The fact that 16 year old Garam explained much better and properly what happened in comparison to a whole entertainment agency is concerning.
@Miraiana
@Miraiana 2 года назад
I'm too old to "villainize" anyone, hence, whether Garam is innocent or guilty is not the main problem here. The main problem is that a group of adults wasn't able, or worse case, couldn't bother (because it wasn't profitable anymore), to explain what actually happened and clear up this whole situation. If Garam is guilty, she is still young, and she will have the chance to grow up and mature. If Garam is innocent, however, the adults, kpop fans and damn netizens just gloriously ruined a young person's future, potential and possible career in entertainment. That's all that matters.

What Eunseo did: took and released nudes of a minor What Garam did: cursed at her (there was no mention of physical violence even from eunseo's law firm) What Eunseo received: level 8 punishment but she changed school before action could be taken What Garam received: level 5 punishment which is the most common at their school But now look, who's the being called the victim and who's being called the bully. Who's gaining sympathy and who's receiving hate and online bullying from millions of people. It's sad tbh. People so easily target the accused one. The even sadder thing is that they will believe everything and anything said by the 'victim' and random online posts but they will never believe what Hybe is saying. They'll continue to convince themselves that Garam is a villain. You know why? Cuz people LOVE drama. I hope Garam can recover the trauma she faced over the months. I'm not even her or her group's fan but it kills me to see hate comments (most of them are filled with misinformation) against a minor everyday on the internet.

This is literally a case where if everyone had just shut up it wouldn't have gotten this bad. The law firm itself stated the reason Eunseo tried to commit s*icide was because of all the hate and bullying she received online. So... people just decided to send all the hate and bullying to Garam instead. Also, I think the reason why people don't see Garam as the "hero" and Eunseo as the "bad guy" like in those comparisons is because they just completely disregard what came before it. They automatically assume Eunseo as a victim and as such Garam is the bad guy so that it makes THEM the good guy instead, the heroes who are attacking the "bad guy" online

The worst part was that people started associating their past traumas with her case. "I know how it feels cause i was ....." "I also was ....." "it makes me feel sick cause i have ....phobia" like shut the fuck up. It is not your story. No how matter how you were bullied or assaulted, it's still between garam eunsoo and all we can do is come to a conclusion based on facts and proved evidences. People somehow attached their emotions into the case. Another problem was that hybe did all this publically on a 16 year old. This case should've been private in between hybe and daeryun or the alleged victim etc, now a teenager is being bullied all over the world because of unproven statements. Also, can you believe a fucking 12 year old would drink and smoke? Really? It's not america, it's asia we're talking about, you'd be dead if your mom finds out and your mom _will_ find out. Fourth, a company as big as hybe would not go all the way to protect a bully, they have to maintain a good image, but they still defended garam with all their might (which eventually took a wrong turn). This just shows she wasn't as big of a bully, just a middle schooler who curses a lot. Hybe should've let her stay in hiatus and bring her back for the second comeback, but I'm understanding that hybe also can't go against millions of twitter fuckers who think they're the only special people in this world. This situation shouldn't have been public in the first place. I hope garam finds peace and takes care of herself after this. Imagine being an idol for just 17 days, as a minor, and getting snatched away from your dreams just bc of unproven rumors. We should've been neutral from the first place, poor garam.

The thing about this alleged actions is that there is no evidence this all happened, no written record, this all came from hybe's statement with no proof unlike the the alleged victim where even Korea's ministry of education confirmed there is evidence that garam received punishment. And I think this is where hybe made a huge mistake in handling this whole situation. They chose to blame the alleged victim, which irked knetziens and even their employees. They should have just taken legal action and released a generic statement to deny everything that garam allegedly did like what other companies have done in the same situation. I believe they put Garam into all of this, and failed her. They should have done a background check before even trying to debut her. I'm not saying she is a bully, but she does have a record no matter what, and that record should have prevent all of this from happening.

Well shit. I didn't realize that there was an issue of sexual harassment in this, and that Garam's family isn't very well-off economically. Considering the society of the country involved, it makes sense that Garam might actually be innocent. People who are victims or witnesses of sexual harassment tend to be ignored or even shut up in those cases, especially if they don't have a lot of money. She's also still a minor. She ended up being kicked out of the group by the company, but I honestly don't know if that proves anything about Garam, because Hyuna was kicked out of her company, Soojin was kicked out of her group, Jessica was kicked out o fher group and company, and all of them were accused of doing "bad" things in their group and company when in reality, they didn't do anything wrong. Hyuna just dated someone, Soojin didn't do anything but exist, and Jessica wanted to start her own fashion company. If Garam is a similar case, then we're just further proving that money and rumors will continue to run the industry.

I don’t Stan that group but it kind of hurts me because she’s kicked out now. There’s nothing that can be done anymore. I heard she’s only 15 so sending hate a death threats will really effect her in the future. If she end up taking her life or attempting to all fans will feel bad about what they’ve said and done to her to make her go that low. Fans are fake. Y’all switch up so quickly it’s sad. If she is proven innocent then all fans who bullied a MINOR will feel bad and look stupid. Garam will never be the same. The group will never be the same. More importantly the only thing that is confirmed is that the alleged victim clicked nak*d pictures of garam’s friend and distributed them on social media . She was punished with school transfer, this incident is confirmed in the SVC report . The lawfirm daeryun who had cornered hybe into apologising made a threat they would release the report but to this day, they still haven’t . My bullies in middle school bullied me and afterwards said I bullied them, so I can relate somehow to Garam if she is innocent. They made up stories or provoked me cause I was a straight A student, and they wanted to ruin my image (they were so envious), maybe that’s what they want from Garam

i dont care if garam is guilty or innocent. what I do care about, however, is the fact that netizens harassed and exposed a 16 year old girl, someone who is not even a legal adult. She graduated from middle school only a couple years ago, meaning she hasn't had a lot of time to think about her actions, ESPECIALLY because of her debut and everything going on. She has a chance to ask for forgiveness and mature. A lot of people do stupid things as young people.

People have the truth shoved right in their face and still decide to believe a twisted story with a false narrative, which is probably why hybe decided to terminate the contract. People didn't want an explanation or conclusion they just wanted drama to make this little girl their punching bag, even when it means ignoring the true story. Even the alleged victim claimed they attempted over people cyberbullying her, per her own words, yet people who don't care about she said and changed her words to say she attempted because of garam, it's sickening.

Omg trueee...have you heard that one bulling case that the glory was based from, the curling iron one? That was what the knetz should be raging about, that one was horrible those kids should face trial as adults and korea should change their law. Instead of bullying someone for mere rumors just because its about a famous company's idol. Every rival company or group's fans are like waiting for the tiniest scandal to attack that famous company is very rampant these days i can totally see them. I wish they exert the same efforts to expose pedos and literal violence/crime in their country.

Here to spread the message. @ John Jackson for credit Garam is declared innocent of bullying and violence in the official school disciplinary report; therefore, she should have stayed in Le Sserafim. Garam defended a friend verbally who pleaded for help when Eunsoo took hidden photos of Garam's friend in her underwear and hacked a facebook account to post them online under another name to incriminate an innocent student. Eunsoo's rich father used his influence to push through a disciplinary committee that was biased against Garam. Yet, the level 5 offense that Garam received for defending her friend with a cuss word or two carried 0 severity points for violence and was the most common one given at her school, while Eunsoo's very rare level 8 offense carried 16-20 points in severity of violence which was beyond suspension. Yet, the rich father used his influence to get Eunsoo to transfer schools before the punishment could be implemented and jealous Eunsoo bullied Garam at the new school by getting boys in online chat rooms to threaten violence against her and keep inviting her so she couldn't leave the chats. Garam also had insults and obscenities written on her desk at school. Eunsoo's intense jealousy of Garam debuting in her favorite kpop company was one of the primary driving forces for the lies and corruption to drive Garam out, but another pivotal reason the powers in kpop and South Korea were so rabid in going after Garam is that she stood up to the rich elite's perverted "right" to post child porn online, use blackmail to control girls' lives, and incriminate others by stealing their identity to post it so they don't get caught. In their demented minds, this is what they call a perpetrator of crimes. As a result, Eunsoo's rich father purchased a dirty law firm to file a fraudulent lawsuit with the ulterior motive of destroying Garam's career since it coincided with Garam's debut in Le Sserafim and had nothing to do with the stated intent which was accusing Garam of bullying, since the school incident happened four years before and was caused by the violent actions of sexual harassment and theft of a facebook account by Eunsoo. According to the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), Garam was by far the hardest hit target by Kakao Organization affiliated with Starship with 336 slanderous articles written to destroy her reputation. Kakao is currently under investigation by the FTC for reverse viral marketing. Kakao falsely claimed that Garam was an ex Starship trainee who was removed for bullying other members which was a lie. Furthermore, Kakao is responsible for the slanderous picture and article claiming that Garam had written down with Ive and other famous kpop groups on a blackboard, even though Garam is not seen in the picture and even though she hadn't attended that school since 2018 which was long before the group IVE even formed. Finally, they are responsible for lies about Garam bullying other Le Sserafim members. it is obvious that there was a coordinated conspiracy to cancel Garam, especially with the fake evidence and fabricated photos spread all over the internet by the fake victim, Eunsoo, her rich father's purchase of a dirty law firm to file a fraudulent lawsuit with the ulterior motive of destroying Garam's career, and Kakao's viral flooding of the internet with negative and slanderous articles against Garam who was innocent of the false allegations. While Hybe appeared to defend Garam in a superficial sense by putting out an official statement that recounted Garam's version of the story, it was done in an impersonal way with statements like According to Garam. Furthermore, it was issued too late, since it also announced that she was being placed on hiatus. However, the real incompetence and undermining by Hybe came from their refusal to let Garam make the public statement she requested in mid-April and their refusal to let her release the official school disciplinary report which she also had available in mid-April. Even worse, Hybe's complete betrayed of Garam came when they refused to release this critical information even after Eunsoo's side released a cropped and marked on part of the school disciplinary document which only indicated Garam's offense. Furthermore, they didn't release the testimonies of the many students that supported Garam's innocence. Hybe also never filed lawsuits for libel or slander against all the false information and incriminating faked photos posted by the fake victim (real bully) or against the death or sexual assault threats that were posted online which badly damaged Garam's reputation and traumatized her psychologically, especially since she rarely left her dorm room during the time of her hiatus because of anxiety and depression. This downcast condition and isolation persisted for an extended period even after Garam left Hybe and went home. This cyber witch hunt fueled with malicious lies didn't give Garam's side of the story which would have been based, if it had been allowed to take place, on official school evidence, direct testimony and the emotional resonance of Garam's personal appeal. The effect was to create great hype at the moment of debut but to destroy the mental health of Garam who was falsely accused and served as the scapegoat for the group. There is even a haunting scene in an ad in which Garam falls really hard on a car which suggests that she is Hybe's fallen sixth angel, since Le Sseragim means six angels. Then after a long hiatus and a period of silence, Hybe dumped Garam with no attempt made to clear her name, even though they had all the evidence to do so and even though they had used the excuse of an upcoming trial against Eunsoo as the reason not to reveal the evidence to exonerate Garam. The defender against sexual exploitation, Garam, was severely punished and Eunsoo, the sexual offender of Garam's friend and facebook hacker was rewarded. Therefore after Garam's unjust cancellation and while sunk in the depths of depression, it was left up to Garam with the help of her faithful friend Yudimi to muster up the strength to clear her name by releasing the official school disciplinary report and Garam's explanatory statement in August, in which Garam refuted many of the falsehoods by saying she never drank or smoked, never bullied or ordered anyone around, never transferred schools and never used violence. She also had the honesty to admit that she would have handled the defense of her friend a bit differently now that she had the perspective of more maturity but was adamant that in principle she had done the right thing because her parents had taught her the importance of defending a friend in a time of adversity. But honestly, Garam's actions seem really honorable and reasonable considering the severity of the offense: yelling and saying a couple of cuss words at Eunsoo for posting half nude photos of her friend as a profile pic online and hacking a facebook account to incriminate another student. Better yet, I thought of Garam's actions as a wise lesson posed as a question: If every member of a group and its fandom had the guts to defend a targeted member the way Garam defended her friend against a powerful and perverted enemy like Eunsoo, wouldn't all these unjust bullying cancellations like of Jimin, Soojin and Garam come to an end? In Garam's closing address in her letter, she thanked her fans with a harbinger of hope, GaramDream. And the strength of Garam's and Yudimi's efforts freed from Hybe's draconian restrictions turned the tide of public opinion in Garam's favor. Presently, there are some hopeful signs such as Garam giving thanks to her fans on her birthday for her video banner in Seoul on November 16, and 6 days later the first beautiful photos of Garam in her yellow school uniform appeared on twitter. My hope is that if Garam wishes to return to music that she will go into jpop in Japan, as I think it would be safer and give her far more freedom of expression and action. Garam is also quite popular there, comments are more positive for her there than in South Korea, there are far fewer risks, and Japanese songs are longer with storylines that include acting in the videos, which is a great fit since she is currently studying acting at the School of Performing Arts. Plus, the big money influences and propaganda and cancellation campaigns waged against her in kpop will have far less influence in Japan and she will have better protection in Japan from the depravity of lies, misogyny, jealousy and hypocrisy. However, I will support her in whatever she decides to do especially if it is kpop or kdrama because she will need a lot more protection then. Garam is one of my very favorites because of her great beauty and charisma on stage and her fabulous singing, dancing, and her strong integrity of character at such a young age. Her soothing sweet vocals with a touch of sassiness in Blue Flame and Sour Grapes are like a delightful dream and her beautiful ferocity in Fearless is captivating. Her heartbreaking story and efforts to rise again from great persecution are a true inspiration and remind me of an epic movie, so it is certainly no coincidence that she is studying to be an actress. I just wish her the best of success, happiness with love and trust from family and friends, and warmth and understanding from all over the world.

NOT MY COMMENT JUST WANNA SPREAD TO ATLEAST PUT SOME JUSTICE TO GARAM For those not caught up on the Garam case: This case was resolved 11 months ago when Garam released the full School Violence Committee Document (Eunseo, the "victim", had previously shown the public only the first 3 lines of the document). Turns out the person who called themselves the "victim" (we call her Eunseo) and said she got bullied by Garam was actually Garam's friend in middle school, but they decided to stop being friends because Eunseo kept talking behind all of her friend's backs. Eunseo was salty she lost all of her friends and decided to hack into an ex-friends Facebook account (to make it look like it wasn't her who did this) and post pictures of another ex-friend (12 y/ o at the time) where they were only wearing their underwear. This was very traumatic for the girl whose pictures were posted because she still had to attend school after students saw her half naked so she called Garam and asked for help. Garam tried to reach Eunseo,but she wouldn't pick up so frustrated Garam cursed a couple of times over text and when they eventually met up Garam coursed and yelled at Eunseo some more and asked her to delete the photo and apologize. Eunseo later went to the schools violence committee and asked them to punish Garam for the cursing over text and Garam got the Iv15 punishment (most common punishment in her school). It was never bullying, because before that incident they were literally friends. Oh yeah and also, to avoid punishment, Eunseo transferred schools and then continued to spread rumours about Garam in the new school. So yeah, Garam's career got ruined by a jealous person and a former (fake) friend who couldn't stand to see Garam achieve her dreams. She worked so hard probably for years to finally debut and just one person who’s side can’t even be proved just ruined her entire future as an idol and her reputation as well. So so so freaking sad.

Look at this video. There are many videos like this that explain everything so well and debunks all the misinformation. But in the end we still get the undesired result. Thanks to you and many other people for not being afraid to speak the truth and for thinking critically. For not following the crowd but for using their own brains. I can't imagine how she must be feeling rn.

Great video, heavy topics beyond the case. The one thing I dislike about it is your cinematic pauses are too long man

I know Garam is never going to see this but i just want her to know she's pretty and she has amazing vocals. She shouldn't feel like she has no fans cause she has quite a lot. I wish i could have gone to atleast one of their concerts or meet and greets, i would have shouted her name. I can imagine how it feels to be hated in such a level that you start doubting yourself Garam is still a minor the amount of hate she's getting is very traumatic GARAM FIGHTING!!!💖💖💖 I REALLY REALLY LOVE YOU LE SSERAFIM IS NOT THE SAME WITHOUT YOU!!💖💖💖 I love the other five girls but i watched them debut as a six member group it's really painful to see one go. GARAM FIGHTING!!! From you Fan!!💖
