The Tragic Life Story Of Amy Winehouse
With a voice beyond her years, echoing the musical eras of the past, Amy Winehouse was a deep soulful siren in a sea of light frothy popstars. With a dark sultry voice that seemed to come from the very depths of her being, she eclipsed what had become the norm for female vocals and exploded onto the music scene less like a breath of fresh air and more like a firework.

There are a lot of things about her life that remind me a lot of the life of Janis Joplin and they died at the same age. Both of them were singing in a way that white girls at the time were not singing. They were both addicts they both drank too much and used too much heroin but both deep inside just wanted to be loved and you know they were admired by millions, they never felt like anyone truly loved them for them.

she also had severe bulimia all her life which played a huge part in her death, her body was so fragile it couldn't take all the drugs and shut down. I never said Adele wasn’t talented, don’t put words in my mouth. Adele would have been successful anyway but Amy deserves credit (which Adele has given her) in terms of HOW BIG Adele has obviously gone. Back to Black came out in 2006, Adele had two records out in the 5 years following whereas Amy had none. The anticipation for Amy inevitably leaned towards Adele because Amy hadn’t put an album out. So Amy had already brought hype to UK artists while she was alive.

Amy was a friend of mine. Not a close friend mind you, but we talked quite a bit. I had approached her to do an interview and she had literally no interest, however she was more than willing to just talk as a person. She was sweet, she was funny, but she also was lonely. In my time with her she seemed to be a bit like a little kid alone at home waiting for their parent to come home; she’d get upset and concerned if I went too long without replying, assuming I abandoned her. When I saw the things the press was saying about this woman I knew I was angry and heart broken. It was so one dimensional, so condescending, and so shitty as all of the papers just wanted to cover the same things. She deserved understanding and kindness as that’s what she brought to the table.

Oh god, I saw the thumbnail and title and I immediately became teary eyed. my poor Amy:-(. Everyone blames Blake for her demise and he was no doubt an enabler and contributed to her rampant drug abuse, however HER father Mitch was the catalyst to her destruction. Amy was his cash cow, she wrote Rehab while in the throughs of alcoholism and he missed a pivotal moment in her life to intervene and get her some help. The way the media treated her was disgusting, she was a bulimic in addition to being an heavy addict. Her bulimia caused such long term damage to her heart and its speculated that THATs what killed her
@nicotopcat1188
@nicotopcat1188 4 года назад
Amy was a genuinely talented voice in an ocean of so-so partial talents, and flash in the pan, glory-seeking ghosts. There won't soon be another comparable to her, when such unique performers as she was, come along infrequently at best. She was a once in a lifetime gem of an artist with a nearly unheard-of ability to conjure and evoke the spirits of long-dead sultry R & B singers, or as extracted from the annals of historic female Jazz vocalists, of which Billie Holiday emerges to memory...

This low key made me sad. Amy was a beautiful little thing. I kind of understand where shes coming from with being in a toxic relationship such as myself it's very hard to get out of it..... I'm currently taking a break from my partner cuz of their mentally abusive and emotionally abusive ways but I still love him. You can never explain love. Love is something you feel, not something you know. She seemed like a depressed soul who used alcohol and drugs as an escape and when she met blake, he "made it all better" for her. Believe me, it is very hard to break free from an abuser.. I'm still trying to. RIP amy. You would of became something so big.... such wasted beauty.. utterly sad.

Her reaction when Tonny anounced she was the winner of the Grammy is priceless. I remember looking at it on TV and made feel even better that she won, she really deserved it and Grammys since the very early 90s late 80s rarely go to who really deserves them. That expression in disbelief simply showed how little she thought of herself, she was her own enemy, she ended up loosing the fight with herself and there was nothing we could do. Now I see that video as more than just satisfaction she was getting it, I see it like a sign that she was not gonna win that war but for a tiny moment when she went and hugged the player from the band she was happy, she was excited and probably she saw a bit of light and that tiny minute is enough to say that the only thing that helped her to go on was music. She was real, she was defective? Yes, big time as we all are. However her sorroundings molded her into a non sustainable human and go others our sorroundings have stopped that defect to make us breakdown. That's a life that the World fails to protect just like so many however what killed her was that in the end she cheated on herself that she knew when to stop or when was enough. RIP Amy, we rest everytime we remember you through your music after we get out of work, we drive or we have a cup of tea in the afternoon. I hope that's enough for you to rest forever because in life you couldn't rest. 🤍🖤 It's never an overstatement to say that we lost a real artist, somebody not meant to completely unravel her talent but we all know how much talent she had.
