I’m a West Brom fan AND an Atlanta United fan, absolute legend and role model for a fellow keeper (me), but sad he couldn’t finish out in Atlanta. Well done Ben. Left RCW at a young age and had an amazing career playing for great clubs. Love your reason for saying no to Newcastle….. had the career most people dream off but not without sacrifice and hard work. Baggies fan here. Honestly, so gutted Ben's not coming back but I cant blame him whatsoever. What a career. I remember having a Kick annual with a comic version of the Carling Cup final penalty save. Then watching him win the Carling Cup with Blues. THEN he was OUR player. Best keeper I've seen at the cub. Good Luck Fozzy. Good effort son

I think it is something a lot of people often forget when it comes down to transfers. Most people only look at the financials and the name of the club, but I can imagine there are so many more factors that go into deciding to do a transfer or not. I think the whole Frenkie de Jong transfersoap is somewhat similar, I believe he just proposed to his girlfriend in Barcelona, got a new house and plays at his dream club. So even though clubs like Chelsea and Manu offered good money and Barcelona seemingly tried to force him out, I can imagine he just wanted to stay, like you want to stay with your family,. although you could have earned a lot of money at Newcastle.

I think you have had a career we would all bite a dog's bollocks off to have had. You are rich, famous, well-loved, successful and still in the ascendancy in your media career. You have basically completed all the side quests. Your life is your own, and you've managed it impeccably. The decision is no one's but yours. Do what you feel is right.
