As someone with no kids I almost feel the opposite. I see parents being selfish and using having kids as excuses for their short comings not to actually engage and try to make changes in society, cause now they are "responsible" for the kids and just pray their kids will be fine. The ones that actually do something about it, lost a kid or something traumatic happened to make them switch. I'm not saying this to judge, it's a simple observation.

Writing from Australia. Love your work Patric BD. This topic has always interested me and I can only speak from my childhood experience in which my older sister and I were physically abused as kids (my sister getting the worst of it). She was also molested by my grandfather and wasn't believed. My father who physically abused us received a phone call late on a week night from my uncle saying that his youngest daughter (one of three girls) had woken up that night screaming "he's touching me, he's touching me". I will never forget the look on my sisters face when that call ended. My father used to catch my older sister sneaking out of her bedroom window to go for walks with our neighbors daughter who was the same age as my sister. My father on more than one occasion would wait in her room with the lights off and when she returned, she was harshly dealt with but I vividly remember my father saying/yelling at her, "You'll end up becoming a f..... prostitute". She did end up becoming a prostitute but at a licensed brothel where she could feel safe in a controlled environment, she made decent money, didn't have the stigma of shame as it was a legal profession and paid income tax. I know that this is a very sensitive subject and my sister wasn't exempt from personal and societal shame when she did eventually tell me what profession she was in. I wasn't "elated" for her but I was very relieved to know that she was in a safe environment. I did recently look up legislation regarding "sex workers" in the US and the UK and I guess I'll leave it there respectfully. Thanks and take care .

All countries need to be held accountable for policing this issue. It shouldn’t be up to the US to do it for everyone else

My partner and I decided after watching sound of freedom that we won’t have kids of our own, we want to adopt and rescue a kid in need of a family to protect and support them. We don’t need more people on this planet there’s too many kids out there that need help😢
