Consider this: Nebraska got beat by a backup quarterback (Sitkowski) who left Rutgers because he got beat out by Verdal, who left Nebraska because he got beat out by Adrian Martinez.
I’ll say it once and I’ll say it again. Look at the in-state recruiting that he’s lost. In five years there will be at least three in-state guys go to the pros that Frost didn’t even take the time to heavily recruit
Just looking at how he's looked since coming to Nebraska, they've broken this man. I kinda feel for Scott Frost because while he certainly hasn't done a good job, I view him as a symptom of a much bigger problem at Nebraska Football. The people at the top simply have no clue what they are doing and it doesn't look to be getting any better. It's just insane how one of the greatest and most historic college football programs ever has managed to fall off this badly.
Don't go feeling too sorry for him. He's filthy rich thanks to a society that puts sports above most anything else. He's doing what he loves and would do it for less that half of what he is getting paid. Wish I could say that about my job.
@@robjohnson8861 first, who pissed in your cornflakes? Second. Funny how you call it the big easy, but the big 8 finished a year with the top 1, 2 and 3 teams in AP final poll.
Martinez was their only hope but even with that shitty play calling, defense, special teams, and shitty running backs, he could only keep the games somewhat close
As a Duck fan, I always thought it was funny when Frost said it was hard to recruit at Oregon when he's never had a class at Nebraska even close to Oregon's in rankings.
Yeah he's a jackass however recruiting wasn't as good back then in those early years when he was the wr coach but oregon was still an amazing program and it clearly got better over time with recruiting
@@scizorbullet8185 yeah, Oregon build a reputation with consistent performance over time, but they started with motivated players wanting to prove themselves, matched with coaches that knew how to tap into that momentum. Chip Kelly's first team that played in the National Championship wasn't exactly full of five star recruits...
I honestly find it strange that he's never really smiled while being here at Nebraska like he did at UCF. I mean obviously the struggles he's had with coaching the players and the fact that he's 12-21 would drag anyone down, but he's seemed that way since his debut for Nebraska, he's seemed cold and emotionless on the sidelines since day 1.
I would love to be somewhere when he walked in and just go off "Its Scott Frost, God2, the man that is gonna resurrect Neb football, just you wait, things are gonna happen, Mike Riley screwed us, 13-0. woohoo."
You're right. He has looked miserable the entire time. I've heard it's because NU promised when they hired him to fundraise the amount necessary to increase the recruiting budget, build new facilities, and hire more off-field analysts. Here we are, 4 years later, and they haven't really gotten those projects off the ground yet. There's been some friction over that behind the scenes apparently.
Well when you impregnate a student.....fly to vegas and do blow after the games on Saturdays. Has boat parties at his house.. divorce is in the works. Wife hates him. He is a example of a loser
That backup QB that played for Illinois on Saturday was once the starter for Rutgers and he threw 4 TDs and 18 INTs that season, and he just outplayed Adrian Martinez. Yikes.
It’s just tragic to me to see Nebraska this far down and for this long! I’m an Oklahoma Sooners fan and I can’t imagine if my Sooners were down for this long. I remember the Nebraska of old. A powerhouse of college football. Winning national championships and Heisman trophies! I watched the game with Illinois fully expecting Nebraska to win, but honestly that quarterback was terrible! He was missing wide open guys in the end zone! He honestly did more to lose that game than Illinois did to win it. You’re quarterback cannot be that inaccurate at this level. He was just bad.
Oklahoma had it's down years while searching for a coach. Remember Howard Schnellenberger and John Blake? They were a combined 10-21. Fortunately, they were able to land a great one in Stoops and follow that up with Lincoln Riley. Can Nebraska do it? Yet to be seen but it seems to me that it's much harder these days given the choices blue chips have. Dudes are gonna go where they can play, be seen by millions, build a 'brand', and have a shot at the NFL.
@@okchawk2k *"Remember Howard Schnellenberger and John Blake? They were a combined 10-21."* WTF. * Schnellenberger took over a mess and only coached 1 yr * Stoops. Honestly I don't know why he went to Nebraska. They treated him like shit when he was a QB there and they treat their coaches like shit if they don't have a ten win season. Plus.... Who the hell would ever want to play in Nebraska? Seriously.... Gonna have a hard time recruiting people from Texas, FL, etc to go play in Omaha. Place sucks, no offense.
You seriously are a village idiot they’re playing in Lincoln not Omaha. You don’t have to be from Texas or Florida to be a stand out athlete There literally in every state of the country the guy just got guaranteed too much money and he doesn’t care because you have to pay them $20 million to kick him off the team that’s basically yet
Ancient history. Yesterday, Nebraska played better then they have since, well, Scott Frost was QB. BIG BIG HUGHMONGOUS game coming up against Michigan.
You mean when your division isn't ISU, Kansas, Kansas State, and Colorado your not as successful. Nebraska was good in the Big 12 because they were in probably the easiest division, the Big 12 North, in the Country. Since 2000 they would win the North just to get thrashed by Oklahoma Or Texas.

But since you have, I hope you have thick Skin and can argue your points. I feel kinda like Luke Skywalker saying " Everything you just said is wrong " Most of all who out in Football Land COULD come right into Lincoln and perform the way it seems more and more fans think we should be playing. What is most comical is not a single average fan has a clue just how far we had fallen and how much work had to be done just to put a team on the field that all it's players were recruited by the same Staff. That's just the least of problems Frost faced when he got home. OK BOTTOM LINE is like this, This is the first real test of Frost and what he can do as head coach. I'm going to wait a couple of seasons now that he seems to have all his poop in one group and if at the end of the 2023-24 season were still fighting the same old CRAP that has been our biggest problem from day one. So while your doing your clunk bait thing I will be watching for incremental day by day growth. I still believe this team we have right now is going to do something truly amazing and put the whole country ON NOTICE....NEBRASKA IS BACK !
@@TCBubba I’m open to your opinion, but the opinion of the AD at the time was he felt the team headed towards mediocrity and only the best could coach at Nebraska, so he brought in Callahan.
A good coach doesn’t suddenly suck. Frost won a UCF. He obviously has some booster interference which explains why he keeps playing that QB. He probably doesn’t have a choice. ( see Texas, Michigan.. poster boys A and B)They will fire him and he will land somewhere else and probably do well again.
As a Nebraska student, this guy is a total bust and the main problem is just the CULTURE. So lazy and unmotivated aaaaand so we went ahead and extended the guy 🤮. I wouldn’t work hard either if you extended me through 2024 to win 4 games a year.
Leaving the Big 12 might have been good money wise but it was bad for football, nobody in the Big 10 cares about about Nebraska Football, there's no history
Frost is constantly crying and making excuses. He cried about Colorado trying to intentionally injure his QB a few years ago, too many media timeouts when they played Minnesota, and even Iowa clapping their hands on the sideline causing bad snaps. Great coaches don't cry and make excuses like Frost does. There's a reason successful QBs usually don't make good coaches; his success at UCF was a fluke.
This is some funny shit. I come from the small ass town of Wood River where this guy went to school. He’s so fucking overrated I hate seeing his mural in the halls; I hate that when I bring up my town, people say “That’s where Scott frost is from”. I don’t give a shit about football, but I do know that the team Scott frost is in, sucks just like wood rivers football team. Coincidence I think not.
College football as a whole is so bad nowadays and even easier to not watch given my Huskers are so garbage. At this point I don’t think they’ll ever be back. Not sure even Saban could bring them back
Nebraska requires three things to start winning again. 1- better talent 2-more confidence 3-better coaching How do you rate a coach. Bear Bryant said this: "Want to know how your coach is doing, look at the scoreboard." A good coach at school A might not be a good coach at school B. The powers that be at Nebraska need to analyze what they can do today and what they need to get better tomorrow, and to stop trying to recreate the past glory. Today is the day, not then. Start with basics and build like was done at Kansas State at Boise State. Some coaches can do with less and win, others have to have a sideline full of talent.
Ur wrong. Mike Riley was the one who thought Burrow wasn’t good. Frost was still at ucf when burrow tried to come to nebraska. A lot of the shit u said is wrong and I can tell all your videos are fraudulent
Another thing that needs to be noted is the recruiting and not just the Joe Burrow mistake. The recruiting IN HIS OWN STATE has been horrible. Missed out on almost every top recruit from class of 2021. Koby Bretz was the only the big true grab and everything else was small school names. Took a class C1 quarterback who didn’t even win the state title over a 3 Star, Nebraska Gatorade Player of the Year winner, Class A state champion and arguably the greates QB to come out of Nebraska high school since Easton Stick. All because he’s a lefty. Also missed out on a 4 star defensive back and DT for a 6’7” rusher who is slow as molasses against strong competition. Plus 2020’s top QB who is now the #1 JUCO QB in the country. Frost continues to think that kids in Nebraska “dream of playing at memorial” but they don’t. At least the true great players don’t on high performing teams. I haven’t even begun to talk about this years class. Look up Bellevue West, Millard South, Westside and Elkhorn South’s top recruits this year. Not one is going to Nebraska. Frost better pray he gets Zane Flores
Scott Frost didn't really want him but hell he can't recruit anyone to come out there in cow polk country? He's proved that he can coach as long as he has the players. There's a big difference between the state of Florida and Nebraska when it comes to football today. Only way Nebraska gets back on top as if they start paying some big money to top recruits because other than that they're finished and it's not Scott Frost's fault even though he deserves to be let go if he has a poor season. The next coach will have a poor season after Scott Frost leaves because the same issues will exist.
Nebraska is no Michigan. Top tier athletes are no longer going to go to Nebraska. True Frost is no Mike Riley but it's the lack of talent that insures that the Huskers just cannot compete in the Big Ten.
Scott Frost wishes he was back in Orlando, where expectations are much more manageable, a recruiting hotbed is right in your back yard, where there is more to do in the surrounding area and the football team is an afterthought to most people.
And I got to call it like I see it you dont know wtf you are talking about it's easy to sit on the sidelines and be the arm chair quarterback at some point the kids playing the game have got to take some of the blame even when they were playing some what of a good game Martinez would pee himself and throw a turd or the kicker would make the worst kick at the worst time ! Unless you're much smarter than the folks at Nebraska who decide who's getting a check and who's not they have made the choice to keep coach frost on the payroll maybe they see something in this coach that you don't but when they have a winning record this year you mite like them again
Nebraska is a terrible and boring state with a pathetic university that will be stuck in the 90s forever and the sad fans with nothing else to do but unconditionally root for a disappointing team and university will never have their unrealistic expectations met. The only winners in the recent past have been the herd of transfers who found a better life for themselves and their future families.
This won't happen, but I, as a Nebraska fan, would lose every single game the rest of the year and next year, just for us to beat OSU and Frost to be canned
One thing about there is always some critics that think they have it all figured out, never coached never played just played madden and read stats on line. If you are not a fan feel free to route for another team, butt also feel free to shut the fuck up. Win loose or draw ur a fan for your team or not.
True Husker Fans still know that Frost can do the job. This type of BS is what I hate about fair-weather fans of all sports and all teams. Give him some time. He will get there.
Fair weather? In the 4th season of this? Lol do they have to go 0-12 three seasons straight before they can bitch? Gtfo with that fair weather BS. Demand more my guy. Yeesh.
Well, I agree and he is separated from his wife, so self medicating is far too easy. He has been rumored to be making very poor personal decisions. I hope he gets right, aside from coaching and just get himself in a good place mentally if there are issues personally.
@@mattdierks3841 Rumors about his wife living in Florida and taking the kids are completely false. I can personally attest to it. If they were separated, it is miraculously unbeknownst to even their closest friends. She’s literally been down on the sidelines of the last two games with him and with their kids
As a lifetime Husker fan (which isn't long cause I'm only 21 lol), I will say that this team shows zero signs of bouncing back. Scott has the worst play calling ability, and has made some of the worst decisions I've seen (like going for a QB Draw on every 3rd and Long last season). Personally, I think we won't have a chance of being good until Martinez is out of Nebraska. I don't know why, but Frost doesn't see how actually Adrian is as a QB. Dude has been terrible since his second season at NU. Hopefully everything changes once Martinez is gone, otherwise I don't know what Nebraska can do. If we fire Frost, then who do we hire after him? No coach is gonna want the job. If we are willing to fire our Golden Boy Head Coach after 4 seasons, then obviously we wouldn't be afraid to do that against any other coach that comes through... not exactly inviting. Unfortunately, it could honestly be another decade or two before Nebraska even comes close to smelling a National Championship. Great video as always, man!
LOL. For perspective Consensus (both polls) NCs Minn 4 Neb 3. LOL. Minn is at yr 60 and counting since their last. Neb has 35 more yrs to get to 60 yrs and still won't be close to a ND type run which we know how always pans out.
@@brianh4669 I don't see any flaws in what I stated lol. Just cause I wasn't alive during peak NU times doesn't mean I don't know more about football than you think, my guy.
@@justinalley3399 Agreed. He seems to be decent at middle/upper squad management (aka his Oregon position) but appears to have been thrust into a Power Conference HC job way too soon. Plus his apparent moral failings and NCAA investigations may provide UNL with the ammo needed to fire him without paying the hefty contract buyout fees.
That play was huge. How could you play more than 1 game in your life and not know that the 10 yd line is the boundary to field a punt. Like the United Negro College Fund says "the mind is a terrible thing to waste" Geesus. He'd be a poster child for stupidity.

Scott Frost had over three years to prep for the game; the same game that Bielema had merely weeks for. Hands-down, Frost isn't capable of doing any better. Nebraska is not a dried-up, boneyard for football. It can be fixed, and it comes down to the administration making better decisions. Out of the Group of the 'Former' 5: Miami, Texas, Michigan, Nebraska, and Tennessee, someone eventually has to break out of this rut.
One would think Texas would’ve already broken through by now...the donor-worship and donor rivalry culture in Austin corrupts the program and ruins the resumes of highly sought after coaches time after time. Maybe Sark will turn out to be different...but I sure wouldn’t bet on it.
Bench Martinez, fire Frost, change A.D., pour money into the facilities, none of that is goingvto help Nebraska. Problems are much deeper than all that
Scott Frost isn't a bad coach - Scott Frost wasn't ready to take on a giant fixer upper like Nebraska. He should have been at UCF for at least another 3-5 years then done some work at a power of 5 with some more resources like TCU or Miami then MAYBE tried his luck at Nebraska. Nebraska is a "I'm 10 years off retirement job" where you've learnt a plethora of different skills that could help such a struggling program and have the pedigree to prove you can but if it doesn't work out you're ok with going to Kent State with your head in shame because you've only got a decade left in you. Nebraska was Scott's 2nd head coaching job ever. I get why he took it because it's his alma mater but he wasn't ready and I really wish he had stayed at UCF for a bit longer.
Wouldn't you love to confront the decision makers in say a large auditorium? Scott did a great job in 2017 with mostly Oleary's recruits. Coaches need to be evaluated at year 5 unless they come to loaded team and maintain. Coker came to a loaded team and every year got worse when Davis' recruits left. Davis would have owned the early 2000s.
Agree with a lot of your assessment. I though we could’ve given Riley at least one more season. We can’t be going with another coach again and again. It’s hard enough to attract someone high caliber anyway. After Scott was hired there was so much hype. Astronomical expectations. I said it’d take four or five years to begin to get things going. Was labeled a Frost hater. He’s got talent with a high ceiling perhaps but he certainly wasn’t ready. He underestimated some aspects of the Big 10. He’d have to adjust and adapt and evolve his scheme. Maybe he needs to shake up his coaching staff a little. Every great coach lacked experiences. What he could do is walk into the AD’s office asking to reconstruct his contract. Propose shortening it to three years. Decrease the amount keeping it in the budget. Then go out and hire the best personnel he can get. Positions that would attract and increase the interest of top athletes. And competent position coaches like that might make commitments that wouldn’t be as difficult as drawing a replacement. He likely has relationships with coaches and others with experience he could lean on. Our issues are much deeper than Scott Frost. It would take someone like a Chris Petersen to turn things around. We might not be the powerhouse that we once were. There is no reason we can be competitive consistently and highly competitive over time. I don’t know if there’s any truth to him experiencing personal hardship. Those sorts of things can’t be underestimated. But, for now I’ll assume not. What’s more likely is that he’s overwhelmed with the task which more experience would’ve help him with. He’s learning but will it be quick enough. Fans are fatigued with the lack of progress that’s been going on for so long. It’s an emotional investment. It would’ve helped to lessen the expectations saying that it could be ugly for some time but that he was committed instead of fanning the flames of hype. Then move towards exceeding expectations over time. We just love our Huskers, want the best for our team!
Everything is coming together Scott frost has the program going to the right direction with the defense. Scotts bring Osbornes play book to I’m seeing our old I formations, triple option back. With Steve Peterson changing something that’s not broke nearly killed the program off by switching to the west coast offense and bring a outsider NFL coach to run things with no clue of our history, taken all the national championships and conference championships away and hid them in a closet, new coach new era failed hard. But the greatest fans in college football and the boosters had the last word and we’re not going to let that happen. Scott brought back The walk on program with in state recruiting and traditions are back. Sure it’s super exciting for husker fans but boring for the non husker fans channel surfing watching the huskers dominate the clock and rush for 600 yards a game. The sower planted the seeds. Scotts here to stay along the new ad. Looking forward to seeing this program get back to its roots.
Look at how many games Frost has lost by a touchdown or less. Really losing those games is the difference from us being on Wisconsin level and where we currently are.
@@TheCyberHawk1 8 wins in one season is not Wisconsin level, and Nebraska does not have the same guys Wisconsin does. They're two entirely different programs at the moment and winning thoss close games in 2018 would not put Nebraska at the same level.
@@HeavyMetalMonkey 2018 was just an example we have those games every year under Frost. Our recruiting classes are ranked similar and Wisconsin just wins their tough Big-10 games and loses to OSU and PSU
@@HeavyMetalMonkey Hey just checking in. Every game Nebraska has lost so far has been by 8 points or less. This includes ranked Oklahoma, Michigan State, and Michigan.
Frost's record isn't exactly fair. Due to the pandemic his team has played 18 straight Big 10 teams. They haven't had the chance to play those easier non-conference games. Just something to keep in mind, if we're being objective.
They won't fire him - too expensive ($20M would have to come from boosters) - they are all working to "shame" him into quitting ... that and the allegations of misconduct (which are likely VERY slim), if proven true they can let him go for cause. Sad, I am not a Nebraska fan (at all), but really don't like to see these programs destroyed right in front of your eyes. NOTE to the AD - get a BETTER contracts person, I mean Scott has a financially great contract!!
To rub even more salt in the wound, just a week later Illinois loses at home to the mighty UTSA Roadrunners...I get the feeling that Frost thought Nebraska would be a nice stepping stone job after a couple of years of bringing Nebraska back. Instead he is trying to figure out how to get out of there into some other head coaching gig at a desirable school.
The biggest thing you hit on was his demeanor on the sideline. Scott doesn't create energy. He is lifeless on the field. He needs to be hyped up, like PJ Fleck or something.
