I went to a bar last night and saw my friends playing 4 players on a big screen. I got to play and it was fun and competitive. The fun factor is the most important factor in a purchase for me.
came here to find out if there is splitscreen multiplayer. Definitely getting this now. I'm blessed to have a wife and 4 game playing kids so we will have a blast!!!
I can't believe they left out 2 of the 3 games that were in the original NWC. Licensing aside, it's NWC. Put the games in. At the very least, give us a real NWC challenge where we had to complete the original goals. All that said, I am enjoying my time with it. Each game should have a leaderboard, though.
@M64bros If you downloaded it back then you still have it in your account, but the online servers are shut down so even if you have Mario 35 downloaded, it's not playable 😔
Probably the thumbnails of him playing other systems while having different emotional responses depending of the game don't look as good as the Nintendo Switch ones, or maybe making them is too much struggle.
As someone who has played many of these games through emulation but rarely sat down to fully experience them, this has been a fantastic experience. I really enjoy constantly trying to get a better rank and being thrown into parts of the game I never experienced before. I was born in '98, so maybe this is just my perspective as a 26-year-old, but I'm having a lot of fun. I bought the deluxe edition, and it's awesome having all the extras it comes with.
Been my issue with Nintendo for a moment. I get all of 2 seconds of a friend saying " oh cool " when I show them anything I did in a game and then that's it. Nothing long lasting.
@@L_Zant I don't fully think I understand your question but I think the answer is that other platforms have a continuous gaming level that you increase. Nintendo doesn't do that because they think it makes games less fun. They actually said they feel achievements detract from gameplay. I still own more games on the switch than about 98% of all players so it's not like it stops me from giving them my money.
@stevenwasik3369 Ummm...it is absolutely 100% true. The only way you can play their retro games legally today is either you already own them, collect via a 3rd party, or pay for their online service. Every single E3, Treehouse event, Summer CES, Winter CES, etc.. that has passed since the Switch launched fans have asked for a return to the Virtual Console. They have declined every single solitary time. Oh, but it gets better... Did you know that Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft have come together for their online presence? They are all running on Microsoft's Azure Network. Every game you download or multi-player match you play on a Switch is through Azure, but why? All three claim this was done for "better online services," but that is a lie. No, this was done in preparation for the full digital takeover. Once complete, they will push out all competitors and price fix their games. They will then come for the PC gaming next. Addendum- Look up FTC v. Microsoft for a glimpse of the future and where gaming is going. At this point, we are looking at the second video game crash. Only this time, it will be felt globally.
huge let down for me is that it doesn't have the full games available. yeah, it's about championship and tiny challenges, but having a bunch of classic NES games on cartridge would be a blast
All the games are on the virtual console. You can play almost all of them already on your switch for no additional fee, aside from online service. This is a party game. I believe it's also only 30 dollars.
Picked it up yesterday at Best Buy for my kid. He couldn’t do som donkey Kong challenges and had me show him and I got and S rank and blew his mind. I started showing him a couple of tricks here and there and he was grinding out challenges. Brings back memories.

I bought 2 delux editions... I never do this with games but this one... I had to. One to open fully and display or use the items that come with it and one to be a brick on my shelf and kept sealed for my kids to sell years down the line lmao I dunno. I just had to for this one.
I got mine today! Can't wait to jump into this. Looks like a ton of fun. I'm been using this release to give some info to my kids about the history of the NWC. Great vid 👍

I bought digital it’s a good game to hone your timing and button skills will help with other gameplay I have enjoyed so far brings me back to childhood when I got for Christmas the year it came out with the track pad and the gun.
I dont understand it, I was expecting it to be who could finish the level first, who could get the most coins per level , who could beat the game with least amount of deaths, who could speed run the level the fastest. These small short tasks seem useless to me
Everyone that is saying this game is bad is mostly people that are not trying the local co-op/couch co-op gaming experience! I'm playing with my two boys and we are having a blast! Playing online is ok but in my opinion the most fun is sitting next to someone else where all the bragging and smack talk happens while seeing people's reactions and emotions during failures and victories!
I think it’s a good game for my age group (40-50).Younger gamers don’t have the skill of the people who played when the nes came out. I can beat super Mario 1 in my sleep, most new gamers can’t even figure out holding a button makes you run. So I think mostly older gamers will buy it.
@HowToMakeGoodVideos what I mean is it's meant for older gamers that grew up with nes. Most gamers now don't want to go back that far in time. They just want current stuff with great graphics.
I loved NES remix and have wanted them to revisit the concept ever since the switch launched! I know this isn't 100% that idea, but I do love the idea of retooling it as a speedrun challenge and theming it after the NWC competition. I pre-ordered the deluxe edition because those extras looked super cool! can't wait to compete online!
Honestly being part of history is good enough for me. The fact that it's $30 for the content in this game and it's officially world championship edition and not NES remix, means that they really care about their legacy. I am not a fan of online play anyway so that really doesn't deter me from buying this or keeping this. I do see how people really like that. I hope it's in a future update patch for those who care, as for me, i already bought it and really enjoy it
Gotta say, this is perfect for gamers with short attention spans. Snippets of your favorite games in bite size challenges. It’s a lot of fun. I was pleasantly surprised.
I’m enjoying this game a lot more than I expected (considering I wasn’t sold at all when the trailer dropped) however, that first kid Icarus challenge S rank can absolutely eat it. Insanely tight timing
The packaging is fire and the goodies inside the box are definitely worth the price of admission the pin set is super nice . But in my personal opinion the game is a snooze fest 💤 it’s nothing like nes remix and that’s what I thought I was getting more of. ..

I'm enjoying it, and I can't wait to see where I rank in the championships because I THINK I did pretty well, on at least some of them. But I agree, it is a downright TRAVESTY that there are no Friend leaderboards. That would have elevated this game very much. I don't know why Nintendo is so against friendly competition.
This game is incredible. And the comment about leaderboards doesn't understand the point of the Championships ongoing. It's like a blind bet. You have to keep bettering your scores in hope that when it's all tallied you are the best! And that's based on the world and age rankings. You will see other scores once the championship is completed on Monday... just wait and see. Also, DLC is a must. I would be shocked if we don't get some by Xmas.
the only actual thing that counts is the physical edition just for colecting... Otherwise is a waste of money... Especially the digital edition...this could go along with nintendo online membership...

You saying you ordered the physical but bought the digital reminded me of when I finally got a PS4 first game I got was wwe 2k22 and I had both the physical for 30 bucks then got the digital on sale for like 9 bucks.... already had the season pass... I sold my Switch and regretting it.
I disagree about the leader boards, the average person is not a speed runner, it could be discouraging to average ppl to see how terrible their times are compared to the leader board, not having that in your face can make it more enjoyable. High end players can always share how they've done through social media, and online groups
I love the idea. I mean NES remix was a blast on Wii U. But that was 10€ not 30€. But given how many updates Switch Sports got I have no doubt this game will get tons of updates with new challenges.
This explains why Spawn Wave didn't open up his actually game in his unboxing. I'm not sure if he could return it since he broke the seal as there is one in this game. Kinda strange if you ask me why he would make a video on it just to return it too. He is making money from YT from Nintendo but not giving them any money at the same time. 😅
i bought digital and hard copy as well. Being an 80s baby that was able to participate in the ACTUAL NES Championship, this brings back all the feels. lol and no i didnt get past round one, BUT I WAS THERRE!
I don't see the point in a leaderboard, as all the top scores will be a tie of the best speedrunners... once a score is perfect, you can't beat it. What I hope to see, is the top scores for each world cup when it ends in a few days.
this would be super awesome if they had something similar on Smash to learn combos. Like Link combo 2 hits, 3 hits --> 10 hits with personal bests etc.!
Kid Icarus is a classic. Yeah, it's not easy or quite the masterpiece that Uprising was but calling it a bad game is laughable. I wish they would make a new one.
I wish it'd sell well and they'd end up doing a SNES version, a N64 version, and then I'd LOVE to see Sony fo a PS1-2 version, and Xbox/Xbox 360 versions with leaderboards. I think this is a great idea they just really need to push the friend integration.
@@koba2348 yes I'm aware, that's irrelevant to what I'm asking for. They can just use the idea, and make a competitive game where people compete to do things in games fast. It doesn't need a "World championship" to make a good game.
