The one thing David has taught me as a solider is that you have to win the battle within yourself before you can win on any battlefield . that battlefield can be life, financial issues or work issues. You have to dig within yourself - find your weakness’s ; expose them and be real with yourself to fix them . Once you’ve accomplished those things - you are unstoppable .

I am 29 years old. I have been lazy and obese since the day I was born, watching my life slip by in a constant state of self hate and depression. I have always wanted to be a soldier. Last week I finally got the courage to get of my ass and face myself in the mirror. I am going to join the French Foreign Legion next year. I have woken up at 3am every morning to go running, even though I didn't have a clue where to start. I have changed my diet drastically. I am now 15 pounds lighter than last week, and I feel better, more focused and more motivated then I ever have. Watching people like this man. Is what gave me the strength to take the first step. Failure is no longer an option. Thank you David for the inspiration.

When I opened the book up I was so excited I scared her. Nothing makes a mom more happy then knowing she did something great for her kid. Or that she knows her kid so well. Went on an army training ex field weekend recently and I had no cloves, no hat and only 2 layers in -5C and I was 50/50 on quitting but then i remember David Goggins “how bad are you really?” Kept me going he does have good advice!

i liked him as soon as i saw and heard him, He's a real hard ass and is not soft feeding as he speaks... life is hard, I didn't make it hard. It was hard when I got here...

This is a humble man. I enjoy listening to him. He's right about the tough things are what build you and keep you strong.

To call this man crazy, the idea that others are calling this man insane, shows me how extremely privileged we are as Americans. How can you look at how driven this man is, and how honest he is, and how truly passionate he is about what he's doing, and then insinuate that these qualities make his judgment any less credible than ours? Perhaps the message has never rung in your minds, that men and women in the U.S. Military have died not only fighting for us and for their fellow soldiers in their units, but also for the things which they believed in. They gave their lives and were willing to risk injury for the things which they believed were true. I understand that may of you in the audience are looking on from your various media devices and thinking about how you could never subject yourself to the kinds of workouts that Goggins did, but god damnit, I'm so grateful that he did because the honesty that followed with going through with some of these workouts myself changed how I approach my life entirely. Go ahead, Laugh- but being able to be honest with myself about what my plans and intentions are has completely abolished the depression and anxiety that i used to suffer from for the last 5 years of my life.

Big fan of BUD/s class 234 documentary, glad that petty officer Bischoff made it through (he got rolled back in second phase with 234 for not passing pool comp). On another note, does anyone know why he went through three hell weeks? I have a family friend that is a SEAL and was a BUD/S instructor as well. and he said that if you make it through hell week with an injury you'll recycle to the next class once they hit second phase.

The motivation is real I won’t stop

The toughest guys in the SEAL teams and special ops community are the guys who have deployed over and over and over again. There are guys you will never see that don’t have time to train for running and pull-ups they are training for a combat deployment. There are incredible athletes that can do what Dave does there are very few people that commit to deploying for combat over and over.

I graduated from navy boot camp 3 weeks ago. During my 10 weeks (the extra two weeks comes from R.O.M restriction of movement AKA quarantine.) I read David Goggins book during R.O.M and I must say it was motivational. During Bootcamp I wasn’t the fastest nor the strongest hell I had to have a “mentor”. Fuck I was NQS for literally all of boot camp till 6-3 so I passed my swim officially on 7-1 so I was pretty fucking last minute. And I’ll never forget my RDCs reactions they were like “damn Bey is gonna past, You know what Bey? I’ll shake your hand at graduation cause you earned it and etc.” .But being motivated is 90% of doing anything in the military hell even in civilian life and I was the most motivated and that motivation carried me through it all. So just stay motivated and push pass pain cause pain is temporary but defeat is forever. And no one wants to go to SEPs (term for separation which is just getting kick out the navy during bootcamp)

Some dudes out here calling goggins arrogant. He has all the achievements to be arrogant but he is a humble man. Just because he intimidates your demons and exposes your weaknesses and makes you mediocre doesn't mean he's being arrogant. He's being real on how he got there, what you should do, and what it takes. Ya'll should call yourself on your own shit.
