I worked at Louis myself for about a year and couldn't even handle the toxic work environment. I could only imagine working for 7 years... Kuddos to you, and I hope you are enjoying the new brand your are with! I am currently with another luxury brand as well and have been treated 100 times better!

Toxic work environments are the worst 😢 The last toxic work environment I worked in was when I was an elementary school teacher. I still have ptsd from working with the administration at my school and that was 10+ years ago. I’m so sorry you had to experience this. Thank you for sharing. I’ve purchased from LV in the US, I moved back home to Australia this year and have purchased from my Sydney based store recently. The service is like day and night 😮, I was able to wander the store at my leisure, my client advisor pulled many items that interested me, very patient and offered me drinks. I chatted to other customers comparing bags they were all looking at, no pressure from anyone to hurry up. My first visit I was picking up a card holder that I purchased online for $375 AUD. This was not the same where I lived in US unfortunately. I always felt to enter the store I had to have a specific reason and was going to purchase otherwise I felt I was wasting peoples time. Working for a luxury brand should be an amazing experience for both employees and customers

I totally feel this. I buy regular online mostly. Store experiences are totally not good for me. Respect, kindness, interest is mostly missing. You have to ask for getting a bag in your hand, to get a bag for carrying your purchase home. F.e. I ordered something in May and still no contact to me. I need to ask and ask. I get your points and that seems very strange!!!! The percentage you likely to get is a joke. I can understand why a SA is then kinda pissed. But if you are not happy with your job quit it! Sorry, my opinion. It is always your own choice. 😢😊But respect, values are always deserved by everyone. By the way what do you think about the Fold me Pouch? Phone Bag? I’ve had mostly friendly experiences living in both US and Sweden but have noticed a very high turnover rate here in Sweden for all CAs. This isn’t just for LV but all of them seem to rotate around to other boutiques very frequently and I haven’t had the same CA for more than a few months before they’ve left. Here I don’t think they make any commission at all on anything, from what I understand, due to the labor laws here. But I try not to waste their time and just go in to “browse” and only go if I actually intend to buy something. It feels like the influencer culture may have ruined this a bit for everyone as they go into the store to film and often do not buy anything, therefore wasting CA’s time. Curious on your thoughts about this?
@maisonmalli
@maisonmalli Год назад
The high turnover thing is also prevalent here. I think people think the only way to earn more money is to work for a brand for a year or to build their résumé and then move on. Because staying with one company for a long time means you never get an increase in wage. I think abroad no commission but I think the quality of life is better like six weeks vacation opposed to two weeks here. As a ca I’ve never really had influencers waste my time.

It’s sad that LV treats their employees this way. The fact that they’re more focused on profits versus overall CA and client experience is terrible.
@maisonmalli
@maisonmalli Год назад
Truly I think they care about client experience. That’s why they do secret shops, and 1000 surveys to make sure that SA’s are giving good experiences. I think they know if they don’t document it; advisors wouldn’t care. So they treat advisors poorly and make sure they document closing experience to make sure it isn’t transitioning to customers but of course if you don’t purchase Lv doesn’t see how badly you have been treated
@makeupboxfyi
@makeupboxfyi Год назад
I HATE to hear this! I myself used to work for the largest glasses conglomerate, Luxottica🙄 While the treatment wasn’t as bad and your LV experience, the pay was terrible, 25 cent raised were the norm, and almost every store manager I had left the company in a year and a half tops, due to mental anguish! I’m grateful for the experience it gave me, but because of that 9 years experience I have the biggest hearts for sales associates! I try and fill out the surveys, ask for managers emails, and send gifts to thank them for there hard work! You too often see people complain, but rarely acknowledge people good work and kindness. I just commented about this in a video I’m editing, lol! As someone in that environment, how can we the consumer, reach out to LV corporate effectively? I’m all about companies taking care of the employees, those are the legs that help them stand! It’s truly is disgusting to hear how companies treat those who truly make them shine! Shame on LV!!
@maisonmalli
@maisonmalli Год назад
Honestly it’s a big mess && I think one that will be hard to rectify as I truly think LV doesn’t care. LVMH is in it to dominate and that’s all that matters to them. It’s really nice that you take care of associates around you. I do the same and alwayyyyss write reviews on their behalf. When I shopped at Dior in Paris I had them find the director in that big store just to tell him how much I loved my experience and i also filled out the survey when it came

Hi Malli, I had a friend of mine go in store to purchase the last t-shirt available online fortunately it was my size “3L” which online states was the the largest size but when he got there they actually didn’t have it in stock they had a 4L which to my surprise didn’t make sense to me because the maximum size online is 3L I contacted client services and they was unsure of why they had access to extra larger sizes on their end but noticed it didn’t show it as an availability online smh so I started if that’s the case you must have the shorts I want in a 2L instead of the maximum size stated online as 1L? @maisonmalli
@maisonmalli Год назад
I’m not saying the reason EVERY associate doesn’t give good service is because of management; but for the most part. This made me think of something else though I should have mentioned in the video. If you went to LV 10 years ago you would notice most of the staff were mature individuals. Professionals let’s say 35 and up. These people viewed LV as a career. But now when you go to LV you notice that a lot of the advisors are younger 19 20 21. This is because LV can pay them a lot less for their limited to no experience. A lot of these kids are in school and don’t care. LV is just part time when they get their degree they move on. So they don’t care about giving great customer service. Essentially Louis Vuitton is getting what they are paying for. Girl it’s so much going on!
@pure_indulgence8144
@pure_indulgence8144 Год назад
Honestly that’s disgusting! The folks that I work with at LV have been nothing but delightful and I think it’s ridiculous that they get treated like that on the backend. As a client how do you make that better for your CA/SA? Do we ask for the manager and sing praise? Or is the only way to show our gratitude is to focus on leather goods/ready-to-wear?
@maisonmalli
@maisonmalli Год назад
Honestly it’s a horrible cycle. It’s my experience that when you give them what they want; they become greedy. When fragrance launched the comission was 4%. After two years of advisors building it up; once that category was secure they dropped the commission to 2%. Like we don’t need you guys anymore it sells it’s self. && then they increased the commission on jewelry because that was their next push. The only way is for fans to boycott and starve lv of money; but I truly expect no one to do that sincerely as I’m not advocating for people to do that; just answering your question. Singing praises doesn’t work. I got exceeding expectations on my reviews. Top performances in my store and still didn’t get raises. Change needs to happen from within

Horrendous treatment, especially as the owner is currently the richest man on earth. SAs are the people who bring him money so they should be rewarded better for their hard work. Shame also on the poor quality. I have decided to buy a bag from LV after a long break and had to return it due to number of defects on the bag. Hi. I have a question about one of the LV bags. The small Trunk Papillon. I just purchased it but it’s still in the box because I’m debating whether or not to keep it. My only concern is whether or not the canvas where it bends when it opens and closes will crack way before it’s time. It’s a tubular bag and the opening is not on hinges which I think it should’ve been. With the current quality issues, is this a bad choice? I love it so much but it’s so expensive for it to look like crap in two years😊
@maisonmalli

I’d be lying if I said that I saw that one. The one thing LV will do though is stand beside its product. You seem to really love it so just go ahead and enjoy it. If you see any cracking or wear within the next couple of years take it in and get yourself a new 1 ☝🏾

And I asked him if he gets all the performance points or commissions if I buy something at the btq when his buddy serves me during his off days ( he does, and he will have to do the same for his buddy on the buddy's off duty days ) . I really hope the work environment in my local boutique is pleasant. She did tell me that the commission was low but she also got paid a salary. She has been very successful at LV as she has received two promotions in 3 years. Now she is a Manager and she actually loves it there. My advice is not to stay at a job that you receive such bad treatment. Also, 7 years is way to long to be in the same position with no growth. The fact that your associate is “so happy there” but still felt comfortable enough to tell you the commission sucks is very telling. Also I don’t think 7 years is a long time to not have growth. I could have been promoted several times but I DID NOT want that. I seee what people have to do there to be promoted. It’s this carrot they dangle over your head to have you do their biding && when you don’t they threaten you with that. Hard pass. Also mangers in general in retail don’t make significantly more than associates && their is no work life balance there. Also no associate is salaried at Lv. Only managers are. I could go on and on but really there is no point as If you didn’t live that life you wouldn’t understand.
