The True Story Behind My Dream Career

I'm too lazy to live your lifestyle. Most people are, that's why they live vicariously through you. Even negative commenters. Peace!

If cycling 100 miles a day was easy everyone would do it. Filming, editing and uploading videos while doing it. That is so much work...

Man, I love you, especially because you are kind and honest, and also because you are proud of your background (and also a bit because of being a vegetarian and you don't drink). I respect you for what you have done with the cards you were dealt, you inspire me. I am not white, but I did have a privileged childhood, privileged in a sense that I had all the love from both my parents, and the best education that they could afford and that I count as my biggest privilege. Money, well that is a different topic.

I always have a good feeling after watching your videos. Thank you for making this world a better place Ryan.

lol people just love to make assumptions without any objective data. the same people that do that would scream bloody murder if you looked at them and did the same. MY assumption was that you spend many long hours thinking up ideas, executing them and the effort expended is enormous. Obviously this person spent no time really looking at your vids. Personal responsiblity for every aspect of our lives is the key to freedom. Take responsiblity and noone else controls you. For better or worse. Ryan, no explanation needed.

I like the fact that you put it all "out there". Not only do you let us know who you are inside and out, but you inform us all in how your process works. I mean you're just a regular dude that likes the outdoors, likes adventures, and likes people. You basically give us the blueprint to do your life. But what sets you apart - is you. Being a son to an immigrant to this country one thing I was taught is that you need to work hard and go take what you want from life. Your being white has nothing to do with it and you don't need to explain. Best to you Ryan and your Mom is the best! After my parents who are my heroes in this life! Brother, you don't owe anybody any explanation. I like your videos because I'm a cyclist and I like outdoor adventures. Plus you do damn good videos. If you were monetarily rich it would make no difference to me. Keep on doing and loving what you do.

Great video Ryan. As a content creator myself, I can absolutely relate to everything you said. On the outside it looks like we have the most incredible lives, and we do, but damn is it a lot of work. In the past 9 years I've probably only had a few handful of days off. I typically work 7 days a week, 12+ hours a day. But you know what they day, if you enjoy what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. ;-) Continued success my friend!

I like your life story. From watching your videos. You can see how haw hard you tried. Your mom and mine is the same. She selflessly, provided. Put the idea if we want something, visualize it and it will come to you. She gave us latitude to go outdoors. She let us ride hundreds of miles and camp on bikes.

Although the comment that sparked this sounds like it came from a judgmental place, it wasn't entirely wrong, and if it's what sparked this video from you, I'm glad it was made. I've wondered what your trajectory was like, so it's just all the more inspiring that not only are you not ashamed of your humble beginnings, but maybe even proud of some of the choices that others might frown upon. I also grew up relatively poor, but able bodied, white, and male, and have found myself scraping my frugal resources together to travel the world. Just today having to assure a friend that I don't have a trust fund, just a willingness to prioritize. Even still, the fact that I am white, male, able bodied, and lucky enough to have gotten a half decent education and loving parents, it's no doubt had a huge effect on what's been possible. How many people, all other things being equal, would never be able to do those things no matter how hard they tried? And what's enough for an individual to do to help? Looking forward to your video on the subject that you mentioned early on in this one. Thanks for all your great work and videos!
