asked for proof and blocked people certainly didn’t help.
If the way for this leak to be real relies on Scott lying, I think it's fair to say that it's fake. Think about it this way: when it comes to confirmedly *real* FNAF-related stuff, how often has Scott ever said anything definitive and absolute? Pretty much never, right? When he's messing with the fanbase, it's usually through deliberate ambiguity. And it would've been really easy to be ambiguous about this if he wanted to do that. The fact that the leak just happens to feed in to the idea that the FNAF lore is much more planned out and considered than it appears to be... makes me even more sceptical. I don't think Scott would have any real reason to deny that he was thinking about some plot element earlier on if it were actually true. What would be the point? It's not going to matter to almost anyone, barring a handful of theorists. I doubt Scott's whole world revolves around them.
@@AldinRamic - I think it was improvised as Scott went along. There were probably ideas that he'd thought of including in the next game, once it become obvious that there would *be* a next game. But there are probably also set-ups for ideas that were abandoned, or loose ends left dangling just in case he felt like doing something with them later. The way I think of FNAF's story is like a book that's being published chapter by chapter while it's still being written. Normally, if you were writing a book, if you wrote something that set up a plot thread that you then decided to drop, you might go back and change what you wrote. But when each chapter is published pretty much straight away, that kinda stops being an option.
@FTZPLTC Thank you for responding. And nice analogy (is that the right word?) if I remember correctly Scott himself has used chapters Talking about the story sometimes. And that makes sense Given what Scott said in his first audio interview if I remember correctly He didn't have it all planned out. Now I think I have finished watching the interview probably should sometime. Btw to me your response sounded very professional.
I think the fact that Entom is a big proponant of stitchgames and the fact that this "leak" has a lot of stitchgames forward information in it is not a coincidence.
As a note on the Pinky Pills stuff, i read the entire drama post on her that was on the fnaf subreddit. A lot of it was frustrating that it was even being brought up; like the fact they used stock photos as reference for art. Like okay?? Thats standard and expected for artists?? But they were acting like it was plagiarism or theft when it is literally just using reference. It was absurd. The rest of the stuff outside of that was understandable; Pinky Pills has some wild interests that people are understandably uncomfortable with, and her obsession with Scott did come off creepy as hell. But, people should LEAD with that. Not the normal stuff like “ooh look theres a stock photo Pinky Pills referenced to draw this hand!!” like yeah thats what artists do…
I despise this recent trend of people taking the word of random ecelebs as more valuable than people actually involved with the thing they’re talking about I hate the modern internet so much it’s unreal
Also I’d just like to say that the book has a lot of dsaf references. Dsaf (Dayshift at Freddy’s) is a fan game and this book takes multiple plot points from it (killer making puppet to experiment with the kid and Steven being phone guy for example).
I noticed the Puppet connection right away- it’s one of my favorite plot points from DSaF- but I didn’t catch the Steven Phone Guy thing. What were they thinking? Like, that’s so obvious.
To me, this is definitively fake and Scott isn’t lying. Unless he has a grudge against them, why would he tell them in an email that it was fine to be released and then turn around and say he has never seen it before and that the emails and book are fake. That doesn’t make any sense.
I never believed these leakers for a second. The Scholastic leak felt so disingenuous and if Scott wanted us to know if the books were in the universe he would have done so already. The Talbert files had cool ideas tho, so rip that.
Well, it did work is the thing. Literally the only thing that could screw it up is Scott actually deigning to dispel the rumors himself, something he does on an extremely rare basis. I guess they were just banking on him not responding to it.
Learning this was fake hurt my soul. I spent many late nights researching this thing. Also on the pinky post, people were randomly saying that Scott was lying and that the Files were real and Scott was trying to throw Entom under the bus
I swear, every time I start gassing up this series to a friend to get them interested in trying out the games or something, stuff like this happens and the Fandom is in shambles.
that's just what happens when mentally ill children spend spend too much time on the internet. this isn't a fnaf only thing, every major fandom with minors invovled eventually leads to shit like this.
From what I understand, I mean this with the utmost respect, Entom is not well from what I was told. I don't know if Entom is capable of having all this attention drawn on a document they wrote or even know what to do with it. A big theme I've noticed around these recent dramas, is that there is a bunch of unsound people chiming in leading to needless drama. We really need to stop giving these people attention. By arguing with them, it makes them think what they say has enough substance worth arguing about. Scott seems like the only sane person here, as he is minding his buisness, and working on the anniversity.
I am just realizing there was a "drama", thanks to the video XD. There are a lot of dramas in many of my hobbys that i just came to fnaf to have honest to god fun with the theorysing (sorry my written english). Thanks for the video ❤
Entom announced on the freddit discord earlier that he still thinks it's real and is eventually going to release an in-depth response. He said that he doesn't want to just make a video of him "flipping through the pages", he wants it to be really informational. You might be making a part 3 to this after all in a few months.
I think that in fairness to the falsifiers, they did a good job of seeding in JUST enough weirdness in the format and context (such as Ballora's name being wrong) that it feels like one of those weird behind the scenes looks where certain details that are so obvious to a modern viewer seem so alien in hindsight. I'll be honest, a lot of stuff in this had me fooled, and I keep having to remind myself that these documents are not at all real or relevant to anything going forward.
Totally know the feeling man… you know about someone, and then you learn that they might possibly be acting dishonestly. You don’t have any personal connection, and it still makes you feel bad.
I hope that Entom was lied to by a bad source or something. I don't wanna assume the worst in anyone here cause I struggle to imagine why Entom would throw away all credibility here -- or why Scott would lie for no reason when the alleged email clearly shows him saying it'd be fine to release. I REALLY don't wanna think Entom would fake this whole ordeal just to push the theories his friend group likes. If he was lying, I hope at the very least the reasons like he was trying to screw with friends or whatever and it blew up past his intentions and that's why we had the brief cover-up thing happen. I dunno, this situation is dumb.
it's pretty obvious what happened they made a funny hoax (like most fnaf fans did in 2015) and it majorly backfired, now his friends have to keep the grift alive and continue to gaslight people lest they get skinned alive fuck around find out lol?
@@SaggyWaggy-is8itWould it really be preferable to call Scott a liar than to have somebody come forward and admit it was an old hoax gone wrong (oops, sorry)? The first option would surely be a rougher road, it's not like the community would believe it and they'd all have to sacrifice any reputation they had for... what? I don't buy that.
@@Haley_Halo Scott Cawthon has no reason to lie about a book that nobody has access to. He could've just confirmed it canon and denounce it's cannonicity. Entom and his friends have lied before, literally about the talbert files too, why wouldn't they do it again? it obviously got out of hand, they probably didn't want this to become a major topic of discussion (and definetly not in this kind of way)
@@SaggyWaggy-is8it Nothing in my response indicated I thought he did. I said Entom (&Friends) would have an easier time overall if they admitted it was a hoax than to become outcasts by calling Scott a liar, therefore I don't buy that anyone would do that to save face or for a headcanon. I think they believed their friend and have to contend with the dissonance in a way that we don't.
@@Haley_Halo If they admitted it was a hoax they'd get linched or worse (entom got doxxed just for saying the talbert files were fake or whatever). you really expecting twitter fnaf to be normal huh? easier to pin the blame on scott than take any responsobility becasue nobody's got the balls to hurt scott but they're willing to fuck with some kids on the internet. I don't really blame them, just wish they weren't so confrontational about it.
im watching this as i type so forgive me if what i say is brought up in the video, but im pretty sure the talbert files cover is an edited version of what was the official cover for the freddy files for a while before it was changed ahead of the list. that cover is from an ACTUAL early draft. the only real change is the name of the fictional author.
The way I had no idea that this genuinely was a drama in the fandom. I’m very glad I keep my FNAF internet experience small because this franchise is special to me and I do not need a random drama ruining it
This whole situation pretty much destroys Entom’s credibility, even if the scholastic email is real, it can’t be trusted due to the fact that it could be faked.
Leakers leak for notoriety. What gains one more fame than finding a totally real super secret early draft of a book that confirms your specific theories? Entom is obviously lying.
Theorizing is fun, leaks of lost media are interesting, but ultimately people just need to learn *patience* and to wait for the actual games and books to come out. Stop trying to peer into the future or into alternate timelines lol. Ultimately, are you a fan of the games or a fan of the fandom?
why would this book even be made anyway? i would believe this alot more if it was a text document or scibbles on a piece on paper for lore why waste money on making a whole book dedicated to ideas its just so weird
if you plan on doing another reaction stream, could you do a reaction to "we solved fnaf and we're not kidding" by duel process theory? i think their take is pretty interesting & i'd love to hear your thoughts on it!!
If it's the 2 hour video then no. I don't like the "My first video is a 2+hour long breakdown of all of my theories with "ALL LORE SOLVED" or variations of that" in the title format of theories personally in terms of watching them.
Genuinely very good video though- check it out, I am kind of won over by it and I also hate that format of video/ arrogant phrasing generally but they got both specific details snd the narrative satisfaction sides of it very well
Im still so confused on entoms involvement in this, isn't the only thing he has said about the talbet file was that they weren't real, and then he left, was he actually involved in this is there any evidence.
entom had a group with a bunch of friends, he finds a listing for "the talbert files", he emails "scott" about it and then reads it with his friends, "scott" confirms it's authenticity and then entom decides he's not going to leak it (even though him and his friends have made a whole 10+ page doc) and instead of deleting everything it somehow get's leaked to the wider community. entom says it's fake and not real for like a year until the talbert files stuff comes back full swing at which point entom starts acting weird (pissing people off). he says it's fake then says it's real and then says it's fake (or something like that) then deactivates because people are being mean to him. his friends then make posts about the situation and confirm it's real (one of them says they had entoms approval). Scott comes in and says "no lol" and then entoms crew (because entom is gone and wont come back) defend him and call scott a liar and a gaslighter (which ironically enough it's exactly what they fucking did for a year straight so pot calling kettle back lmao) anyways, entom lied in one way or another, he wont come and confirm anything, he wont actually reveal the book (you can't read the tablert files you can only see "pictures" of like two pages and the cover) and his fans and friends will continue to conspire about how scott cawthon is a gaslighting girlboss or something. (this is why you don't use twitter)
They did say it was fake until a friend of theirs revealed some DMs in which Entom said the files were actually real. Then no one believed them no matter which they said. By the time Entom left Twitter and since 'the cat was out of the bag' a bunch of people started admitting to having known about the book and (by what they were shown) that it was indeed real.
@@SaggyWaggy-is8it they had to have know Scott would respond about it right? If they came out and said it was real he would still have responded and we would still be right here, so why say it's fake at all? Did he have second thoughts and his friends decided to continue to push the lie?
i also would like to say that i dont agree with the sentiment that entom doesnt like scott. they disagreed on how he handles some aspects of the franchise but they've also been quite positive about him in other occasions.
The thing with the Pinkypills situation is that all of the information and proof for it had been compiled for at least a week before hand, in a mega thread and pinned on the freddit, which makes Scott not even willing to even glance like that serious neglect of the situation, if not just a lie of some sort. (Not to mention most of this information had been known for MUCH longer and people have been trying to tell Scott this for a long while)
Scott seems incredibly busy at the moment, you'd think if he saw that post he'd nip it in the bud (like usual) or just completetly ignore it completetly (depending on context), he probably would've solved the talbert shit the same day it happened if he was online at all.
I think reviving a drama is not the way to go, like especially if you are compiling a history of Pinky Pills, of all people, then you have way too much time on your hands. It feels like holding onto a grudge more than anything, when its better to move on from that. It is very concerning that you care this much about a freelance artist who worked for Scott. Regardless if Scott hired her or not, ultimately its her skillset he's after. She has done some messed up stuff, but that doesn't give you the right to be judge, jury, and executioner.
@@TrifectShow I think there's some fair arguments to be made about having a potential predator be an official contributer to a franchise that mostly appeals to minors but that's more of a fiszi thing than pinky. Making crude remarks, shitty decisions and drawing weird "pedophilic" art of cartoon minors shouldn't exactly get you banned or fired but you should probably be under heavy scrutiny. This fandom is just chronically online and will do anything but go outside sadly.
@@TrifectShow it’s because she is actively a danger to the community with Scott’s endorsement and the fact she has a role in the work of the franchise, also she put in references to her own gross work to cannon art
it's really not. it's literal fanfiction 😭 most of the talbert files document isn't even the talbert files, it's entom's pals talking about it and making theories.
I don’t give a shit what Scott says. I still believe this leak is 100% real. Why did it take Scott days of discussion before he said “Oh yeah it’s fake”! He should have said that from the start. Instead he pretended he had no clue what the Talbert Files were and said “MAYBE it is an early draft and I don’t RECALL writing that”. Ultimately, this lore is non-canon. But I think Scott is lying when he claims it is fake. Also, remember when Scott said he was “retiring” and handing the franchise over to someone else? That was a lie too!
