Thank you for this important content that no one seems to talk about... Oxalates. Sally K. Norton's book and podcast interviews, has literally saved my health, vitality and life. Please have her on again. Her knowledge in this field is tremendous.

Great interview. Thanks. For 20 years no one could explain my chronic back pain. I first heard Sally talk 5 years ago and changed to a low oxalate life style. It was obvious that my 'healthy' diet was not working. I know it may take another 5 years to remove the accumulation of oxalates, but I am looking forward to being able to finally enjoy life at 70. I also recommend her book, as there is much to learn.

I have had bladder pain and gut issues off and on for years, along with endometriosis. The endometriosis led me to a surgery which almost killed me due to doctor mess up. The bladder pain was not always due to infection, although in my older years I have had some bad infections. I found out about D-Mannose and that helps a lot, but pain kept coming back. Then just this year I found Sally Norton and got her book. I stopped eating spinach & potatoes (which I have loved since a kid). I also stopped eating dark chocolate and peanut butter (also favorites). I ate all those foods pretty much on a daily basis. Been eating a lower oxalate diet for 3 months and my bladder and disgestive system have less irritation and pain. I am going to keep going with this way of eating as it has shown to be beneficial. Thank you Sally Norton!

Check out the carnivore diet also. Dr Ken Berry MD, Dr Anthony Chaffee MD, FarmsteadHow, and No Carb Life all on RU-vid. I eat about 80 - 90% carnivore.

I've watched a dozen of these interviews with Sally Norton at this point. While there's a lot of repetition for new viewers, there's also something a bit different every time. For example, how she talks about our culture's obsession with food. That was really enlightening to me. "You GOTTA give your child cake!" A cultural shift away from this disordered eating really is crucial.

Sally Norton's message only came to my attention this year, and I have not had a gout attack since. High purine foods were not the triggers for me. I eat salmon and beef on a regular basis and my body takes to them well. I was eating certain foods, primarily for their health benefit that were extremely high in oxalates: tea, blueberries, dark chocolate, spinach, chard, and beets. My mother is an avid gardener and she would serve purslane and chard on a regular basis. Both are high in oxalates. I still drink tea, but now I cycle in coffee. I dropped nearly everything else high in oxalates that I was eating, eliminated alcohol, and significantly reduced sweeteners, and my joints feel 20 years younger.

I have been chronically ill since my mid twenties. One puzzling thing that happens to me is my teeth, which i brush and floss meticulously, and get cleaned 3x a year, suddenly get a thick coating of calcification on the back of my front teeth. Hard as rocks and i can pick it off with my finger. My dental hygienist is puzzled. Im sure its oxalate

Calcium oxalate and it doesn't protect your teeth. It causes gum disease

I have been primarily carnivore for almost 4 years. The last year, off and on, ive been experiencing small boil-like rash. Usually they break out in 2 to 4 at a time in random areas. These start deep in the skin, like a little bump, then surface and are bigger and itch, then break through the skin, weap a tiny bit and then scab over and disappear. It usually takes a week for this process? Is it oxalate dumping? Will it ever stop? Its been over a year ago that they first started. There was a period of 6 months or so that they were not breaking out, but recently are a problem again.

Yes it is. You need to read her book, she explains how to stop the dumping.

I have 11 kidney stones. You may also. I only found out through a sono. So my body is struggling with oxalates. And I don’t know. So it’s interesting info. Everything doesn’t haven’t to apply to everyone. Just something to think about -

If you have a robust microbiome that still have oxalobacteria then they can help to break down the oxalates.

There’s something called alpha gal that is itching after eating beef and they say it’s allergy to a sugar in meat called alpha galactose. It sounds like it could be the same as a reaction to oxalate?

I am not sure why you would give an n=1 person a platform for her wacko ideas. Oxylates are clearly bad for her. Glad she knows she shouldn't eat them. I guarantee you that whatever she does eat, there will be another person who will tell her why it is bad. I guarantee you that people will walk away from this thinking that it doesn't matter what we eat. Speaking personally, oxalates are great for me. I eat them all the time. They help me. But I don't try to impose that on others. Where are the RCTs or population studies on what she says? And if she is right, why have different people around the world over millennia disagreed with her?

I am one of those people Sally has helped immensely. My allergies of 48yrs disappeared, and so many more benefits. At 70, I have Sally to thank for my health. So, speak for yourself. I've seen no one speak out against her. She has been interviewed over 120 times. Have you read her book? Because she has 48pgs of all of the studies and research she used to write her book. Obviously, this Naturopath interviewing Sally has been helped ridding her body of oxalates, too.

@@jeljel4037I can bet that person is a troll. Their comment makes zero sense. "....why have different people around the world over millennia disagreed with her?" Millennia??? Sally hasn't been around for 1,000 years.🤣 ".....oxalates are great for me. I eat them all the time. They help me." Since WHEN do chards of glass, the worst of the plant anti-nutrients, help you???😂 I swear, either these people have nothing better to do, or someone is paying them to spew bad reviews on health channels.🤦‍♀

She is not wacko, I don't know how you came to that conclusion. This is a well-known science since the Victorian times. She is on all the top platforms, far larger than this one. You clearly have no capacity to question the information you think you know.
