Because of Goggins I now wake up at 4:30 am everyday and do a 3 mile run followed by 30 minutes of jump rope and 15 minutes of cool down stretch’s. I’ve also finished 4.5 books in the past two months and completed stopped using Instagram I’ve never been so focused as well as happy with myself…he’s completely changed who I am just by giving us his wisdom
During the pandemic i became unemployed and went into depression over 2 years. I found Goggins and started reading and watch videos of him daily. Builded up a fighter in me i never knew was there. Last month i was rewarded with the employe of the year in my new work place. Im so thankful for this human right here.
I'm a bachelor 27 yo with a pronounced belly, never exercised much and have horrendous stamina. I'm trying to reach my first target for my run of 2km or 1.25 miles without stopping. It's been suffering so far, but every time I keep at it I definitely see improvements and it becomes much easier. Trust the process brahs!
Do keto and IF and run. Once the excess weights off reintroduce carbs but keep with the IF. You'll realise how far you can run once the excess is off. Keep going. No point doing the exercise without the diet. Diet first. Good luck
He sounds low on energy in this video. He needs to rest and start eating more. I believe he has a unhealthy relationship with food. Hopefully he recognizes the importance of nutrients and how to incorporate balanced and enjoyable eating. Until i studied nutrition myself. I realize this is a major obstacle for many people, and the cause of many eating disorders.
@@MrSilus2000 only a fool cares about status. I'm merely pointing out something about David in hopes he reads it, decides to study nutrition himself or consult a dietian or nutritionist to learn more. I enjoy seeing David achieve his goals and be inspiring. I never once measured my status or his. You reek of insecurity to even bring up status.
Goggins has no idea how many people he has inspired to be better. I will run 1000 miles this year ONLY because I have tuned into his philosophy. I'll be 61 in two weeks and haven't run since I was in HS. After reading Cant Hurt Me in late 2018 I started running. 6-8 miles is routine now, but starting out was rough. Now I'm 20 lbs lighter and in the best shape of my life thanks to David Goggins.
@@phillv 3-4 miles, but had some knee issues about a month or two in.Its been a slow and steady progression for sure. Had another injury on side of knee a couple years ago. When the injuries came I was unsure whether I would be able to continue and questioned if it was even smart to run, they healed up fine and now I have no problems at all. Pre-Goggins days I would have quit and just chalked it up to being too old to run. Not any more!
Hey! Nice, I just started training for a 5k, mid 40's. Same, used to be a sub 5 minute mile, fastest in the 4:25 to 4:30 ish range. Now? I'd be lucky to clock a 10 minute mile (probably 12 maybe 15 lol) I'm doing my best but damn it's hard, that first mile sucks. I've started slow, get the lungs used to it and that helps alot, pick up the pace after I feel like I'm used to it. Still it's hard. I also started listening to his book "Can't hurt me" on audible. Yea, this guy is something else!
i've worked out but not pushed myself in years and i'm 43 now. i hadn't run since i was in my 20s and did a bunch of dmage to my achilles and calves so it hurt. i recently started again and am loving it. i've just been doing 3 miles 3x a week to start and my legs are sore as hell from it but i'm really hoping i can build up to 6 - 8 miles like you. that's incredible, good for you :) i wanna be like you.
We had this saying at my fire department. As for running, I can tell you on race day your definitely rise to the occasion, but it's a function of the energy surrounding you, not some super human boost you get for no reason. Put in the work, and even a bad race day won't bother you. It's the journey that matters. Anyone who's run a marathon will tell you that it's nice to finish, but the experience of running a marathon is fleeting and over far too quickly. What you take from it is where you started to where you ended up, and THAT is the journey.
This man changed my entire life, my beliefs and my self awareness. During and after the pandemic i felt like a pile of trash - I now got myself together and dicsipline myself - Workout daily with the "nickels & dimes" next to going to the gym - he raised me out of depression. I am 58 and no one believes me as i might have an athletic appearance of a 25 year old. I cant express how grateful i am that my destiny sent this man into my life - Thank you David.
I’ve always had the mentality of once I say “I don’t really feel like doing that” I get up and do it. It really gives me a sense of achievement once it’s done.
Japanese don't have a lifestyle of workouts and they live longer than americans. Food is health not gym exercises. In fact, back then gyms didn't even exist and people lived longer. It's the food people eat that weakens their immune system in the long run
This was a great interview. I love that he says he focuses on his daily resume. Love that! This was great! - I, myself, am a runner and get my running done early in the morning so I can get it out of the way and check it off my list, and forget about it. I don't let anything get in the way of me and my morning runs.
@dejuren I don't hate my runs lol. I choose to, as I said, "get it out of the way" because it takes time and I can get distracted with other things on my To-Do list. I love my runs when I'm out there and feel even better when my runs have been completed.
I’ve been listening to David for a while now, I cannot fault his work ethic but I’ve never seen him feeling joyful, or happy or content! It’s ok to feel these things and still be disciplined and driven!
some ppl find joy and happiness in working hard. Like the ppl who like to solve puzzles all the time; there's a satisfaction and peace of grinding yourself. unless you are a mind reader, you don't know what he's feeling.
@@BlueInOrangeAgain I can see his face! He rarely smiles with joy, his laughter is always short, I just wish him the full gamet of emotions nothing more nothing less
David is my morning inspiration and has changed my attitude towards working out, his attitude is "zero the scale" I call it, whatever you put into working out was in the past, start from zero credit to yourself and now do this work out , and instead of boasting how much you "have done so far", keep saying "what I do now is the what it counts". Chris you have a beautiful tone of voice to listen to, like your contribution to the interview.
Man, I wanna meet Goggins one day! He is the real amongst unreal of people. He truly inspires me on another level of grit, confidence, willpower, brutal honesty, and courage. We love you Goggins!
I just ran 10km in the morning with no food but with just water at beginning. Starting 6km onwards my inner-self was gonna give up. F*** it, But I keep pushing. MENTAL is everything. Ur mind can do more than you ever could imagine. All thanks to David Goggins’s true inspiration. STAY HARD!!! Edit: the reason I’m trying this it to test what brain and its capabilities. I do not recommend anyone to try this as I believe it’s definitely not good for our body and mind in long-term.
Theres nothing unhealthy about running... not sure why you mention you didnt eat in the morning I dont eat till 6 pm 😂 our generation is so soft a little running or skipping breakfast aint gonna kill you
For these 30 days I've just been following David Goggins' routine and it is not easy as I'm pushing myself to the point of feeling nauseous everytime. I'm doing all of the runs for the same miles, cycling for the same miles, gym for the time & exercises (not an issue). I'm currently working on a RU-vid video which will be out soon on one of my other channels
To me, Goggins is an absolute stellar role model in terms of work ethic and determination. However, I never get the joyful/happy vibes from him - it is always more on the verge of someone who is always quite serious and somewhat tense. Whichever video I see him in, whether it be his own motivational speech or an interview, he always exudes these rough feelings. Another role model for me, to contrast by, is Kipchoge. When I watch his videos, you can just feel the massive amount of happiness and joy that shines from his personality. I feel that they are both absolute beasts, but come off almost as polar opposites in terms of their public outlook, so to say.
I remember I ran the Marine Corps Marathon once, and I will not do one again. To think David does this so frequently blows my mind. Needless to say, David Goggins is one of the most inspiring people I know. His recent conversation in the Joe Rogan Podcast was great too!
I’m not judging you, I’m legitimately curious but if Goggins is your inspiration do you think you should not run the marathon again? What would he say if you told him that?
@@IkeYbarra23 Considering David Goggins has a total dedicated lifestyle to becoming an ultra marathon runner for years, it is unlikely someone with a different schedule will be able to achieve it. So yes a person should run marathons according to his/her capability. It would be more like a David Goggins version of himself.
I sleep in till 5.45 am start work at 7.30 am; knock off work at 4.30pm. Train for an hourish, stretch for 30 minutes, watch sh*t like this, go to bed at 10 ish; rinse repeat. A certifiably lazy bum 😏
he is the kind of man with motivational talk that actually helps, not that others dont make sense. but, he is good at correlating his way of thinking and doing things which make him who he is now, with his past and so on, into something people can understand easily. like, the build beliefs and proof positive part are so true and i believe people out there have done it without realising it. once, we all know these and put them into work, unstoppable. great content!
Actually used to buy into a lot of this stuff but recently have found that inner confidence comes from abundance and actually being happy with what you lack. This means that you don’t have to rely on the external world for your inner state of mind.
@@denispetsch7769 A lot of it comes down to a process of letting go of getting something out of things you are pursuing. For instance if you can become comfortable with how you look then you don't need to necessarily go to the gym and get gains to feel good about yourself. This doesn't mean that you don't exercise but it comes from a position of being inspired to do as its something you enjoy for the process of it alone.
@@RowanJCC Fair enough, it's easy to misjudge a tone over a youtube comment. Just like you think I don't get it, you sound like you're trying to make it deeper than it is and confusing yourself in the process. While I believe in discipline and know what it means to have a hard time, you believe in just waving that away for some fake peace of mind. Just that horoscope yahoo word "abundance" alone gives it away. Mind you this is my stance and I have no choice but to generalize. I got your pathetic patronising to work with which leads me to believe you've got all the security to fall back. Basically you're not even close to what I know and you're so far up your ass that I'd have to provoke your stoner brain just to get some honesty out of you. But alas, I got no time for that. I've been in that lala land with the same kind of behaviour 6 years ago. Have a good one and remember to read your shit after the post trip glow leaves you.
I’m 5’7 250 pounds and I went on a 5k run after not exercising and smoking for about 3 years. And it took me 46 minutes which is a horrendous time. I couldn’t run the whole way, but I walked and then ran and repeated that process till I got to 5k and I’ve been running almost every day since. Big recommendation is stop listening to music just listen to goggins motivation while running.
Really a great video. Confidence is built it doesnt come from imitation, fantasy or self talk it needs to be worked on, experienced . Really love this man straight to his word, humble and very hardworking. I really needed this video all I was doing was clinging on my dreams but not working on it. Having self awarness of what you want is usless when it is not backed by work and this holds true for me. From bottom of my heart I thank you David Goggins Love from India
Love this guy, I lost 40lbs in 2018 an I thought about it the other day I was in the time frame that I heard his story for the first time now that I listen again I feel that fire being ignited agin
If one were to pick a guy to train for a long trip to a distant planet, David Goggins is the man for the job. Undeniably the first person on that list.
you mean in terms of over training and destroying your body? This guy has just smashed his hips and knees to the extent he probably wont be able to run at all at 50.
@@2011hwalker No mate, not in your terms. The opposite. If his body is still serviceable and or capable for the grueling trip, then he is that man. Also, he has by far the most disciplined and stronger mind to take the rigours and unexpectedness of the challenges that one will encounter in the long travels of space. He has trained his mind in a sense that he is the best either to train people or lead them.
@@2011hwalker His intense physical work outs will diminish your body. I think he should adjust to other focus of workout. But who am I to talk because I was never in his physical shape. But yes, running, and military style workout will break your body. It is designed for young men to be optimal for the time the military needs them.
Couldn't agree more! David Goggins’ commitment to running every morning is truly inspiring. I started my own morning routine recently, and it has transformed my mindset for the day. Sometimes, when I struggle to get out of bed, I remember that laughter can be a great motivator. I’ve noticed that sharing a joke can break the ice and make early workouts more enjoyable. I even joined the Sense of Humor Improvement Program by Habit10x, which taught me how humor can boost motivation. Keep pushing through those morning runs-your future self will thank you!
I'd argue his pendulum is swung way too far in the opposite direction. There is a balance to be had. If you're TOO intense like he is all the fucking time, that's all life becomes.
❤ One of if not the best thing about social media platforms is getting to listen to and meet incredible people like Goggins. It's great to know there are these kind of people out there AND they are willing to talk to the world about it. I really appreciate you, Chris!
I really appreciate the way you interview Goggings, respectfully and let him speak out, understanding his rotation. Like and abo just for this behaviour 🙏
I said it before, and might say it until I die, this is without question, the BADDEST MAN ON THE PLANET, period. God bless and protect this living legend.
Because of Googins I started to wake up at 5am, run, gym, meditation, cycle and stretch. I just worked 3 hours and I was fired. My body is good, my bank account is broken.
Because of David Goggins I get up at 3am. I run 7 miles before breakfast, jump rope 30 mins and bang out 50 pull ups and 50 chins before I leave for work. 9-5 construction, then I run home from the site - 3 miles! When I get home I do climbing wall for 30 mins before dinner. I finish my day with a 2 mile swim across the river by my house. That's my routine - 6 days a week! Goggins you are an inspiration!
@@MrSaiyan333 Cool, goggings is mental tho, i wouldnt suggest what hes doing to everyone :D Take care of ur health but enjoy life aswell, hes special in a way where its all he wants to do.
I was struggling with depression because my mum had a disease and no doctors could help her. She was only 50 years old when it started and in 5 years she degenerated so hard that she couldn't even talk or write no more. So communication wasn't possible no more. I only saw her suffering and crying 24/7. It was the worst time of my life because I couldn't do nothing to help her. I put every cent in alternative methods to maybe cure her disease but nothing worked. At 55 she passed away.... I hit rock bottom after that and all of my so-called friends left because I was down all the time and it wasn't fun nor more hanging out with me. That was when I saw the first video of David Goggings and I don't know why but I was hooked directly. His way viewing life was something totally new for me and it kind of gave me strength that there always is a way to rise again. So I started working out and run every day. It really helped to change the way I viewed pain and life in general. I am in the shape of my life now and every time an obstacle comes in my way I remember that I worked my ass off to get back up on my feet and did this all by myself. Thank you David for inspiring me and giving my life meaning again 🙏 English is not my native language so sorry for mistakes ✌️
I say this with tears in my eyes.... I didn't believe in self affirmations. Looking in the mirror.. yelling at yourself. I thought it was stupid because you are who you are, so... I tried it. It worked. It's not the main thing to do for self motivation, but for that moment, it gives me the energy to keep pushing. I have no one to do that for me. So I do it for myself. Try it. The key is... you have to believe in it. Believe in yourself, and your own words will have great power.
Thank you Paul. This was a very inspiring video. “Being a better version of yourself” Really stuck out to me on this. Really appreciate you and your team.
@The Motivated Mindset man said he ran 30 miles last year everyday at age 47 under 6 minutes a mile. That’s more then a 23 year old Olympic gold medalists
@The Motivated Mindset he’s been talking peds for ever also. I don’t take drugs. I speak for athletes like myself from highschool to the Olympics that none of us can do what he’s doing. you know why? Because we aren’t taking drugs
12 miles a day minimum, dude is just running the anxiety and doubt out of his body. I guarantee anyone who runs that much a day for an extended period of time will have very little internal doubts about who they are.
Last 30 days ive been jogging in average 5 to 8 miles. Last 3 days did 10 miles. Hearing his inspiration and my faith i just got to the point enough is enough and i wanna get my health back. I feel much better in my 40s then i was in my 20s.
around half thru video - Nietsche, "I know of no better life purpose than to perish attempting the great and impossible. The fact that something seems impossible shouldnt be a reason to not pursue it. Thats exactly what makes it worth pursuing. Where would the courage and greatness be if success was certain and there was no risk? The only true failure is shrinking away from lifes challenges." Love it.
"You don't become confident by shouting affirmations in the mirror, but by having a stack of undeniable proofs that you are who you say you are. Outwork your self doubt."
David got me into running, been running 5 times a week for 2 month now. 280km total run over the period, lost 6kg, built up muscles as well. Looking better in my 36 than in my 20
While I find his achievements impressive and inspiring, after reading his books and his constant reflection of his childhood life with his father…I often wonder why no one ever asks David about his kids. I can do many impressive things like he does, occasionally, he does them “everyday”. I wonder how he would attain these things with a wife, child, and committed home life to be better than his. I also understand he doesn’t want me to be goggins, he wants me to be a better version of me, so do I…and I’m committed to that, next time someone sees Dave ask him how the kids are.
Thank you for saying this. I thought I was the only one who was curious. Being abused at such a young age can turn children into future abusers. I’ve always wondered why he hasn’t brought that up. He’s very quiet about some parts of his life: being a father or a husband.
I was fat and a loser And decided to change I saw that I am weak Like a boy on the seat I grinded and lifted Until I started to grow I released all my weakness And I realized, I am alone So I shut myself in And I grinded much more Until I puked, and bleed And I ran even more But I stopped and realized That I have to let go So I am sitting here happy Knowing the fight is all gone And the power of love Is the new way to go
• Wake up around 5-5:30am • Go for a run (at least 12 miles) (takes up to 2 hours) • Eat something small • Go to the gym (45-90 minutes) • Stretch and meditate (2 hours) • Cycle (3-4 days a week for 45 mins to an hour and a half) • Get 7-8 hours of sleep
where is having a life, socializing, having kids, playing, trying new thing. This is such a competitive nature and a troubled mind behavior. He is using it to heal. He is missing out on a lot of life but then that is what makes us different.
Your daily reminder that David is a beast and in terms of pushing yourself, he is the man to look at; however, he also has a baby girl who he abandoned and wants nothing to do with. Man of motivation but not principle, it would seem.
Everyone has different beliefs, in as much as I acknowledge David's routine, for me I just run 3-4km, do 50 push ups and abs at an interval of 3 days. That keeps my body at a high performance state, doing my activities ie mastering other skills that I am working on. I believe the human body was not created to run but I also believe keeping fit while maintaining good rest in between keeps me at a great state to get it in other fields. Just maintaining my vitality. Others might say it's an excuse but this works pretty well for me!
What your doing is GOOD….. goggins mentality is about being GREAT! Ur not lazy…. You’ve just become complacent by not challenging yourself to push through what you are already capable of to unleash your inner beast!💪💪💪
@@essji2024 i have tried doing extra sometimes back, but i find out lagging in other part of skills that i am working on ie could feel lethargic a couple of times and lack of great concentration. To me exercise is an engine to create energy to accomplish my daily tasks but not to leave me wanting to rest more. i found my edge and this makes me great in performance of my daily tasks while maintaining fitness. Note that sometimes i hit the runners high and would do more kilometers, or even more pressups.
Humans can literally run further than any animal by far, tribes in africa hunt animals by just chasing them till they die... we absolutely were made to run. I lift and then run at least 3 miles everyday. Rest and recovery is bs if you workout everyday your body recovers faster and you have more energy. Your body can handle so much more than what your mind tells you you are capable of.
When I exercise, and when it gets hard, Goggins showed me to live in my "dark place" and to use that suffrage as fuel. This guy is a true savage, thank you Goggins!
I recognise his routine is very beneficial for health and mental well-being but many viewers will work full time. Would be helpful to find someone who integrates a similar routine with a more usual lifestyle
Ever since I discovered David Goggins 2 weeks ago, I sleep 30 minutes a day, I do 7 sauna sessions in the morning, work out for 8 hours, run a marathon in the afternoon and then one in the evening before bed, I run 4 businesses, raise 6 children, read 2 books a day, and use the rest of my time to learn how to code. And honestly, if I did any less than that with the time God gave me on this earth, I would feel like a lazy failure and I'd be ashamed of myself. Keep grinding people 💪
I’ll say this: I have no desire to always work non stop like he mentions BUT he has absolutely motivated me to be more disciplined, more focused on my work. And I keep coming back to him because I’m able to hear him and use what he’s saying for my life without trying to be simply be a carbon copy of who he is.
5:30 - Run before doing anything 12+ miles, 1.5-2 hr 0.75-1.5 hr of Gym 3-4 times a week on the stationary bike 2 hour block of stretching and mediation, nighttime
It's bizarre to me how people will take the time to comment and critique a man's life/routine as if they know better than the man who has a resume that far exceeds their own. As if their methods are superior for his goals he has accomplished and the inner peace he says he has achieved through the things he has done. As if their perspective on life from spoken from their couch is optimal for the background he comes from. The internet is truly hilarious and ridiculous simultaneously. I guarantee 99% of these types of comments are by people who have zero athletic, military, or professional accomplishments. They simply don't understand the mind of someone looking for the most out of life nor the perspective of someone who understands the pure hell that life brings -- it is a never ending battle for many. If you have been fortunate enough to bypass many of the brutalities of life, I tip my hat to the luck you have had so far, and hope you never have to understand those hells and the mind of someone like Goggins or similar people. If you listen to this full episode, you will hear Goggins advise people to not do what he does, or what anyone else says to do. Instead he encourages the idea of each person being on their own journey and personal mission. For him, his plan and approach to life was clearly a good one for him, as it accomplished what he set out to do (both in terms of resume and finding peace) and surpassed his own expectations of his potential. Any critique from the peanut gallery is comedic non-sense -- but of course they will continue regardless.
Exactly. You cannot have true power and freedom without discipline. No exceptions. That’s the core of David’s message. Though I would add that true freedom also means the ability to not be disciplined at times.
a great video with insights from David Goggins about his daily routine and the power of running every morning. His discipline and training approach are always inspiring for those looking to push their limits. Definitely worth checking out for some motivation! 💪
EDIT: thanks for all the nice comments about my RU-vid channel - really didn't expect anyone to recognise me here haha For anyone reading this, I hope 2023 is the most painful year of your life. Sounds depressing, right? But you KNOW by now that pain is the only way to massive progress. So whether it's more job interviews, sales calls, running miles or kilograms lifted... let's make this the most painful year of our life - Goggins style! "I don't stop when I'm tired, I stop when I'm done." - David Goggins
This is an interesting perspective and I think for most readers, accurate. We're too soft. We DO need more pain, obviously burnout is a thing, but overall? Yes. Based comment. Chase pain = make progress
A conscious mind can make affirmations incredibly believable and can also delude you into a lack of confidence despite multiple wins under the belt. Don't knock one method down and say another is better. Both work.
