Holy words my friend. most of the kids started to do parkour in the last year asked me about flips, massive jumps and crazy things to do, but when i ask how long they practise, they say they are just beginners, they dont even know how to roll, how to precision, dont even know how to do a proper landing. Everyone should think like you do and like i do. Basics, are called like that because they are at the base of parkour, if you miss those, you can't practise because the only thing you can get is a big risk.

Parkour: The activity or sport of moving rapidly through an area, typically in an urban environment, negotiating obstacles by running, jumping, and climbing. Free Running: A version of parkour that includes acrobatic moves that are purely aesthetic.

+Minecraft Map Reviewer NO HEAK NO YOU GOT IT WRONG i have pondered this question for a while. Parkour is from point a to point b as quick as possible and freerunning is parkour but connecting movements together, less quick as possible but connected

by conditioning it also means doing small things first like vaults, percisions, and rolls. Not just working out. And that's how everyone should start.

I don't care about tricks I care about effeciently getting from A to B regardless of what stands between. Plus keeping flow and momentum that's more fun than stop and start stop and start struggling to get up. Like in mirrors edge

Hey, hope I can help - well it really depends on how your coming out of a motion to how your going to land- Take for example if your landing straight down from a drop - try not to reach 90 degrees and definitely never go past 90! And if your coming out of something with foreword momentum then your not really going to be able to land exactly in either - What I'm trying to say is you'll find your own natural stance that works Comfortably for you! It'l be different for different landings and...

One question: what is the best position to land? Upright or your knees in a hook of 90 degrees? And what is the stand of your feets when you land? On your heel or on your wicker?

Yes. Focus on the whole point of parkour. Flips and stuff are impractical and just a bonus. The important thing is to be able to move around your environment and get to any point you want. Everything around us are just structures made of matter, with invented meanings. We also invented the fact that we aren't "supposed" to go off the "expected path", like for example, we are expected to not vault over railings because their "purpose" is to direct our path, or wall run, because they're not "intended" to be run on. Parkour is about seeing these expectations and intentions as they really are: our imagination, as well as seeing our environment for what it really is: they're all just structures made of matter, various places on this 3D plane. As long as you're physically capable, you technically could go anywhere you like (not saying it's always a good idea, but it's possible). To see and interact with our environment in this way, that's the whole point of parkour. I'm trying my best to explain, but it's a bit hard, so sorry if you might not understand. But is it really necessary to be able to jump across rooftops, or any of the other stunts you see on TV? Just learn what's necessary for real life, and stick to the purpose. Just remember why parkour exists in the first place. (This is the best I can explain it. Hopefully it helps :) )

try not bending your legs(about more than 90 degree) much coz if you bend them to much it may cause a muscle strain land on the balls of your feets while leaning forward and slap your hands not to absorb the impact but to carry on your momentum hope that helps

I do 'parkour' just for doing these cool tricks, I always found it fun to jump around and do shit. Its probably the same with the goalkeeping. I wanted to become goalkeeper, just because of these amazing flying saves. I always find things like that fun.

i rollerblade so i thought id ask. i have good balance but dont really do aerial tricks but want to learn and a buddy of mine, whos a really good rollerblader by the way, said he learned all his aerial tricks, such as flips and spins on his feet off high obstacles and hes pro.

Every sport is like that, he didn't even say 80% dumbass, soccer, football and even basketball involve conditioning. You need strength for every sport. Just because the sport isn't about the crazy shit, and without conditioning you'd end up in a wheel chair. I just do moves and drill them to condition myself for the harder stuff.

***** I don't recall them saying a six pack was important. They said that to be able to execute a move well, you need to be in adequate physical condition. Exercises are a crucial part of parkour. As nice as it would be to jump right into advanced moves, the sport simply doesn't work that way.
