While Curtis should've did a lot better here's a handful things I noticed at the time that contributed to 50 Cent in 06/07 not being the same as 50 Cent in Late 02/ All of 03 *The Game thing-* He didn't get the Ja Rule treatment and Game Had heat for ERRBODY. We just not finding out and or seeing for ourselves how Game cut as far as an artist goes and realizing why he was cut from G-Unit. Also at the time, Game was the Underdog and he was making 50 and crew look like the bad guys. 300 Barz was premiered on DJ Envy Sirius 40 Hip Hop Nation back in 05 *Dissing Fat Joe and Jadakiss (and Nas)* - I think the main reason he blew the way he did was his back story- Underdog shoot 9 times overcomes that to topple the one of the ones at the top (Ja/ Murder Inc) to solidify himself at the top of hip hop. That's good enough to where he could if had at least 5 Diamond Albums. But now he dissing guys and trying to get the people to turn on folks who ain't really done anything but be on a song (New York was a Hot Song). Taking his reasoning for dissing em because they were trying to get Ja Rule back hot was contradictory because u might as well shit on the man who got him hot in the first place, Jay Z. Kanye West- Considered the Underdog in the Curtis/Graduation battle. Not really a bad guy going into the 50 thing and next another artist selling good projects. Didnt get dissed by 50 when he appeared on Games Wouldn't Get Far on Doctor's Advocate. TI- Increased in popularity from 03-05 Trap Music - Urban Legend King to being white hot when Ti vs Tip arrives. Had ATL that dropped with KING. Lil Wayne The fire to his rocket is getting ready to be lit starting with 500 Degrees Carter/Carter 2, Like Father, Like Son, Squad Up, The Drought, and everything else leading up to Carter 3. The Mix Tape Crown got passed from 50 to Lil Wayne. The 50 Cent/ G Unit Albums I don't have from 02-07 is Mobb Deep, MOP, Tony Yayo, Llyod Banks Rotten Apple,and Curtis(For Reasons Explained Above)
Thing is wit tht G Unit expansion most those guys were done. Beans was done. Freeway was done. Mob Deep was done. Mase was done. They weren’t washed but the game was changing. Freeway not going gold in 2006. 50 gave him a hit (Take It to the Top) and nobody even knows about it. Jay went wit new blood (Kanye Ross Jeezy Neyo Rihanna). 50 was signing talent tht peaked in 02.
