Celebrities always try to appear happy even if they're not. I think they feel trapped and can't speak out because nobody understands. We saw it with Demi Lovato and her overdose. Society made jokes and ridiculed it. She was practically dead when they found her.
Looks like Dionne is someone who really cared about her..... singing the whole song for her. On other videos, they just let Amy sing when she's not ready....just stand there watching her falling apart. RIP
Why didn't her band members take her off the stage? The one guy in several of these concert videos where she clearly so drugged up or drunk etc he just smiles..and whispers back in her ear? Wtf
she was clean of drugs for years before she passed, she was sober in this and for two weeks before it and died from drinking too much three nights later
Over decades, my love for Amy Winehouse has only deepened. Regardless of the challenges she faced, her enduring personality, whether influenced by drugs or not, remains close to my heart. The authenticity she brought to life and the resilience displayed in adversity have solidified the lasting bond I feel for Amy. Amy Winehouse holds a cherished place in my heart.
You know at the end of day when everything is all said and done she still is awesome no one can take that from her she is and will always be a soul singer thank u Amy
+Julia Carmelo Well I just didn't see she was another Billy Holiday When she was Drugged up She had the Talent before she screwed her Life up!!!And don't you Dare come at me any of you about knowing What Addiction is about because I truely knowmore more people
Well i was a herion addict for 15 years and stopped and havent touch it and have had my band (BLUE JEWELS) for 15 years so i also know what addiction is the point is that billie Holliday and amy winehouse were one of a kind and we will never have the pleasure to hear them sing again herion or not its their true raw talnet that is the real story
Julia Carmelo congratulations on your sobriety 😊😊 Wishing you all the best on your endeavours (i know that addiction/sobriety is a life long battle and it takes much strength and faith to stay sober. Obviously people who've never experienced addiction wouldn't truly know the battles that we face )
Julia Carmelo thank you Julia, I too am an addict who hasn't picked up since 1989. I went through rehab 3x. Once and old timer asked me, "How long you gonna keep going out and coming back?" I answered, "As long as I have to, I guess." I thank God for the fellowship of others who stood by me no matter what. And thank you.
Her last performance was smiling having a good time with the audience she loved. Rest in Peace you poor darling. The sharks of the business got the best of you. You deserved so much more.
Bad decisions, fucked up management no real friends, alot of people think 27 is an adult i remember being 27 , at that age you still can use a little help from your family. No judgments just real talk . i know about addictions 1st hand and at 27 i cleaned up i have 24 yrs and counting . she died of alcohol poisoning she was really doing well unfortunately she died but it still doesnt take away from her talent. Cant deny she was a great song writer great singer, and a passionate woman
I have been thru and still struggle with addiction myself, and I could not agree more with what you said about our beautiful Amy. Love you always Amy 💗💗💜💜
Eleanor Sanchez I agree totally ! there is so much pressure & you why she was young beautiful & with an awesome voice, yet she was lonely & unhappy goes to show that having everything doesn't make you happy all the tome life is so hard & confusing. what a sad loss
I find the saddest thing about Amy is she empathised with the lost and the damaged and she lost everything because she gave everything to people who didn't really care for anything. But she'll still be shining in 50-100 years.
The saddest thing, is that she killed herself, with drugs and alcohol. Tremendous talent. A great shame. Everyone clamours to blame someone else, for the poor decisions an individual makes. Usually when they are talented and well known.
@@lissie3669 I don't know where you got your information , but I'm afraid that's not the case. It's an assumption made by people who don't understand drug addiction or drug addicts. Anyone who is addicted to heroin will give you lots of reasons why they became addicted, and remain choosing to stay addicted. Regardless of their sometimes very privileged childhood. Regardless of the heartbreak and carnage they cause for everyone whom cares about them, time and again. Blaming other people is classified. Claiming unhappiness is classic.
Her body here looks like she is recovering and trying hard to be sober. She gained weight, she looks more healthy. Its sad by the next day she was gone... She really was trying her best... She needed love and care from the persons she held on to... We love you AMY... You are so loved...
@@dinlo5219 She is clearly wasted on stage. Plus uppers only make you skinny when you start if you keep using they have the opposite affect. And since she sadly died from dug use I would suspect her recovery was overstated. Having said that she was clearly more talented than most artists and may she rest in peace.
Me... and all these comments about her singing for her no Amy wanted her God Daughter to shine, she knew her light was dimming but wanted her god child's voice to shine thats why she didn't sing i belive, pointed at her at the end like any proud GoD momma would, she was passing on the torch so to say (sing on baby bird)
Everyone's saying she looks so happy in this video, but I to me she looks rather sad and she tried to hide by dancing and occasionally throwing in a laugh, but in between the laughs I can see the sadness taking over her face. What happened to her is so sad :'(
Her story is sad, but what makes it sadder is she just wanted her fathers love and attention and he just exploited her for the money. He pushed her to work even when she was at her worse rather than have her focus on overcoming her demons. He blamed Blake for introducing her to hard drugs, but it's not his fault she took drugs because of how she felt inside, she needed help to deal with her emotional issues not just a detox....she was screaming for help and her dad just ignored it....very sad
Almost 60 and just saw Back to Black in the cinema. Didn’t know a lot about Amy Winehouse before, but now I’m a true fan. So talented, wish she could’ve had the happy life she deserved ❤️
That poor girl, I cried for her when she died. She struggled through so much and nobody seemed to have cared. She will forever be remembered and missed
some people did try like her friends but others just got in the way and thought it would be better to leave it because she's "fine" like her dad and tried to make as much money out of her as they could just so "the show can go on"😔😢
Barbara Bowman-Fuller wait a flippin second... TF? Ofcourse I know what im talking about! people TRIED TO HELP HER BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY SHE HAD TO USE HER OWN WILL POWER TO STOP DRUGS AND RECOVER FROM HER ADDICTION! have you experienced drugs first hand? >:( wtf are you talking about?
@@SoundGGirlYes, her fans are so silly and naive. They blame her father, her other relatives, friends, et cetera. It was her problem ahd she failed to overcome her illness and addiction.
Fuck you guys. For real, you total bitches. Envy is ugly. And it courses through your veins. Integrity. You don’t have, you ain’t got it. You’ve been winning for a while without it? Ha. Horizon. Change. Watch it. Time is up ✊🏼🦁 Come at me with anything. I really want you to. Let’s go! 😘✨🤘🏼
I, in this moment, LIVE for coming across a little narc den of mutual ego stroke (to balm the crushing, disowned inner shame). Know why? Um, authenticity. Truth. Heart. Empowered. Fearless. Fed up. You guys are weak as piss. If you knew the passion of my truth, and how heart actually rolls - you’d be shittin’ yourselves. So, like I said - on Amy’s behalf. Say something like the above again. And let’s see what I’ve got to say about it, eh? Bet you don’t respond, puss puss 🥱
In the documentary 'Amy', her close friend had said that Amy just didn't think life or performing was 'any fun' without drugs or alcohol . Really sad, given her massive talent. The inability to enjoy life with sobriety was what, I think, took Amy down. If you don't want sobriety, there's little point trying to find it. She didn't want it I don't think, at least not enough..😞
I think she had a disease called addiction and didn't know how to live sober. It's hard because you gotta want help to get better. I wish she had more time to realize she didn't need that stuff. Definitely wish she got healthy so she could still be here singing!
+ginny atchison It's not a matter of wanting something enough. Obviously you never experienced anything that even resembles addiction (that's a good thing, don't.) but drugs work in a simple way, they drain your dopamine resources . Something our brain releases in regular amounts when we do anything that benefits our body: eat, sleep, drink, fuck.....etc. Drugs make our bodies release massive amounts of dopamine that makes everything perfect- no other word for it, seriously. After quitting all addicts say they find everything boring because nothing in the world can make your body release that much dopamine again and everything is underwhelming. In the two years i was getting over my 4 year addiction we're so boring, you're not even depressed because you'd feel sad I was just numb and didn't care. My point is, it takes a while for your body to bounce back and i think she was still in her "bouncing back" period when she died.
+Abraxus Hellsing I understand what you are saying in your reply, about finding life boring without drugs/alcohol, or what ever it may be. I get what you're saying about the massive flush of feel good chemicals, which we release when our brains are stimulated by our drug of choice. What I was trying to say in my previous comment was that I do get how Amy (or any addict) found life boring without chemical stimulation..in fact that is exactly what she said herself, as I had paraphrased. The body does feel very depressed after we try and break the cycle of addiction, and life can seem like it is hell in addiction, yet hell without. You get that of course, by what you said, explaining your own personal situation. But what I added in addition (in my original comment) was from my own personal life experience, and that it, a person HAS to want their recovery and not just need it because others may be concerned and can see that the addict is losing everything. That's all I meant. It is bloody hard to fill the space that addiction holds over us, boring, yes, depressing, absolutely . Also, there were apparently strong indications that Amy may have had BPD. If that was the case (as no psychological evaluation was ever carried out), this could be another reason why Amy, and millions of other people, can't quite break the cycle, even if they appear to be bouncing back for a period of time. Everybody has their own way of dealing with their addiction don't they, like you said about feeling numb and bored etc. We all have our own views, getting back to Amy, but at the end of it all, she was amazing and massively talented, her best was yet to come musically. I have just celebrated eight years of sobriety, having been very near to death, more than once, so perhaps you now understand that I DO in fact, have some experience of addiction. You can't presume that a person has 'obviously never experienced anything resembling addiction', based on a view point that you personally don't agree with. We just need to celebrate each and every sober/clean day because as you know, we are living proof that the cycle can be broken, even if the alternative seems worse for a long time.
ginny atchison I'm happy for you darling. I agree I was a little dismissive but mostly because I'm sick from hearing that stupid "you just need to want to get better" line from other people. White knuckling it though the first 10ish, seemingly eternal, days of agony turned out to be a fucking cake walk compaired to sticking with it.But yeah, we did only get to see a glimplse of Amy's potential and even that flicker kept me fascinated with her for almost 10 years not. Still get that shitty feeling in my chest when I remember she's gone.
I’m listening to her every day at 60 years old.. an ex drug user. Bipolar disorder and anxiety disorder everything . Thank you for these tears. When I hear and see you ❤️
No matter Amys problems, she was a girl who needed big love in her life. I can relate. Pain from emotions are hard to deal with , and depression, well no pill from your doctor can fix the spirit of a hurting person. My relationship with God has helped, but its days of hurting still, and i cant explain the depth of it. I cared for Amy even though i am a fan who never met her. May she rest in peace. May my mother whos in heaven also meet up with Amy and share some love between the two. My mother knew how to love people for who they are.
@@user-zm9yc2kb8x No shit, she did drugs. How does that make her a bad person? She was a beautiful person, she had a beautiful soul, she died young from her drug addiction, she never had anyone there to help her. so the whole "she did drugs soooooo" >>> please fucking explain to me your nasty ass attitude.
gonna sound weird but i think of that a lot watching glee. like Cory monteith naya rivera and (not a fan of but still dead) mark salling. like all three of them dead and it's so weird to watch them act and dance and sing for the show knowing they aren't alive
@@Maw0 probably with heartbreak like the rest of us but at least 100 times worse because unlike any of us she was actually extremely close to Amy and probably knew her inside and out. May she rest in peace
Okay, people are totally twisting this. Dionne Bromfield was Amy’s protege. Amy wasn’t high - she was leaving the spotlight to Dionne, because it was Dionne’s concert not Amy’s. You all need to let the woman rest in peace. She was a beautiful person, and if she had problems so what - every person has problems.
@Siegbert Landgraf Yeah everybody blows up after their death. Amy’s song “rehab” only had 5 million views when she was alive, I checked the other day and now it’s over 270 million views. It’s sad that people only appreciate artists after their death.
I’m an Amy Winehouse super fan and she sounded and looked so healthy and clean here. However, Dionne was so spectacular! She slayed this performance! Also props to her for looking after Amy and looking out for her ❤
Dionne is the epitome of a true friend. I wish other people had her back too. Amy was so talented and died too young! I love her music, played it a lot before she passed and for a while couldn’t bear to listen to it because it made me sad. I hope everyone connected to the music industry learn from this. Pushing these talented artists to perform when they’re needing help is abusive in my mind.
It’s really sad because Amy’s friend said that she had called her this same week and she said she was shocked to hear Amy sound normal for the first time in years. Amy apologized for all the hell she put her through and said she was better. A few days later, she was dead.
her friends said she probably only got really drunk so she wouldn’t have to go on tour bc she just wanted to work on her album but her heart was already failing due to her history w drugs and alcohol and an eating disorder so the amount of alcohol that could’ve just gotten her drunk ended up stopping her heart :(
I remember like it was yesterday, I arrived in London by 2006, from Brazil< when Back to Black was been released. I saw a billboard of Amy and I thought: Who the hell is this girl, at that time news didn't travel so fast and I didn't know her. When I first listened to her singing it was mind blowing. I was hooked. It was such a shame the way she went. R.I.P. dear Amy.
I feel the same. I feel this overwhelming desire to have been in her life at the time of her fame to just hug her and let her know it’s okay and just recognise her mental health issues. That was a huge struggle in her life I think - people constantly denied she had problems
Yeah she was sober in this but you could tell she had zero energy in her body of exhaustion from trying to be clean. She was so unhealthy :'( I can't believe this industry with drug abuse and sexual scandals and we idiolize this... It isn't our fault she overdosed but it's our faults we allow our favourite artists to be in pain and still idolize it.💔💔💔
@Gabrielle Dehetre Amy didn't die from a drug overdose, and its people like you that get it wrong and rumors start. Amy passed away from Alcohol poisoning. Her alcohol test done at the medical enamels office stated that her alcohol consumption for that day was more than 5 times the legal limit. She had NO ILLEGAL DRUGS IN HER SYSTEM AT THE TIME OF HER DEATH. NO THE FACTS BEFORE YOU PUT BULLSHIT COMMENTS FOR THE WORLD TO SEE. RIP AMY, YOU WERENT ONE OF THE GREATEST ARTIST, YOU WERE THE ABSOLUTE BEST OF THE BEST. YOU ARE AN ANGEL, SHINE DOWN ON US THAT LOVE YOU. 😇🙏🙌😇🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👩🎤💜👩🎤💜👩🎤💜👩🎤💜👩🎤💜
Her small frame shows the abuse of alcohol in her "beer belly" That's a sign of alcoholism. Next time you see and skinny person with a protruding belly that's usually what causes it.
Amy had been clean for a while so when she started drinking, her body literally went into shock and couldn’t handle it. Same with Janis Joplin, she had stopped doing drugs for months and when she unfortunately used heroine again for the first time after being clean, the heroine was too pure and killed her.
This is the cutest thing ever! They're both so completely comfortable up there on stage (especially amy). The dancing, the bond, the smiles. So genuine, I love it.
Amy chewing gum..I think it's an effort to not want a cigarette, which goes hand in hand with wanting a drink...she was a warrior up until her untimely passing. 😭🙏❤🙏😭
She was my 👶 age 1983 and he introduced me to her music 🎶 she had melancholic style which I like. He said, listen to her you'll like her 👍 and I sure did! Great Talent gone too soon. "Rest in heavenly peace Amy Winhouse 🙏 ❤️ "
Always go through a withdrawal not having you here.....a voice like yours, once in a lifetime. I just hope you're resting and are no longer going through your demons and have laid them to rest....I love you ❤
Amy Winehouse looks so happy and confident in the video. I just heard Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow sang by Amy. It's AMAZING! She had a beautiful voice authentic real personality. Gone to soon never forgotten. RIP Amy
Hey Derick, It’s 2/21/22 and yes we are still listening to our girl Amy. If only she was alive today, I could only imagine…….rock on Amy, Rock on Babe!
I believe when you say this to be her last performance. She looks like she's over it. just look at her body language. chewing gum not making eye contact she looks like she doesn't really gaf, like she's just there doing the job. & you call that dancing? I've seen performances when she was younger & when she just started to get big; Amy's face would lit up with joy. her eyes would be happy ya know? smiling it's just so sad. it hurts me to this day that she couldn't stay strong for herself and she let others break her down. drugs may numb you up but it will NEVER truly take the pain away. she just needed real love and care. rip Amy, love you & your music
I loved Amy Winehouse. She had a voice that only comes once in a blue moon. Could sing about anything.....and watching her various performances when she could have gotren professional help breaks my heart in 2. There will never be another like her.
So sad she passed away she was a lovely girl with a an absolute amazing voice.. I still remember the very first time she came on the telly and I thought then she is gona go far.. RIP Amy 🌸
Even though it's not Amy's song, all I see is Amy. If only she realised how amazing and beautiful she was. They'll never be another Amy. And as the years go by we're going to realise we lost a f**king Lengend. RIP Amy ❤
Bless her beautifully talented heart. I wish her loved ones would have saved her from her own demise. Rest in peace Amy Winehouse. You are an Icon. You are still missed more than ever.
Claro que no la olvidamos , yo la escucho todos los días , querida Amy , la más grande cantante y la más querida , por tus verdaderos fans , Forever siempre en nuestros corazones ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
she started to look good here and then how sad to hear about her death. I wish i knew her because if i was her friend she would still be alive today. you need to help your friends no matter what and thats all it takes to save a life RIP amy you will be missed
