Hope you enjoy the video folks. I didn't edit out the uses of Nuka on the holotapes, so here's hoping it doesn't flag it again :/ Any suggestions for future content, drop them here :)
I would love to see you continue on other interesting areas of Nuka World, like Oswald the ghoul in the Kiddie Kingdom or the strange experiments conducted in the Among the Stars exhibit. By the way, can’t remember if your previous video mentioned it or if you felt it just wasn’t relevant to the story you were telling here, but it’s thought that some survivors of A.F.A.D. (I think they were actually bigger than the 4-5 individuals we hear of through holotapes) eventually evolved to be the animal mask wearing raiders we encounter called The Pack. Also, when the terminal mentions losing around 3 reptiles to the original organization & made rules that keepers had to hold onto them from then on, it didn’t occur to me that they just grabbed them and took off. 🤣 That’s definitely more Fallout-like, but i😢had always assumed it meant due to their protests and lawful actions in a way like PETA would put pressure, though they’ve also done some outlandish things. I thought they successfully got animals taken away with accusations of abuse of mistreatment, using incidents that occurred like the venomous mishap to prove their point. A physical grab now seems more probable, after hearing you retell it. I need to get back to my playthrough where I’ve not done most of the DLCs other than Mechanist and just retook Castle in main plot. With all my mods (XB series X), I want to build small settlement areas in each part of Nuka World. Thank you so much for the entertainment. 💕
Given how gator claws are built compared to their more famous cousins, I wouldn’t be surprised if they could breed with regular Deathclaws given the chance. If that’s the case, them getting loose could have made the Deathclaw species as a whole far more dangerous. Imagine them with gator jaws, thicker osteoderms, on top of all the variants of Deathclaw you could imagine. A freakin chameleon gator claw derived from that rare Deathclaws traits would have been a perfect blending of the species, combining ultimate stealth with the gator’s predatory instincts, able to dominate bodies of water and land as a staggering powerful ambush predator.
@@amberkat8147 it’d be worth it. They’d be like bipedal Nile crocs with stealth capabilities, probably have rams horns instead of the front curling horns to make way for the longer snout and better compliment the beast’s bite force. Also, with crocodilian dna, these new Deathclaws would be very competitive, only the strong would survive, and if you encounter one in the wild, be wary. These beasts after years of breeding the strongest would have Deathclaw resistant hide theoretically, meaning this new breed has trouble cutting through the hide of its own kin, meaning the toughest natural armor on a beast you could imagine, especially if it’s a croc claw that’s aged quite a bit, as this new breed also would be bigger as it ages, like the super mutant behemoth 😂
I know fallout is know for it's wacky "science". But come on, 2 different species can't naturally reproduce. Although they resemble each other, their DNA structure is obviously different.
Hey, I'm just gonna point out that his sister, Kesha McDermott, is found in Fallout 76 as one of the dead Responders in Flatwood. She is the water scientist in Flatwoods.
So the line about creating something that was turned inside out and exploded is a reference to the movie Galaxy Quest, where a miscalculation in the first ever use of the ship's teleporter caused the test subject to, well, be turned inside out and explode.
There's also a line of dialogue in Skyrim where an experiment is described as smelling like a creature being turned inside out and exploding. At least one Bethesda writer is a Galaxy Quest fan.
@@zaz_gamerggg3022 Well in the nicest way, deathclaws are a bit overdone and I think they need a replacement of sorts. Similar to the brotherhood and super mutants, I think they need a rest for a few games.
i think what AFAD meant by the rollercoaster hurting the animals is maybe the loud mechanical sounds of the coaster running and the vibrations of it, the screams of the patrons - they thought maybe the animals would be super sensitive to it. especially with them being underground in the chamber.
Damn should have came down and would have seen this. Definitely would be harmful and depending on where the station was also could disturb the animals by vibrations
When the Gunners came to Nuka World Lanier sent out recon teams. The tree house is the kind of place they would have looked at as a base. These two soldiers might be part of that team. Just a suggestion.
Yeah, I’m gonna have to debunk that one, based on the gear they have and the level of decay. More likely these were servicemen who were deployed to keep the peace in the first days of the apocalypse and took up the best position they could find during the riots.
Honestly A.F.A.D strikes me as the kind of people that would do very sus things to animals despite being pro animal right. Whenever I play through Fallout 4's DLC I always feel uncomfortable listening to the A.F.A.D tapes.
I think Animal Friends And Defenders is most likely a reference to the history surrounding rights groups and politics at Disney parks. There was a group known as the “Yippies” who replaced the flag on Tom Sawyer island with their own flag.
@@ctdaniels7049no Tom Sawyer was an animal conservationist not an animal rights activist there's a big difference one believes in controlled destruction and the other is a bunch of dog humping nut jobs
I figure he used alligators because they were one of the few animals to live so long without being horrifically damaged by the radiation. Genetic material tends to degrade heavily when exposed to radiation.
its disappointing that something as big as a cloning machine is just left to rot the brotherhood and the institute would go hard for this even the raiders or minutemen could use something like this for a endless supplies food yet nothing wasted potential
Post game minutemen, having recruited perhaps some of the bioscience institute scientists. Certainly could get the machine working again. Requires the player to do open season in nukaworld to get rid of the raiders sure, but not impossible.
Imagine the two soldiers though. S1: Quick, up into Cappie's Treehouse. S2: Are you daft, there's no escape up there. S1: We will have the high ground. S2: You just wanna go up there. S1: ...I invoke the 5th.
S1: Also just cause your last name is McGregor doesn't mean you're Obi-Wan Kenobi. S2: ...Only a Sith deals in absolutes. S1: When we're dead I'm gonna take you to hell with me.
Fair enough, I can think of worse ways to die a slow death than drinking soda in a treeehouse while shooting monsters with a bazooka. Heck as a California resident I might try the same with Disneyland if I survive the initial onslaught.
He more than likely found a deathclaw corpse since there are deathclaws in the general vicinity and spliced it's genes with a gator. Thats the better explanation for their resemblence beyond Bethesda being lazy and not making 100% new models and animations which is actual reason for the resemblance. The scavengers he saw were most likely the first settlers of Nuka World and predated Cito while the Gatorclaws was very recent, maybe the week before the player arrives.
I can second this. I used to live by an animal park that got bought out by a major amusement park company. They put in a bunch of roller coasters and the kangaroos literally committed suicide by jumping head first into their enclosure fence because of all the screaming people on the rides.
Also I’m pretty sure seen studies where bird nesting sites were tested at different light levels and if I’m not mistaken may have even caused an effect to the eggs the mothers laid
As a human I go to an amusement park and want to kill myself, so many people yelling, also so many people period, any music the park plays is also at 11. So I can understand the animal's frustration, I can at least leave the park.
I was seriously just in the mood for some fallout lore and like magic my fave Fallout lore person uploads. love your stuff man happy any time you are able to upload, i know it aint easy making regular content so i appreciate each one you make!
They would fit perfectly in a swamp themed fallout like Florida or Louisiana, though I've heard in New Vegas that some guy calls them Deathjaws, and either it's the same species different name or a whole new species that are similar to them
@@ralcogaming7674 While this is true different names for tge animals in different regions is standard. For example puma, cougar, panther, and mountain lion are all names for the same animal.
@@LanMandragon1720 brahmin, deathclaw, super mutant, ghouls, West and East coast agree in fallout. Strange almost like you're making a false equivalency.
I was gonna put this video off until later, since I thought it could only be like 20 minutes long max based on it's premise. But, then I saw the length, and I knew it was gonna be good.
I would absolutely love a snake petting zoo! Not venomous ones of course, but that's more because people wouldn't know how to handle them safely. Most snakes are pretty chill, and even constrictors won't be dangerous so long as there's at least one other person around to help get it off you if it feels like getting a little too clingy.
I am somewhat flabbergasted by the presentation of certain projects being under an amusement park. Their presence, references and a personal connection between them and Bradburton’s ambitions isn’t so much a problem just the fact it’s under the park itself.
The fact that I share Dr. Hein's last name made this quest a little personal. Loved the cloning machine and the fun you shenanigans you could get up to with it.
I think the treat level is for how likely a animal is to attack. Chinchilla everything is safe cause they can do nothing. Oerangatang is rather friendly, but still capabel of damages sow be aware. Dingo likely to be agressief, but not capabel of large amount of damages. Grizzly capabel of massive amounts of damages and near guerenty to cause some sort of damages.
I'm guessing civil liability case law is different in fallout as u r correct liability waivers only absolve the defendant if A the incident was unforseen act of god Or b the plaintiff was at fault due illegal actions, negligence or jackassery (my term) So the parks creatures getting out and attacking ppl makes it their fault. In our world at least. Most companies still have u sign the waiver hoping to use it against u in pretrial but ya if the company is even a bit liable it's usually all on them
So the line about creating something that was turned inside out and exploded is a reference to the movie Galaxy Quest, where a miscalculation in the first ever use of the ship's teleporter caused the test subject to, well, be turned inside out and explode.
You know years and years of seeing Deathclaws has not stripped me of my rest of them one combat scenario with gatorclaws and I can't be afraid of them like they look so weak compared to Deathclaw
How does a roller coaster affect animals: In short, the sound and vibrations, snakes especially are prone to ground vibration as it's how some species locate prey. Having a large, constantly running roller coaster nearby would put a good deal of stress on the animals. Would this affect them more than cloning? Probably not. But one of those questions is a work of fiction, the other is a real possibility
i could think of a reason that the animal rights activests might have fixacted on the roller coster. the loud noises it created would have being very distressing to the animals though considering they lived in cages so small and craped that victoian era zoos would have thought a little too cruel this is not just not seeing the forest through the trees, but missing the trees as well as the bushs and what ever else
Orangutans are very docile and gentle, so it makes sense that they are lower than dingos. While Orangutans are physically stronger, it takes a lot to provoke them to violence. Dingos are much more aggressive
Ik doesn’t make much difference cause this world is even more slightly corrupt than our own, but I think the harm the animals would have been suffering near the coaster would be due to noise and light pollution, making it difficult to sleep which has severe consequences on living beings. Possibly also eating litter or bodily fluids projected out of the ride. Just more additional reasons their lives sucked besides being kept in sparse heavily overcrowded cages
I used to watch your Fallout 4 Lore videos to sleep a couple years ago, because I found your voice so calming, I'm so happy you're still making videos ♡
I don't know, Apple. Thinking of an Alligator on the same terms of a deathclaw sounds like it would be the deadliest creature on the planet with almost no competition - Deathclaw would have advantage because it would be more capable on land I presume. But in water, I think gatorclaw would dominate.
Thank you for finally covering this for me. I have been ADHD curious about the lore of these creatures forever. I couldnt have pieced all this together myself ingame, let alone as cohesive as you have done. Awesome work.
Fun (if not sad) fact: “-ito” is a Spanish suffix for “little,” so Marcosito means Little Marcos. Marcos was his father’s name. That also means that Cito refers to himself as little, which is ironic, because he is not. That’s also why “doritos” is intended to mean “little bits of gold,” though I just see them as sharp diabetes triangles lol
Ive just been busy with life, but plan on watching all your new vids! Don’t let the low views discourage you. Hype is bigger nearer the release of a Fallout game.
As far as the Treehouse goes, there is evidence of US military units being active for some time after the bombs fell, Cambridge Polymer labs terminals reference elements with enough functional chain of command to organise an extraction, the Military checkpoint in South Boston's broadcast, Mass Bay medical where the military took over and continued operation for a time, the fact the Vertibird, APC and troops are gone from Sancutary when you leave Vault 111. Fallout 3's Germantown Police Station refugee Centre and whoever put up those signs near vault 87. My assumption for the Treehouse was some military personnel established an Observation Post in the Treehouse after the bombs fell, its got good views of the surrounding area, the missile launcher implies they weren't just guests at the park and were part of a larger unit, what killed them or what happened to that unit who knows (but given their OP was dead I doubt it was good)
44:23 I have my own educated speculation here. Doctor McDermot may have not known reproductive abilities of the Gatorclaws if it was one of the first few he made that gave him his fatal wounds. Super Mutants are known to have reproductive parts that are functional except for firing blanks. Since McDermot only had the one encounter with a dead super mutant, he may not have known of their genetic infertility issue and thus not corrected for it in the Gatorclaws.
@@thenthapple maybe, maybe not. I don't see enough evidence for either side. I thought he would think it was fertile based on the previous creatures made by the machine being fertile.
Maybe McDermot's first failed clone was supposed to be the quantum deathclaw, would make sense with it emitting extreme amounts of radiation. Maybe they removed it because it didn't make sense for it to come from the cloning facility but be seemingly linked to the nukalurks in the bottling facility
