holy shit i didn't expect someone to actually cover a game i actually personally played, beutiful.

I remember watching the series when I was very young, and revisiting it makes me realize how many jokes they got away with! And how an emotional ride it is, Stage 9 really was something. The joke that really hits hard for me is when Dan (The Player) straight up rejected Josie "She's just an NPC" In her mind he just straight up left her for some random girl they met in the woods while they were on their date in her perspective! (Her character growth and becoming sentient was phenomenal!) Dan aka the Player is just- Typical Dan gotta love how the Player just only cares about beating the game. Also I like to mention it kinda sucks for Josie when your Boyfriend DIES while trying to get your attention, and running into him again. My goodness, Looking at the story She's been through so much! Overall, makes her one of the hest written love interests ever! I think, We already know how DAN THE MAN will end, Cause Dan asked ana a question in Stage 6 about How do I beat the game? And she responds with something similar like "You remember Josie, Yeah, you gotta marry her" And Dan's response just says it all. Im surprised that they changed and deleted it though. Hold on, If Josie is pregnant- and we Never heard of it ever again that might mean...Oh boy- im gonna come back to this comment if in the finale of Dan The Man possibly Season 3 after Dan Marries Josie she'll tell him she's pregnant.

it's kinda based edit: looking at it closer, the political/ideological implications of this whole story as it starts and ends, is kinda, all over the place, and a bit harrowing to say the least hell, the last "lesson" we end with in stage 8 is "Don't get involved and enjoy the moment". in fact, the whole ass struggle between the rebels, the peace-seeking villagers and the corrupt upper class is some real shit, but damn does it end up in a really pessimistic way. while there's some nuance to discuss here and there, it generally boils down to the phrase "it is what it is, ignorance is bliss, so don't even bother" and, having that be the within a series that portrays a class-struggle which becomes an all-out war, is a bit saddening, to me at least. i did like the aspect of Dan not choosing to just let everyone walk all over him and joining the rebels, essentially, taking action, because it was clear from the very beginning that peace alone wasn't going to change the minds of any of the big people in charge of the kingdom. that doesn't, of course, make peace invalid, but all across history, the concept and act of revolution has been constant, and it's always been rough at least, since humans are stubborn and asking nicely, having debates and such, hell not even bribery seem to get through to anyone. It's funny how this little mobile game/webseries I engaged with as a kid is out here making some genuine political statements, although not the bravest, nor the most groundbreaking, as the idea of just staying in your lane and letting the status quo remain as is, as long as YOU'RE fine, is literally the norm, and is the basis for the kind of system and society which we're a part of. I also remember, someway, somehow, stumbling across some weird video waaay back then, in 2015 or so, that covered the early Dan The Man episodes, from a MGTOW perspective. Nowadays, MGTOW would be called, I guess, the sigma male community or whatever the fuck, the manosphere, something like that, and it soured my taste for Dan The Man a little bit. It was nice to revisit it here though.
