Join host Shane McAuliffe to get a taste of what makes Snoopy’s Pier such a special place in the heart of Corpus Christi and check out the beautiful seaside view on this episode of The Texas Bucket List.
Snoopy's. HELL YEAH.... I lived there for a year.... and FANTASTIC place to eat! Spot on !!!! 💯 cocktail sauce with tarter sauce.... combo made in heaven... I do that!
Since the change in ownership, the food has gone down hill so my family which has been going there for over thirty years have stopped going … it’s a shame … this WAS a great restaurant with a fantastic view for sunsets … now it’s a shadow of its former self …
Tourist trap, not for locals. Nahhh I've lived here for almost 40 years and was a customer for 25, the fish is cod, you have to pay extra (when I went) for frozen mahi mahi (at the time). I do not intend on going back. So damned sad. That's my childhood place
Went there for the 1st time last year. Of course, the view is incredible. But the food was excellent! It's good to see a place with a reputation keep up the good work.
Whats interesting about this video is the fact that many places you can't find mahi on there menu because it's hard to find and MAHI MAHI is part of the dolphin family and in NYC it's unheard of just like swordfish or mullet or sardines fresh or mako which is baby shark and soft shell crab and catfish or monkfish or poor man's lobster and the price of lobster has jumped and crabmeat has also jumped up because I go to the market twice a month and I compare and shop and I know where to shop and knowing the prices as I am in the industry NYC for many years
We love Snoopy's but it is more nostalgia admittedly. I just wish they had more non fried selections. Blackened red fish would be awesome. Broiled fish.... Shrimp cocktail.... Anything that isn't fried. We still visit every time we go to Corpus (about 10-12 times a year), but the kids and wife don't get it. They always complain that almost everything's is fried. The kids love Scoopys though!!
@@CarlosG806 I love Blackbeard's, but that one is also more nostalgia. They no longer sell the blackened redfish sandwich which was awesome. Our recent favorite is the redfish at Angry Marlin. They also have homemade bread pudding that the kids love.
@@JakeValentineStory gotta give that place a try!! Pier 99 used to be our favorite spot but personally, i feel likes it’s gone down!! What good BBQ joints do you recommend cause Bill Miller is a JOKE!!
@@CarlosG806 as much as I love visiting Corpus, it isn't a BBQ city. I have no answer for that unfortunately. I will say that the best sushi place we ever visited in Texas is in Rockport. It's a hidden gem called Sushi Luck run by an old Japanese couple. I've lived in Japan and visited a couple dozen times. It's awesome. It's also right next to the Boiling Pot which the kids love because they dump the seafood on butcher paper on your table. Pier 77 is a Vietnamese run place also in Rockport/Fulton area and has a great vegetable base clear broth seafood soup. Not the cream based chowder kind of soup. Their fish sandwich is fried perfectly. We don't typically prefer fried, but they do it right. It isn't greasy.
@@CarlosG806 I don't go out for BBQ there but when I do it's Mac's Barbecue , 4354 S Alameda St, It's really good. Once I find a place that's good....I keep going there.
I just looked at reviews on the internet using 2 very popular sites, and there are twice as many bad reviews, as there are good ones. I’ll pass….the masses win.
This time the reviews are correct. Look - if you've been out fishing all day, especially with your kids, and you want to eat slightly better than Long John Silvers fried seafood then go to Snoopys. If not, don't say I didn't warn you
@@sandtoy11510 Oh I agree with that. Honestly I'm just normally not in the mood to eat overpriced fried food in the company of a ton of uncontrolled poor mannered kids from Alamo Heights or The Woodlands while their parents get too popped to safely make it back to their rental condo. When I first moved to Corpus I really liked going there and it seemed different. But it might have just been because I was 30? Closest I get now us Red Dot Pier!!
@@sandtoy11510Nope, it’s not very good, I mean they use frozen stuff from one of the largest food providers out there. Doc’s is right next door and MUCH better and they’ll cook your catch even
WARNING THIS PLACE USED TO BE GREAT! NOW THEY ARE NOT GOOD THEY CHANGED THE MAIN FISH YOU EAT THERE! Old owner was good brought in different type of fish, also the oyster price was very honest. New owner and GM water down what this place used to be.
No. Just no. It’s nothing but tasteless fried food. Do yourself a favor and go next door to Scoopy’s and Doc’s. You still get an amazing view and better food.
