Yeah Roy here said about grinding paste to! We didn’t have none, just got that nut off and the threads have picked up 🤦😭 nightmare mate! Thanks for the advice Leslie I’ll get some paste mate 👍 got the other 3 to do now

Never had any luck with grinding paste done it once as advised and the the pump shaft and impeller sized solid so more expense and an unhappy gaffer and customer

@@mondodaftasabrush Hi Mondo, cant see why anything should seize, once the nut is free, you clean all the threads to remove any paste thats on the threads, so why would it seize?

I tried cutting paste found it never worked great for me., I use the thread chaser like one in video then brake cleaner and air line, then engine oil, run nut up to tight spot and do the old 5th turn forwards, 3/4 backwards, takes time but always gets there, a few spare nuts is always a Relief, this problem is common especially after bearing failure, end of the stub can flare out , I have done loads of these, fucked up but I enjoy them time flys in, end of the day all I've done is put one nut on 😂

get a Sealey SMS2008 drill bit sharpener, £56 use them on my cheap and expensive bits, night and day difference when you have sharpened one.

@@matthewwiddows6319 We had to learn to sharpen drills as you got a set issued to you and you could only get it replaced when it was an inch stub Those days you couldn't get a new jubilee clip from the stores it was return for and exchanged for a reconditioned one till the penny dropped that it wasn't worth it when it caused an engine failure and reconditioned clips where used for not coolant repairs Mac do and mend days when you had nowt

You cannot sharpen drills old fashion type drills or blacksmith drills I will agree with but modern drills and those gold coloured ones are case hardened so once they are blunt all you are doing is grinding into the softer metal so as soon as you sharpen them they just blunt of straight away. It all depends on what you are drilling into drilling into a bit of cheap flat bar or angle iron just about any thing will go through it but drilling out broken studs 10.9 or 12.2 I use good quality cobalt drills good cutting paste drill slowly and a bit of patience if I blunt them of get a new one and start again it just goes on the bill. The hardest bolts to drill out can be exhaust manifold or turbo bolts they tend to harden of close to the hotter side so as they are not evenly hardened they vere of no matter how you clamp or use a pillar drill etc they still vere of all you can do is take your time as with all drilling patience is the key
