My current situation. Going on almost 4 years married and I've COMPLETELY lost myself. Things I had been working on before my marriage stopped altogether...now I find myself trying to put ME back together, it's hard

Awww thank you for sharing Queen!!! I made the decision recently NOT to marry my sons father. He had put me through so much in our relationship/my pregnancy and it wasn’t until after finding out I was pregnant I saw his true colors and that we just wasn’t on the same page with anything. His family especially hi mom put me down so bad and would call and harass me throughout my entire pregnancy to tell me I was wrong for not being with her son it was a mess. I try my best to stay positive and focused on God and my son but I hope one day the truth comes out even tho I want him to genuinely be happy sometimes I find myself hoping he gets a dose of his medicine. Like he and his mom harassed me my mom and 70 year old grandma smh

The first year of marriage is always hard. You both are adjusting your life and neither one of you know how to be a husband or a wife. It comes with a lot of hurt feelings and “did we make the right decision “. But, it does get better for most people.

They'll maybe sit down with you WHEN you are engaged(or mostly after you are married. Lol) I have been around women older than me who were regretful(been married for decades tho) in that they got married so young and had kids so early. These times we are living in, maybe the past 50 or so, its not really good to be married so young like that. Those women were still with their mates but they were like those 'had a family too young and when the kids got grown/old enough they want to go out and hang because all of their youth was sucked up in starting very early' kind of women. Now there are some who are married very early, 18,19 and they are happy couples so it REALLY, really depends on the situation of the mindset of the individuals. Maybe they've been taught and raised on it early in their lives and their hearts were really, really set on it. I have family like that.

I feel this in my soul. I've also been with my partner my whole 20s and I'm now almost 29. I'm so glad we didnt get married already because we both realized we had to learn who we were as adults. He's been saying "you're blossoming" for a while and it took me some time to notice it. We both have a lot of growing to do but we're growing as individuals and growing together as a couple.
