Struggling with your arm path? Here’s a counter-intuitive cue/drill that “clicks” for a lot of guys.
By examining the overhead serve in tennis, we can draw several key parallels to a pitching arm action in order to create a simple, yet effective, drill/feel to re-pattern a pushy or inefficient arm path.
One of the biggest benefits to this cue is the feel of accelerating the arm from behind the body, rather than pushing into ball release via the tricep.
Another key benefit for higher arm slot pitchers who struggle with a lazy or rotational glove side is feeling tension and elevation in the glove arm, helping to create some shoulder tilt and deliver the throwing arm back downhill.

What separates Tread Athletics?
Unlike most training philosophies, we take holistic approach to strength, power, and velocity development. We don’ t just evaluate and address strength and performance, but lifestyle factors, movement dysfunction, and nutritional habits as well. Rather than fitting athletes into one cut and dry mold, we adapt our programming to address each athlete’s individual needs and goals.

Yup this helped a lot. Dry reps are suave. For extended, early external, no scap load action. To nice compact elbow driven, scap loaded, on time flip up. But in my dry reps. Done a lot of them and it’s becoming more natural so I’d assume it’d translate easier. Will update this comment after a couple days depends on well it translates.

Just found your channel, keep doing what you are doing! You are really great at explaining the feeling of getting into certain positions that pictures, videos and most athletes cannot explain as well as you have done. Very well done!

Is there a similar drill for youth? This seems too conceptual for 9-11 year olds.
