I hope everyone saw the little butterfly lingering in the background of the thumbnail. I did not want to post the huge spoiler of the final boss this time. Also, thank you to everyone who watched the video. The views are INSANE! We are already planning on doing the Arena Cups as well as 100% clean up. We hope to see you there when we get to it. Thank you for all the wonderful support!
To think that the butterfly started out as an everyday wake-up call for Kirby, only to feast on the most powerful soul it can find (Galacta Knight/Soul Forgo) and transform into a literal knight of the underworld, casting judgement on all who come across it. To be honest, I don't think we'll look at the same butterfly ever again (both positively and negatively).
I'm really glad that they brought back Morpho Knight, since he's one of my favourite Kirby characters. It's amazing how they took something as innocent as a butterfly, used it as a character motif, and got really creative and clever with it to the point that they made such a fierce, cool looking character with it.
Yeah! He is such a cool looking character and has become a favorite amongst a lot of Kirby fans. Me included. It will be awesome to see him return in the future.
Something you might miss with the new sword - it has two secret attacks if you hold b while shielding, in the air and while grounded It's insanely fun to use Edit: Also you didn't miss out too much by not getting all the soul fragments, just a figure with some lore about the beast pack Also I've heard conflicting things regarding morphos origin but the main info I've heard is that they happened to show his design on a page of similar designs to meta knight, which caused confusion, but he was meant for a scrapped game. Take with a grain of salt.
Thanks for the tips on the Morpho Knight Sword. I will test then out for sure! I managed to get the figure after the recording. I am going to show it to Michael once we get back to playing it.
He was planned for one of the Cancelled Gamecube games, but yeah it's completely false that he was a beta meta knight, that rumor spread around before star allies even came out too
They put morpho knights design in the meta knight section of the 20th Anniversary book so pretty much everyone assumed he was a beta design for meta knight. In an interview Shinya Kumazaki he confirmed that it was new character made for one of the cancelled GameCube Kirby games. At least that’s what it says on the Kirby fandom page on morpho knight.
I have the same opinion of Star Allies, I absolutely loved it despite its flaws, and the title updates *really* helped it. If Star Allies launched in the state it was in after the final update, it would've been much better received among players, I think. I narrowly beat Soul Melter EX on my first try using Stone, and I was sweating bullets by the end. In comparison, Ultimate Cup Z was incredibly easy using a fully upgraded Morpho Sword w/ items (PB is 6:25.76 currently), but the final boss was so amazing that I really don't mind having to speedrun just to fight him again. I thought they'd never top Galacta Knight for me, but that thing absolutely *crushed* it. You guys are in for a real treat!
We are so excited to fight the REAL final boss, you have no idea! Also, I agree with you completely about Star Allies. I am glad they updated the game as much as they did because it really helped make it a solid game. It was very fun despite it being very easy most of the time. It had so much replay value too.
Here we go again it's time for the "Bosses in a nutshell or my time experiences part 3" let's begin shall we? Phantom Forgo Dedede: Hell incarnate (especially if your going for a No-Hit with no copy abilitys) Forgo Leon: Multitasking the fight and/or shockwaves galore Morpho Knight: NO NOT NOW WHY ARE YOU HERE!?! Also funny thing I lost my copy ability to Forgo Leon and I saw that butterfly show up and absorb Soul Forgo which as some of you might remember the Soul bosses are usually considered the strongest bosses in the series I literally said "NONONONONO NOT NOW I DON'T HAVE A COPY ABILITY!" So yeah I was scared to say the least.
One thing I don't like about Morpho Knight in this game is how there's no explanation for why he fights Kirby. I didn't mind in Kirby Star Allies because it's a bonus non-canon mode. But here it's jarring because this is canonical. Morpho knight shows up, absorbs soul forgo, fights Kirby, refuses to elaborate, and gets killed by soul forgo.
I agree. It feels out of place in some ways, especially for the story. I hope that there will be an explanation at some point in the future. I don't think it will be the last time we see Morpho Knight because he became such a fan favorite. Not sure how they will do it, but I am interested.
@@grekeandshaw morpho knight is bound to come back. There are lots of orange butterflies in the morpho knight challenge area in the lava area. Hal should get storytellers because it's ridiculous how there are lots of story elements either not being explained, lost in translation, or hidden in the background.
Best Let's Play I've seen in years. You guys have that classic genuine free spirited humor that was only common online when I was very young, and actually makes me laugh. Your reaction to Morpho Knight was also priceless
Just discovered this channel, the stuff you make is insane, your content is not boring but is entertaining as hell, also the fact that you did not spoil anything in the thumbnail is awesome! (well except for Leongar but I mean, everyone was ready for that lmao)
So according to some discussion amongst fans, Morpho Knight is Kirby’s grim reaper or incarnate of death. Butterflies in some cultures represent death and rebirth and as we know, Morpho Knight loves to absorb extremely powerful beings in order to rebirth them self. Extra fun Fact! This is the first time Morpho Knight has been officially canon. His appearance in Star Allies was in a bonus “What If?” Scenario, meaning Galacta Knight is actually fine, still floating somewhere in space. Some then ask why Morpho Knight looks like Galacta Knight if he never actually absorbed him and that’s most likely due to coincidence. If you’re going to be the quintessential force of death and the one who basically runs the concept, it makes sense to have a body similar to the two strongest warriors in the galaxy, Galacta Knight and Meta Knight.
well, whether or not GK is fine is up for debate, because there is some consistency with his appearances (whether or not he's sealed at the end of a fight determines if he's sealed at the start of the next fight) that might imply that while none of them are canon to the *main timeline*, all of GK's appearances are canon *to him*, which would mean Morpho still absorbed him, but thats currently just a theory (it would certainly make sense with how the canon reason Morpho absorbed him is because he was so tired from fighting he just wanted Morpho to make it all stop)
@@thehatman7051 Wow, thank you all so much for the lore! That is really cool. People have told me that most things that happen with Galacta Knight are only Canon to him because he is a time traveling, dimension hopping warrior. He was one of the four heroes that fought against Void Termina a long time ago. Morpho Knight being the force of death is just terrifying. He has made me and a lot of other Kirby fans afraid of butterflies. Lol
@@thehatman7051 Okay but if there is multiple universes than there would also be multiple Galacta Knights in those universes. The Galacta Knight in the main universe is sealed away while the Galacta Knight in the side games is dead.
@@grekeandshaw It's the strongest sword in the game. It has multiple attacks, a level 3 charge that uses Ultra Sword Slam, Crescent Shots, the Soundblast Attack (midair only), the Soul Summon (ground only), HP siphoning when the blade hits an enemy... It's objectively the most overpowered ability in the game.
Lol! Leongar wasn't messing around during this battle. He was certainly much tougher the second time and I am glad for it. The first time we fought him, he was much to easy.
about morpho knight's concept art, fandom wiki usually has better info than wikirby. on the fandom wiki, one of the bits of trivia at the bottom of morpho's page roughly says: "Morpho's design was first shown in a 20th Anniversary booklet. It was shown in Meta Knight’s section, so many assumed it to be a beta design of Meta Knight, but in an interview with Shinya Kumazaki, he confirmed that the design was for a different knight that would have appeared in the cancelled kirby game that was originally for the gamecube, now generally known as Kirby GCN." also, apparently Kirby GCN would've been 3d like forgotten land, and had the friend system like star allies. it's cool to see that a lot of the things that were put into it ended up being repurposed instead of just trashed
Fun Fact: Morpho Knight’s design was originally Meta Knight’s design according to some Japanese concept art. Which would be recycled 15 years later in Star Allies.
I found this channel today and I really enjoy it I remember back in the classic days of RU-vid gaming where duo channels were very common, besides channels like Game Grumps you don't really see it all that often, it's refreshing and I love the chemistry you two have Out of the Kirby games you have played, which has been your favorite so far?
Hi there and welcome to the channel! Thank you for checking out our videos! My favorite Kirby so far has been Planet Robobot and this one comes pretty close to that. I am not sure what Michael's favorite is, but he is really enjoying this one as well.
Yeah you completed the post-game! Now the only thing left is the true arena of this game: The Ultimate Cup Z! Also , this is Morpho Knight's first canon appearance in the series , Guest Star from Star Allies wasn't canon at all. After the battle against Morpho Knight , you can see Forgo escape from him , and it seems like it has acquired some of Morpho Knight's power. So , along with some of the native beast souls that it has absorbed , what will it do with some of the power it acquired from Morpho Knight? You'll find out in the final battle of the Ultimate Cup Z!
My experience playing Kingdom Hearts and Bayonetta really helped me. The ramped up dificulty of the post game bosses at first caught me of gaurd. I lost 2 ore 3 times to that tree boss but after that and a break I wreckt the post game with Meta Knights Sword and and good use of Kirbys witch time I won the rest fairly easily. Honestly Morpho Knight is pretty easy. Then with the beautiful new Morpho sword I atemptet the Ultimate Arena Z and got all the way to the final and lost 2 ore 3 times. I was glad I did not had to go through everything again when I loose but I decided to prepare a little better and come back latter and on my next try I crushed them all. It was so much fun.
Yeah, Morpho Knight isn't too difficult, but he sure is fun to fight. I am excited to play through the Arena for the extra challenge. Congrats in finishing it yourself.
@@grekeandshaw it can be in some ways but in others not so mutch, the main reson is that the ultimate z cup gives little hp reseorces and even with that the final boss of the cup has 3 phases all of witch have realy dificlut to dodge atacks, morpho kinda cheeses some of it but its still prity hard
@@grekeandshaw the crazy thing is that they didnt use his design for something else, it served the same purpose it was going to in the gcn game. Don't believe me? The butterfly started showing up in return to dreamland which was the game they made after the kirby gcn game. THEY WERE PLANNING TO USE THAT DESIGN FOR A WHILE!
@@maskedman1195 Oh, no way! That's really cool! I suppose we are going to see it pretty soon because Return to Dreamland is the next game we are planning to go through!
i'd love to see you guys play Amazing Mirror at some point, no idea how you'll do it, but it is technically multiplayer, and i think its multiplayer is super cool!
Hopefully you guys have gotten the morpho knight ability and are using it by the time ur next video is up so I wanted to let u know that it has special secret attacks like if you hold shield and then hold b it does a cool thing and if u jump in the air and then hold shield plus b it does another cool thing also if you shield then slide with a and then press a again then press b it does a cool combo
From his figure description morpho knight came from another dimension or time do you realize what this means it means every true arena and side game is technically canon since morpho knight appearing shows there is a Kirby multiverse
I'd note as far as we know though the non-canon events doesn't come from another dimension, since we already have multiple dimensions that doesn't involve alternate events, like the mirror world (the closest thing to an alternate dimension as it actually contains copies of existing characters), another dimension (star allies), and forgo dreams.
It is and it isn't. There is a lot of confusion surrounding the picture shown in the book, but it was confirmed that Morpho Knight was a new character that was going to appear in a cancelled GCN game. The reason people thought it was a beta design was because it literally has Meta Knight's name underneath the picture of Morpho Knight. I have been told by multiple people by now that it's one or the other and I still don't know what to believe.
If you want a ultimate challenge for the true arena, use base sword, from experience, it's absolute hell, it took me 30 minutes to even get to the final boss, and 15 minutes fighting just the final boss to die to it, it is really challenging (no items btw), it is harder then not using any abilities, because those stars do more damage then Base sword. However there is a way to make it even harder, but I won't reveal it until you beat the true arena at least once. On the topic of viewing the 100% or skipping till you guys get it all, I personally wouldn't mind watching you guys do 100%.
I also suggest you to take some abilities that you've missed, you can talk to the wise waddle dee,he Will tell you where this are, like the tornado One in the boss rush level
Can you play Kirby Super Star Ultra on the DS? That game is a full on remake of Kirby Super Star on the SNES which also adds 3 whole subgames to play. I am not going to tell you about them because I dont want to give any spoilers.
We have definitely considered it. We did play the original Kirby Super Star on the SNES, but I know that Ultra has so much more sub games. We hope to tackle that game next year along with Triple Deluxe, Return to Dreamland Remake, Epic Yarn, Rainbow Curse, Squeak Squad, etc.
Morpho Knight's design is really cool, it's also Meta Knight's beta design. That's how meta Knight was going to look like on the first place but they ended up discarding it and then, a lot of years later, they ended up bringing the design back for Morpho
@@riospark8849 I am getting a lot of conflicting information because I mentioned that in the Star Allies video, but people are now telling me it was a unused design for another game which was never released on the GameCube. They ended up using it anyway, it seems.
Have you guys attempted the Ultimate Cup Z yet? If not, there's two bosses exclusive to it, so there's some new content there. If you don't want to record it, or have already done it, that's perfectly fine. I just think it would be interesting to see.
@@grekeandshaw you can sort of choose your difficulty depending on what copy abilities you use. With starred Morpho Knight, the difficulty can best be described as moderate (and most of it comes from [REDACTED]). Base Sword? Best of luck to you, you're in for a long, grueling boss rush.
Hey you remember the last games final boss True Arena ex Soul melter yeah just take the hardest bosses in the last game and knock them up 10 and combine them and you get the new final boss
You're not can I say something people are the new sword evolved is op you're not just going to breathe through the arena because most of the bosses go away you can't hit them you going to need fall ranged attacks because some bosses use attacks that too far away
Okay so is guest star Canon or is forgo dreams Canon or are you telling me there both not or is he just here for reference. I'm trying to see what you think at this point cause I just don't know anymore.
As a point when you mentioned Dead or Alive, for all the crap it gets (and kinda deserves sometimes) it can at least hold the point of being WAY better at treating his female characters in a STORY sense then even long runners like Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat ever can. Rose was made to be Bisons ultimate counterpart and enemy but fails every time and needs saving all the time. Chun-Li for being SF's strongest woman doesn't really have much in the way of accomplishments to her name either, no tournament wins or major villain defeats of her own in the canon. MK ain't any better with having its multiple females falling up short or the strongest ones getting some REALLY bad storylines or deus ex machina power ups out of nowhere: Sindel becoming uber powerful and wiping out like a dozen or more of the good guys games ago and only got stopped by Nightwolf sacrificing himself. And then came back with a whole new backstory with NO brainwashing at all. Then it took till MK11 for anyone of the female gender in the canon games to have a win over Shao Khan if memory serves with Kitana FINALLY getting one over him, up till then she never came close even though he's her biggest personal enemy. At least from the word go DOA made it clear that Kasumi was not only the Heroine but one of the strongest characters in the roster or series, with only Ryu Hayabusa being her equal or better, and he only gets that because Ninja Gaiden is canon and he's the Super Ninja for a bloody reason.
The female characters of Dead or Alive are badass! Sure, they are sexy to a point that is unrealistic, but they are very good characters and are treated as such in the story. Kasumi is one of all time favorite female characters because of how powerful she is.
@@grekeandshaw exactly Case in point she ultimately fights and kills Raidou the same villain that escaped her father and older brother Both people who we are initially believed are suppose to be stronger then her, but as the story of the games progress consistently proves is not the case Hell, one could say AYANE is stronger then Hayate cause while he was out on his injury and later amnesia she was doing the following: hunting Kasumi, participating in EVERY DOA tournament to continue said hunt, and all while also dropping in to occasional aid Ryu in his games She’s a busy bee all while being several years younger
@@arashitendou5941 Oh yeah, Ayame kicks major ass too. I loves the fact that she was playable in Ninja Gaiden 2 as well as her and Kasumi being playable in Ninja Gaiden 3. Momiji is also really cool. I think she may be the prettiest of all the girls. I just really like her face. That sounds weird lol.
@@grekeandshaw yeah I messed up, turns out Galacta Knight still isn’t canon, see the butterfly which has been in almost every modern game is which makes Morpho Knight canon, im just assuming if the butterfly touches anything purely evil then it gets absorbed into said person and becomes Morpho Knight as shown with Forgo. And whenever it touched Kirby nothing happened, because Kirby is… well Kirby so sorry my bad
@@susiehaltmann3342 It's no problem. Galacta Knight and Morpho Knight have some pretty confusing lore at times and it didn't help that the 2 of them combined to make it more confusing.
