Put rivers on the giants and eli on the chargers, rivers has a ring or 2 and eli has none. If you think winning rings is all on the QB, your smoked. It takes an ENTIRE ORGANIZATION. and the GM/owner, Head coach and staff is MORE IMPORTANT to winning rings
LOL what Kaeding was our only offense in the AFCCG against the Pats, remember when LT sat on the sidelines and refused to take off his helmet and that's the game with Rivers played with both knees hurt.
The second the video starts, hearing the announcer just say the name, "kaeding" made me throw up a little and made me think wether or not i should take anti depressants
@@MrProfessor89 Steelers fan, so do you. Hadl, Fouts, Humphries, Rivers all had no defenses to close out games. Even today J Herbert has no defense & Ol to give him time. Spanos is Chargers problem...so you have never played competitive football. Me, Pop Warner to 2nd year Pac12. 8 years old to 20 yrs old. Hater.
@@strykrpinoy Marty went 14-2, got fired coz he wanted to bring in his relative as a Defensive Coordinator. He beat the Chargers following season as the Jets DC in the playoffs. Contininuety wins. Chargers will never win a SB- Spanos, firing a 14-2 coach is a forever no, no, 31 teams and A Manning knows Spanos's Chargers organization are poisoned.
2006-2009 Chargers remind me of my Titans from 2019-2022 had all the talent to go to the Superbowl but once playoff time came we only saw early round exit 😢
Steve Smith occupies a strange space in Giants lore. He was as reliable a target as Eli had when he was there - played mistake-free football essentially, helping the ‘07 team win a title as a key contributor. Then he got hurt in 2010, unfortunately for everyone, again not his fault obviously. But he goes to Philly of all places, leaving a gaping hole which he’s now filling for the most bitter rival in the division. So we weren’t exactly thrilled with that. But if not for his leaving, Victor Cruz might have had a tough time even getting in uniform, let alone playing. AND it’s not like his career in Philly wrecked havoc on the Giants. AND we got another SB win. He’s kinda like what Nomar Garciaparra ended up being to the Red Sox in this way, which is to say - “you’re always gonna be one of us.” Not precisely the same circumstances, but not far off either.
As a Giants fan, I do feel that Rivers was a better QB. But Eli came through when it counted the most, and Rivers did not. You draft for the Super Bowl, and Eli produced.
Rivers had some pretty bad luck in the playoffs, LT would always be hurt, his kicker couldn’t hit the side of a barn, and rivers best chance to win a Super Bowl he had to face the patriots in the AFC championship with a torn acl
back in the day when the Chargers had fans......Thank you Dean Spanos and of course, the accomplice, the NFL.......16 away games, 6th in local ratings, and outside the top 10 in attendance (SOFi) vs the Rams (2nd)
As much as I'd like to like Herbert, I just don't see it still. He can't read a defense to save his life, and he doesn't know how to put touch on the ball which is why he has nearly 50% more batted balls at the line than any other QB since Herbert came into the league. He throws 80% of his throws to Allen or Ekler. If Allen isn't on the field he wouldn't throw the ball past the line of scrimmage more than 5 times in a game, and most of those would still go to Ekler. Rivers never threw the ball more than 25% of the time to any single receiver, even Allen as great as Allen and Gates. Rivers it never mattered who was on the field with him, they were always in the game because of his ability to read the defense and always throw someone open, even rookies and backups. Allen is one of the greatest route runners I've ever seen and even he stated that 90% of the time with Rivers, Rivers would throw him open no matter the coverage. Meanwhile Herbert relies on Allen to get open or make ridiculous catches. Go watch the tap where people breakdown the entire play, Herbert even when he makes an amazing throw to Allen for a good play, there is almost always someone else wide open for an easy throw and catch for TD. He can't see the defense, he just knows, Allen or Ekler. I'd really like to enjoy Herbert, but he's just infuriating to watch :(. He has a far better O-Line than Rivers ever had and he's far more mobile, yet he is still holding this team back. Everyone complained about the OC, yet now he got the OC that everyone wanted and he's throw far less deep balls than he did before. It's not the OC and play calling, there was always plenty of deep ball options with the last OC, but Herbert never took them. As a life long charger fan, I'm trying my hardest to like Herbert, I just still do not see it and it's frustrating :(. Edit: I actually think if Chargers didn't get rid of Rivers for Herberts first season and let Herbert sit 1 season behind Rivers to learn from him, Herbert would be on the best QB in the game right now, but instead he's too reliant on Allen/Ekler. He's understand how to read a defense and even have better timing and maybe even some touch.
