DREWVIX1992 It was when all these shows like KND, Billy & Mandy, the last season of Dexter, etc. were still in active seasons when Cartoon Network rebranded itself as CN, so.......
Which Cancels out whole "purgatory" nonsense rumor. There still on earth. Or whatever they call it in the world of CN, Unless Fosters is in hell or something, Which would suggest that ED ED n EDDie and Fosters is in the same plain of Purgatory
"Mojo Jojo snuck into a movie theater without paying!" I loved these references as a kid. Seeing other characters and bits of shows adopt Billy and Mandy's cynical mundane writing humor was mind-blowing.
But as a kid you rally never understood it. Parents did and teens might have but kids didn't and thats what I loved. A fun crazy show not to crazy but just soft enough that anyone could watch it.
2:07 What makes this even funnier is what happens AFTER that scene. They poke fun at the premise of Dora's show. Grim tries to figure out WHO she is only for him to realize he's missing his favorite show. To which Billy says: *"Ooh-Ooh! Is it that show about the little girl that wanders around the jungle without any adult supervision, averting crises and conversing with wild animals with the aid of her foreign language speaking monkey?"*
Well considering Maxwell Atoms had a falling out with CN cuz they didn’t green light his Underfist show it’s highly unlikely. Billy & Mandy was a product of its time and belongs that way, if they made a reboot it would be completely ruined by shitty lame modern sensitivities and references
Nah, they would slap it on netflix and treat it the same. You gotta remember, kids today most likely had no outlet to watch this. For them to switch it up would be stupid asl.
The Codename Kids next Door one still gets me cause it's so outta nowhere and so out of character for #3 to take a job like that since she's such a kind fun loving girl.
I honestly wish we had an entire channel dedicated to cartoons like this. Since Cartoon Network doesn't play anything but over saturated mind numbing cartoons.
Also when the giant reaper disbands,a bunch of Cartoon Network characters show up but they're very hard to spot and in the end credits are a bunch of fake Cartoon Network crossovers, they are Ed,Edd n Mandy,Evil Camp Carne,Class of Numbuh 3000,My Gym Partner's a Mandark and Samurai Mac.I'm guessing The Grim Adventures of the KND was a Cartoon Network 15th anniversary special episode due to all of those cameos.
***** which puts another ugly dent into the Brony face. Not only accused for only loving to Clop to it. But also they originated from a moron with down syndrome
You know who else was? The Mayor of Townsville in the Powerpuff Girls. It's like the concept of brony was bound to happen eventually, and several animators knew it.
Static Announcement I think the reason why the Mayor and Grim are bronies is not a prediction, but more like the writers going: "Ahah look that guy is into girly stuff"
Ed Edd N' Eddy's Pesky Problem Fixers! Got a problem that's pesky? Will fix 'er for one lousy quarter! ... WHADDYA MEAN YOU'RE BROKE?! If you're looking for charity, call Kids Next Door! They're cheap!
TheKrysee He never has to work, and he still manages to enjoy life with two devil spawn as his wards. So who is the bigger loser? Grim, or the idiot who complains about "mainstream" all day. Indie, for the most part, SUCKS! Indie movies, indie games, indie music. Fuck Arcade Fire, give me some Def Leppard and Eiffel 65 and whatever else those kids listen to today.
the voice of Dora in pandoras box is Nika Futterman also voiced characters like Luna loud in the loud house and has voice acted in most of you childhood work include avatar the last air bender and korra, Adventure time, chalkzone, the cleveland show ,dexters laboratory ,El tigre, futurama, generator rex ,hey Arnold, kim possible etc ( too many shows to list just wiki it)
@@IrisThatOneGothMf Not so much for modern glues, but old-school glues had a collagen base. The collagen was extracted by boiling hooves and bone joints. Though the hooves could be from cows, sheep or goats horses are the only hooved farm animal not normally eaten in the USA. Back in the day, when a farm's horse grew too old or got injured and butchering it for meat was out of the question they'd sell it for glue or leather.
Sam Fisher Yoy may go on, but to put into perspective: Johnny Bravo had literally one joke: "here is a buff and ripped as he is he doesn't treat women with respect, so he gets none". All the others were more diverse, but were self-contained--there were no arcs to speak of even if many episodes were great. Adventure Time (and Steven Universe, but it's just beginning), on the other hand, have dozens of simultaneous characters arcs even though the episodes can be watched individually. This makes them a "series grows up with you kind of thing"; AT's theme is shaping up to be Finn learning what it means to become an adult in a world with (literally) no human-figures--let alone father or mother-figures--around. This in addition to being better written AND much more interesting/great visually (seriously, look up some Steven Universe backgrounds, the use of HD colouring and shading is insane). I'm not saying most of the series you mentioned are great (where's Courage though??), but I think nostalgia is keeping from understanding greatness is still out there happening in the world. I'm personally so happy to know kids are growing with awesome stuff.
frank hernandez if the joke was funny maybe I'm just sick not being aloud to compromise masculinity for anything I'm casual for it i have to be because of my terrible condition
I think this show was the one that made the most references out of all the other shows I've watched. And the crossover between this and 'Kids Next Door' had even more references, like even showing 'Ed, Edd N' Eddy' at the start.
Wells there's also Regular Show that makes references all the time from different media. They either use iconic shots from movies, have cameos, easter eggs, or even use lines from scenes of that movie
I loved how cartoons back then made it look like they shared the same universe, I remember the commercials would be the characters like Johnny Bravo, Samurai Jack, Powerpuff Girls, Ed, Edd n Eddy, etc. All outside of their shows, in the streets, or in a store, a laundry place, it was the coolest thing ever for me.
cutesy & lolz I was gonna go with "meth heads" more... If you know pot smokers who look like that, that's probably not the only thing they're smoking lol
Synjun Palomino Allot of pot heads look like that. Irritated eyes and dark circles. Not all have these symptoms. Some one i use to know did meth but had pristine teeth.
from their teens to late 20s. another i know that has pretty teeth started early teens and is still using at 43. with the one still useing it shows on her skin and mental health. All of meth heads dont brush their teeth. The one that stop doing is a health nut when it comes to her teeth.. Idk about the one still useing. Normally meth heads that brush their teeth, teeth looks blue(clean but unhealthy).. One guy my step dad knew would brush his teeth till he brushed the skin of his gums. The 43 year old scratches her skin till it come off. The mountain i live on is nick named meth mountain and meths nick name around here is sand mountain slimfast. lol Tho there are more pot heads than meth. Not as bad as it sounds.
In the crossover called, The Grim Adventures Of The KND, Billy says, “There’s only one group of kids who can help me now!” And Billy actually calls Ed, Edd and Eddy! Here’s the scene: Billy: DAD’S PANTS!!! What do I do?! Dad’s gonna sell my organs if he finds out I ripped his lucky pants! There’s only one group of kids who can help me now! *Cellphone rings* Ed: Hello! Eddy: Ed, Edd and Eddy’s pesky problem fixers! Got a problem that’s pesky? We’ll fix it for just one lousy quarter! *Awkward silence* Eddy: *WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU’RE BROKE?!* *Ed falls on Edd* Edd: Ohhhhhhh... Eddy: Hey, if you’re looking for charity, call Kids Next Door! They’re cheap! *Hangs up* Why wasn’t this on the list as #1?
+Sebastien Olibrice When Fred Flintstone jumps into the Principal's car while he's brushing his teeth in his underwear. Personally I don't find it too depressing.
I remember when I was little and I got so excited when Scooby-Doo appeared on the show, that cameo came out of nowhere but I was so happy and excited to see my favorite cartoon dog in a different show. Coincidentally right after that was the Fred Flintstone episode. I hadn't really seen The Flintstones only in commercials I mostly knew them from the Pebbles cereal box. But my mom explained who Fred was.
What about Steven universe, adventure time, we bare bears, ok ko, amazing world of gumball, regular show? Cartoon network still has good shows just handles them poorly
Who else remembers the Talking Heads reference where grim has a nightmare and says "This is not me beautiful house, this is not me beautiful wife" and wakes up to Billy repeating "Same as it ever was"?
This was truly when Cartoon Network creators were friendly and working together with one mind, giving permission for these cameos to appear. Where did these days go. Now these newer shows are shit
***** I dont want to grow up over my CHILDHOOD yes. Idc what anyone says that generation was the best for cartoons no matter how you're choosing to go about this. Dude they're continuing powerpuff girls, samurai jack, teen titans, etc. and they're all bs.. Ofc im defending my "Childhood" so freaking what
ıllıllı Ani Maker ıllıllı I'm saying that the reason you're not watching the new cartoons is because you have no nostalgia over them - no new memories over them. You never watched them because you grew up and had less time to keep up with the new cartoons. I can honestly tell you that elder people called your cartoon era garbage in comparison to what they watched, like Looney Tunes and Walt Disney shorts. It's all subjective. Just like there's some bad shows airing right now, there were bad shows that aired during your time. In the future, people will complain about the new shows while praise the shows from the now.
TheReelHero how could you forget the biggest cameo of all? in the crossover episode with KND, the mandy reaper is defeated, a bunch of Cartoon Network characters pop out of her head, such as from the powerpuff girls, camp lazlo, ed ed and eddy, Foster's home for imaginary friends, and many more!
I remember there was a Fight Club reference, i think grim or billy goes to his inner conscience and sees a penguin that just say “slide” just like in the movie
Hoss Delgado is a blatant Ashley Williams from Evil Dead reference, and Cthulhu has made a few appearances, the first of which was in "Prank Call of Cthulhu".
