The Truth About My Fight "Controversy" w/ iDubbbz

In May I was lucky enough to be invited to Tampa, Florida to compete in the first ever "Creator Clash", an influencer boxing event designed to raise money for charity. Together with the other fighters we raised over 1.3 million dollars! It was a life-changing experience to not only compete but watch my fellow RU-vidrs fight as well, such as Michael Reeves, Harley from Epic Meal Time, Graham Stephan, Alex Ernst, Justamix, Hundar, AB from the H3 podcast, Dad and Mat Watson, James from TheOdd1sOut, and so many more. While this event was an incredible success and couldn't possibly be overshadowed by anything, it didn't come without its controversies. Today I want to give you a behind the scenes look at my time in Tampa and everything surrounding my main event fight with Creator Clash creator, iDubbbz. If you followed the event at all then you may already know about the mix up with rounds and their lengths, the anger towards my glove tap in the second round, or any of the other drama that's been discussed on reddit forums and podcasts across RU-vid. Today I want to discuss all of it and let you know what really happened, and finally put the fake beef to rest.
Also, who should I fight next?

so you guys are comparing someone who trained boxing for about 10 years (you call that inexperienced???) to someone who just started that, because of a show fight. It was for publicity. Not for charity. Fights make a lot of money. None of us know how much of the money actually make it to the charity. But one thing is for sure. Since Floyd Mayweather started doing these kind of exhibitions he found a way to create drama and publicity to make a great amount of money by doing fights. Physical violence makes money and it's not just for the charity. Jake Paul and Logan figured that out a long time ago.

Disclaimer: this isn’t about idubbbz or Dr.Mike There are many people who are famous or very wealthy and a few Million dollars to charity doesn’t mean anything to them so they do it for tax write offs and for the simple publicity of the situation to make them seem as if they are a good person. Now I simply couldn’t care less why they donate to charity because a donation is a donation and the money given to the organizations will be used for good however they could be a horrible person who just decided to write a check and sometimes it’s released that people donate to charities yet the charities either never receive the donation (they didn’t send it) or the place they donated to wasn’t real and the money goes back to them. This was simply to inform anyone who may not know this and believe all that donate are “good” people and once again had nothing to do with Dr. Mike or Idubbbz

People need to understand that in a fight, whether a friendly fight, a real fight, or even a street fight, unintentional hits happen. They are literally moving, punching, and dodging 60+kmph hits, there is no way for them to control the exact places that these hits will land. That's why the ref and warning calls are there for a reason. And another thing, the sympathetic nervous reflex is there to protect the wellbeing of a person. It is a survival reflex of the body when in a stressful situation, such as a boxing match. Landing some cheap shots and punching while hugging is difficult to control especially if you're a first time boxer. That's why the phrase "control your nerves" exist

This is why I am not a fight of touching gloves at all. Boxing, MMA, nothing. just come out of the ring ready for action. Seen too many fights where people get tagged after a glove touch that changed the whole game, just seems silly. Even if its a legal tactic you're kinda forced to touch gloves if they offer cause its "bad sportsmanship" not to. Hey sometimes fighters like to be outside the clinch not in it, in mma some people got bad takedown defense. Telling that fighter to touch gloves and expose themselves willingly to defend a sudden off the glove takedown or hook is just Asasine.

"glove touch insta gib is to be expected" No. While I agree it isn't as big a deal as people are making it. And Mike didn't do it to get a cheap shot on purpose. Let's not pretend that this is something that is normal and clean. Legal =/= Clean. I've been fighting in amateur MMA for 9 years. @@AnDr3w066 I don't really think. He did fairly well and so did Ian. And not to mention they didn't have a great weight difference. The doc is 188.4 pounds and Ian is 188 pounds.

Honestly, this doc took all the criticisms like a champ. Just imagine winning your first boxing match and then be bashed in the worst way possible because of a little celebration. My respect for him went through the roof

@@nirmalroychoudhury9550 yeah for making weight. You think ian can carry that weight regularly or did he have to look like a dadbod to reach that weight. Again he spent how many years training boxing only to have to resort to cheap shots against a nerdy guy. Pretty yikes

You looked like you were one tan away from asking us if you ever told us the definition of insanity. You were definitely the villain in that fight. But I don't get why that's a bad thing. It made for a great show and a great fight. It doesn't mean you're a bad person.

I hate that boxing is so intertwined with ego. i loved that this event strayed away from that aspect HEAVILY. Just love and respect all around. Can't wait for Creator Clash 2!

"Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth." - Mike Tyson I've had a few exhibition kickboxing fights, definitely not in front of 10,000 people, and I agree with you, you can throw everything out the window for the most part once you get in there.

Don't worry about being the "villian" in events like these people like to make their own storylines for the fighters. Idubbbz not only has a super strong fanbase but he was the underdog so of course they were gonna make him the hero of the story. Im sure any reasonable peson doesn't have any ill feelings towards you
@booty.destroyer

I've watched idubbbz for years and I think if idubbbz is excepting the loss than nobody should even think about trash talking Mike. They weren't the ones in the ring with Mike so there isn't a reason for them to be upset.
