a minor detail left out of this video is that geel advertised scrap tf constantly on the 4chan tf2g thread using a tripcode to identify himself. he also was a member of the tf2g irc channel and was not very well liked as he basically just advertised and occasionally gave away items without participating in discussion at all. when the footrest incident occurred, he immediately cut ties with 4chan and posted the infamous bait raffle. with the reputation 4chan has, it's pretty funny to me that he knew the footrest incident wouldnt go down well even there of all places.

Mechawreck is one of those few scandals I remember watching happen live (I was big into TF2 when he got exposed). I’ve always wondered what he’s been up to since. Hopefully he got help but we can never say with these types of people.

I'm glad a video about this is being made. This game's very near to me and I've been playing it for more than 10 years at this point (more than half of my life), the worst thing about the community in my opinion is shunning new players, gatekeeping and toxicity, and it was never always like this. There were periods in the late 2000s/early 2010s where it would still kind of flawed, but it was mostly wholesome. Mind you, its still currently not ALL bad, and I know there are genuine and wholesome areas of the TF2 community that are filled with cool people, but there is also so much BS, and noise you have to filter out before you can find it.

I put 15 in my bio to not get kicked from the communities I was in. I made friends with some people, and like a week after we became friends, they invited me to a discord server. Of course, I accepted because I didn't think anything of it. After joining, though, one of my "friends", a 20 something year old, sent me a video of him "pleasuring" himself to climax, at the time I knew what that stuff was but didn't care much about it. After he sent the video, he sent a message saying something along the lines of "Made this for you." I've since deleted that account and made a new one, so I don't remember exactly everything he said, but I do remember that I liked the attention so I played along, not sending any pictures or videos, but when he asked for me to tell him things, like what I was wearing or doing, I'd respond with something like "My underwear 🤭" or "fingering myself 😉" weird cringey shit. And he'd reply with something like how it made him hard or got him going before sending a picture or video. After like a month, I just got bored of the people and server and deleted discord. Like 2 years later is when I realized how absolutely disgusting the situation was, but I had forgotten their user on discord and amino, so I just decided to act like nothing happened. I still haven't told anyone about it, but I'm seeing a therapist this Friday, and will probably tell her about it.

I think the picture sent is taken from a fanfic webcomic bastardization of the character Princess Celestia called Princess Molestia, with that context it's quite easy to understand what's being implied by the pictures. I'm surprised this hasn't been talked more- I've been in a lot of TF2 communities back in the day and the amount of players I come across who normalizes pedophilia is pretty high up there- I know of atleast one admin in a server I used to frequent that would send nude pics to underage kids and nothing was ever done and it got swept under the rug and they continue to be part of that community.

Oh hey, that’s my post at 42:49. As time had gone on, I’ve been silently trying to wash myself of all this, and at the time, I was so very exhausted and scared of everything, including the fanbase of Mecha at the time calling me a liar and clout chasing, which ultimately caused me to become severely depressed and attempt suicide. Even now, I get chills just thinking of how everything went down, and hearing my own post read back to me 5 goddamn years later still stings. I often think about how idiotic I was at the time, and how I never should’ve gave in. Writing it off as “I was being pressured” feels wrong to me. But, what can you do? A few years thereafter, I quit the TF2 community due to the same community once again driving me to a breaking point, and since has pretty much killed my channel and drive to play the game due to all the drama that surrounds it, and especially me. My mental state nowadays has suffered greatly from the interactions I had, and I genuinely don’t think I’d ever recover from it. It hurts more that a good 300+ of my current sub count is from Mechawreck when he collaborated on a video with me… or was it the other way around..? Either way, it feels cheap now, and it sucks because I love making content, and TF2 content is where I felt most comfortable. But, all these interactions killed that dream, unfortunately. Thanks for reading this long if you have, I haven’t been able to reflect for a long while.

I know these videos must be hard to research and talk about, but they've helped me to realize that someone tried to do this to me when I used to play WoW. Possibly three someones? RP servers are wild lol. Thankfully I was too ace realize what was going on, but looking back it's kind of terrifying. As a teen, I was just so happy that adults were taking me and my writing seriously. They listened to me rant about my life...but also asked and talked about VERY suggestive stuff. Seeing these convo records have helped me put the conversations I had in perspective. Like yeah, they'd give me items, help me on raids, chat with me when I had breakdowns, but then the things they asked about just...It just makes me sad now.
