This ride used to scare me as a kid. The curse of staring into the eye, the giant snake, and being squashed by a Boulder were all very jarring to me as a kid. But now, I think this ride is amazing! Very impressive work put into it.

I remember when this ride first opened it had three different routes and all received cards that would help you translate the words on the walls. This is still my favorite ride in Disneyland.
All your life has been spent in pursuit of archaeological relics. Inside the Park are treasures beyond your wildest aspirations. You want to see it opened as well as I. My friend, we are simply passing through history. This, this *is* history.
In Buddhism, Mara was the demon god of Earthly Desire, who sought to maintain the endless cycle of death and rebirth, in order to perpetuate mankind's suffering for all eternity.
Thank you for doing this. This is my favourite theme park attraction ever. Riding across the rope bridge while the John Williams music plays is an indescribable feeling.
Thank you to everyone for watching the video! If you get the chance we sat down with Michael Frasca to talk about the future of theme parks and more! We had a great time and also reveal what's the next attraction we're covering this month! Check it out here --> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_RqtQbBHXr8.html
This is a must-ride every time I go to Disneyland, but truthfully there's so much going on during the rude that I never really understood the storyline! Thank you for this, you've made it so much better! I can't wait to ride it again next weekend!!
Being born in 92 and being about 6 or 7 and attending the park when Disney word was celebrating their 25 anniversary i must say it was such a unforgettable experience and magical time
I have been waiting for you to do a video about this ride. It truly is another one of the groundbreaking achievements by Disney. I have a vivid memory of going to Disneyland when this ride first opened. I was just four and a half years old. They told me I was not tall enough. I remember going back a year later, and I STILL was not tall enough. I went back again over two years later...I was FINALLY tall enough. I was so devastated those first two years. But the wait was WORTH IT!!! It remains to this very day one of my favorite rides of all time at ANY theme park EVER. SO creative, original, innovative, and exciting. Indiana Jones is also my favorite franchise under the Back to the Future Trilogy (1985-1990), Back to the Future: The Ride being ANOTHER one of my all time favorite rides at any theme park EVER. Thank you, Jack, for another, epic, beautiful, and nostalgic video. LOVERLY walks down memory lane.
No problem thetevinator! Sorry to hear you had to wait almost 4 years to experience what seems to be one of the best attractions at Disneyland, that must had felt like forever. Seems like we're in the same boat, BTTF and Indiana Jones were my favorite trilogies from the 80's and they still hold up pretty well today.
@@ThemeParkHistory Yeah, the wait did feel like it was forever. Good Lort. But the wait was ALL KINDS of WORTH IT. Brilliant. It is one of the greatest achievements by Disney, in general. Even though Indy isn't really a trilogy anymore with Crystal Skull and a 5th installment currently in development. Only true trilogies left stand are the Back to the Future Trilogy (1985-1990) and The Matrix Trilogy (1999-2003). But we definitely are in the same boat. No kidding. Love it. We dig old school cinema and nostalgia, in general.
Even though this video didn’t go in depth with Tokyo Disney Sea, thank you so much for talking about it in some way. The Tokyo park is by far my favorite theme park in the world, and I’ve been to almost every Disney resort they’ve made so far (I just need to go to Paris)
A few years ago, I went to Disney with my parents, my cousin, my uncle, and my grandparents. We all decided to go on this ride, but my mom and I were concerned my grandparents would hate it. In the middle of the ride, my mom looked at my grandpa and he had a HUGE grin on his face. It was the highlight of his trip
My experience with this ride is quite memorable. It was my first time in Disneyland and this was one of my most anticipated rides to go on. Throughout the day, the ride went down due to technical difficulties. As soon as the fireworks I ended, I ran to the Indiana Jones ride. Not even entering the temple, the ride went down and the cast members evacuated us. I waited for awhile in front of the ride, I gave up. However I then checked the Disneyland app, and noticed it went back up. I ran all the way over there and reached the vehicle boarding area. Ride went down again by the time I got there. However, the ride managed to work for me, and it was the grand finale for my day at Disneyland. Definitely one of the best rides in Disneyland
History of Big Thunder Mountain Disneyland Anaheim would be great. The ride was transformed and has a great back story that most people have never heard. I think there was even an audio record that was sold.
Well you've now officially covered two of my favorite all time rides--Mummy and Indiana Jones. This channel is amazing. Can't wait for next month's video!
Great video! This is one of my favorite attractions of all time because of the wonderful immersion and storytelling. It is a serious gem at Disneyland and DisneySea.
Great video! Though you do briefly touch on it here, and while it’s not as exciting as a full-on ride, doing a history of the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular would be a neat companion piece to this one.
Amazing video! I don't recall a Disney RU-vidr doing a video dedicated to the Indiana Jones Temple of the Forbidden Eye and Temple of the Crystal Skull for that matter.
My favorite ride of all time (along with Journey to the Center of the Earth). Love both versions, but slightly prefer Disneyland's for the legendary James Earl Jones as Mara!! The bug scene and the dart room are better in Tokyo though! Thank you for making this awesome video!!
Totally random, but thank you for including some cover art for early 90’s fail movies. I had been trying to remember from when I was super young the name of this movie I saw, I recognized it as black hole from your video and I’m beyond grateful to quit thinking about that random image in my brain.
When the new Jurrasic World ride is open will you make a video on it? Love the channel man seriously. I can tell you put a lot of work into these videos just don't over work yourself and have fun making these great videos.
In 2008 and 9 I worked at Indiana Jones at Disneyland. It was an absolute wonderful opportunity I can't begin to explain the magical experiences I've had. I've got to see this attraction first hand while walking through many times. I also got to ride this attraction many times everyday they're called show checks.
Thank you spy6443! While I appreciate the kind words, I'm not afraid to admit that Defunctland's production values and quality is so much better than what ours is at the moment. All we can do is to keep working on our product so one day we feel it's on par with that Kevin has created.
I was just there 4 days ago. Its been 20 years since I been here so it was new when I was here last. They made some minor changes to it, but it's still as amazing as I remembered. It must've been the fountain of youth cause for the the duration of that ride I was a kid again.
Love that feeling of fucking pure nostalgia i get whenever i see your guys uploads.. thank you guys for all your hard work on everything hope to see you guys the biggest of all youtubers!!!
Thank you Chris! Just a heads up, I sent you a follow up email to what we discussed about a week ago. I know your busy with everything but just wanted to make sure you received it.
This is my very favorite ride ever. I was so obsessed with it when I was 13 that I bought an Indiana Jones hat from that little store across the way and wore it every single time we went to Disneyland after that. ❤
one of my absolute favorites ever! indy is amazing and one of the best rides ever! two questions, what do you consider as the top 10 rides in the world? it can be any ride from any amusement park not just disney/universal? i’m guessing rides like journey, steel vengeance, mystic manor, pirates shanghai, symbolica, this ride, forbidden journey, spider man, etc. also, are any of these rides going to be a future video im sure they will because you make such awesome videos! keep it up!
Really nice job on this video man really cool love the opening to the video big fan of your videos man keep the good work man I love the Indiana Jones movies
