I was close to choosing the easy way out that year but something about this tune gives me a warm and positive feeling of a better outlook and future. I met the love of my life a few months later. My daughter was born on new years day, so this song always has so much meaning to me. To new starts and positive futures :), onwards and upwards, which is exactly what my daughter is. The best thing that happened to me. She is now 7, and I've started telling her that this is the theme tune to her birth 😂 she will either love or hate it 😂 x

46 years ago tonight, 12-31-77, I was married. I had my love for 40 years until they passed in 2017. Every year, every New Year's Eve, I relive the best moment of my life. I never knew there could be such a love. I was so lucky when God smiled and led me to the love of my life. Now a widower of 78, I recall how wonderful life once was and loved I once was.

I remember when I was in primary school the school had a competition to see who in each class could recite Auld Lang Syne in the original Scots the best for Burns night. I came runner up in Primary seven and I was so proud of myself. While this sounds amazing is nothing like hearing it being sang in Scots.
