This is my hometown!!! I’ve grown up with RR donuts my entire life, so have my parents, grandparents AND great grandparents. Always has been the same, and even though they are busier and busier every weekend everything is always the exact same. Best donuts you can find in Texas
I tried to explain Round Rock Doughnuts to my friend from South Carolina over the phone. He said it's just a doughnut. Oh no my friend. I am 54 yrs old, lived all over the country and by far in my 54 years the best melt in your mouth doughnuts I have ever had.
Legendary. It's a great part of Central Texas lore. There's something special about a Saturday morning just after 5 am, and I'm waiting in the Drive-Thru at Round Rock Donuts for some donuts and kolaches. I'm from Dallas but every now and then I'd take a road trip down there for a great experience to the morning. There's nothing else like them anywhere.
I worked at the freddys up the street as a manager from that location and whenever someone pulled up with doughnuts id tell them "how bad do you want them doughnuts ill comp out your whole tab" lmfaoooo
About 30 years ago I went to Oklahoma for a wedding. I was talking to the wedding photographer. He ask were I lived. I told him Round Rock, Texas. He replied, “The place with the donuts!” Even now, we are still know for the donuts.
I used to drive from Kerrville to Round Rock just for these donuts. You need to do the Czech Stop if you have not already. I used to drive there too just for the kolaches.
I'm from New York, I lived in Virginia and now I live in ohio. I came to visit Austin Texas and I must say. These are arguably the best donuts I have ever had
I live in Cedar Park and they don’t compare to the original location!❤ The original location makes them light and flaky. These are the ones for first timers.
I REMEMBERED WHEN I WAS THE ONE THAT TOLD YOU TO KEEP ON DOING VIDOES WHEN YOU STOPPED MAKING THEM AND OUT OF A SUDDEN 2 AGO YOU STARTED MAKING VIDEOS AGAIN AND YOU HAVENT STOPPED IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU
I've noticed that the donut holes have more glaze to the actual donuts. And the donuts are about 50/50. The Texas sized is more dough and less glaze. The hint of vanilla is great.... But the donuts with no glaze and rolled in granulated sugar in the best! To try one just ask for a glaze with no glaze and rolled in sugar. Sadly after 6 ( when they stop frying) i couldnt get one
Yes thats because glaze usually has a bit of moisture of its own, but pure sugar doesnt last long on top of a doughnut because it draws moisture from the doughnut+air and becomes a bit soggy + loses appearance.
Honestly, these are good for like 2 bites. But if you’re even a little bit health conscious at all, that’s about all you can eat. They taste like they’re coated in butter. I get instant heart burn when eating these. But hey, to each their own. Just wish they offered some without that final glaze they put over them
