@jadenpinet
@jadenpinet 2 года назад
People with DID do have “inner worlds” and many DiD systems can have up to hundreds of “alters” or “parts” of any given system. It’s simply about understanding that when a child is put through repeated abuse their mind has to cope. That’s the cause of this Disorder. I’m not supporting this tiktoker at all id rather stay away from that but the basis of their claims do lie in truth.
@dakota-tv2rs

if you do any research on DID at all, almost all (to my knowledge) have an inner world because the other alters need somewhere to go when they’re not fronting. while i dont support the system, this is not a reason to not believe them and diagnose them.

The experience of mental illness is a very fluid thing, you’re right that it does apply to people differently and that people live with it in their own context. That being said, there are “rules” to how it works. We have the DSM for a reason, and diagnostic criteria isn’t just made up. It can be flawed, but that’s also why it’s constantly evolving. But it definitely isn’t as fluid as “anything can fit into it”

DID & OSDD are caused by severe/repeated childhood trauma, since alternate personality states can only form before a certain age in response to extremely unstable living conditions - repetitive abuse doesn't allow for a stable environment in which a singular, cohesive personality can form. It doesn't have to be a certain type of abuse, and the severity varies, since everyone's tolerance and response to something as unfortunate as childhood abuse is unique to them, but DID does have to stem from some form of early-on, repeated trauma, 100% of the time. That being said...I try not to judge people online who I see saying that they don't have trauma but are a system, because the nature of DID obscures your memories of such trauma, and they might be unaware/repressing it. It does annoy me, sure, especially when people act like trauma-less systems are normal (they're not...even possible....), but I know that it's not my place, even as a DID system, to determine whether or not an online stranger truly does or doesn't have trauma/a disorder. It isn't my business or problem, and I appreciate the people in the comments section who also realize that it isn't their place to condemn them -- treating everyone with patience, whether or not they "deserve" it, is way better than doubting and needling anyone who seems like they have a disorder in the "wrong" way, yknow? Sorry for writing paragraphs in your comments section haha

@ThePieeagle
@ThePieeagle 2 года назад
I’m not going to comment on if they do or don’t have did specifically, however I do think it’s likely they at least have a comorbidity. At this point it sounds like a separate type of dissociation, maladaptive daydreaming, or psychosis. I’ve personally had some experience with all three of those with myself and others around me. Tbh I think they’re in psychosis right now, there are many people who create fantasy worlds or see themselves as mystical beings when in the depths of psychosis. In my experience, there’s also levels to psychosis? Like I will think in the back of my mind (for example) that I’m a god, but I can rationalize that that’s probably not true and that if someone hears me say that, I could be in trouble. On the other hand, there’s times where I think I can hear peoples thoughts and may even feel comfortable enough telling them or start behaving erratically. I’ve never seen anyone mention this before, so I always call it cusping to myself. Wonderland could possibly be cycling through different intensities of psychosis and some of these are “appearing” as an alter
@cldge1726

omg yes, in my non professional opinion, it seems too specific, maybe too complex to just exist a whole world in someones head while some people with did have alters that dont even aknowledge each others existancd
@enyasavory156
@enyasavory156 2 года назад
In my opinion, I think there is also a large aspect of factitious disorder. Especially with the ‘Tourette’s’ situation. Their DID is very ‘rare’ in more than one case. Which is entirely possible but I think they do need other psychiatric opinions as well as the people around them giving the psychiatrist their opinion. A lot of it sounds fishy but I’m not one to say what disorder they do or don’t have. I think this whole thing has been taken out of proportion but in some ways it might be a good thing as they may be dealing with something that isn’t DID and they may be able to get treatment for it. From what I’ve seen, they don’t seem to be getting ‘correct’ treatment for DID either. They are just living with it. But with that many alters, it has to affect their life more that what they are showing if it really is DID.
@jkopppo223

Hey I do want to say I like seeing you saying you can rationalize things as untrue, as people get sort of "you understand you have psychosis? ok because of that you don't" , when its pretty common.

Okay I am not saying they are fake but here are things that seem inconsistent. Number one. The number of alters. Alters are formed by trauma. Specifically repeated trauma from ages 6-9. This is when you develop a sense of self and your personality. However when you have to become different people or have drastically different needs in different aspects of your life at that young age alters are formed. Now after you grow you can still form alters. That is because this is how your brain learned to respond to trauma but once again it takes trauma. Distinct traumatic instances. Which have 67 in the span of 6 months give or take is highly unlikely. Especially because they already have so many alters who would most likely already serve the new ones purpose. Number two. They said that they got told that they might have it while in an inpatient. This almost never happens because you only stay there for give or take a week. The doctors don’t know you. And they would almost never bring this up
@mintdrawsthings47
@mintdrawsthings47 2 года назад
1. Please research polyfragmented systems. 2. It does happen, even if they only knew you for a week. We were disgnosed with DID while inpatient 6 years ago, and every mental health professional we have seen since then agrees with that diagnosis. It can happen.
@blykem6420
@blykem6420 2 года назад
@@mintdrawsthings47 Actually, doctors in psych wards are not qualified to diagnose you with anything within the week you are there. @mintdrawsthings47
@mintdrawsthings47 2 года назад
@@blykem6420 Then I guess 3 seperate medical professionals and a whole hospital lied to me and they all independently fabricated medical documents that they had gotten from that specific psychiatrist, and I guess I have been lied to for years by different medical professionals when they told me that they agreed with the initial diagnosis of that pscyhiatrist.

What need would they have for doctors in the inner world though?? How does that even happen??
@vince3514
@vince3514 2 года назад
It could be from a number of things. Medical trauma, formative experiences being in a hospital, caretaker or protector alters taking on the role as doctors... etc. Everything that happens within the inner world is the brain putting a narrative to its experiences. Example: an alter is hurt. This alter needs a protector or caretaker to be with them. This need is perceived as a patient and a doctor. It's not actually that weird when you break it down to the bare essentials.
@Fuggles58
@Fuggles58 Год назад
It’s basically whatever the brain deems that useful for to process/cope with something. That can be as simple as keeping a sense of a safe authority figure(what a doctor is supposed to be in the very simplest of terms) IN the headspace, or coping with any given situation outside of it, aka fronting during said situation.

i don't think it's ok at all to make fun of the system but i also think they maybe should get professional help because it sounds like after getting diagnosed (within a day of being at a mental hospital or something?) they never actually got a doctor to see regularly. in any case: whether this person is faking this illness or not, it's bad to automatically ASSUME they are, and start bullying them about it.

This is... Quite the misinformed video. I have barely gotten to thr halfway mark but can already spot countless mistakes. I suggest you do more extensive resesrch and update with a second more revised video about this topic and not take their word for everything, as DID is a very complex disorder and everyone's differences are different. You are spreading misinformation about a disorder that is already very stigmatised and misunderstood, which will lead to even more misunderstandings.

This is kind of a wierd thing to address. Yes it is possible for only some to have tics. Just like how some are left handed. So a lot of people are talking about them faking DID because of the number of Alters they have and that needs to be flushed down the drain. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lsXFcbPbvI4.html This person has 2,500 alters and put away her abuser because of her alters testifying so 🤷🏻‍♀️
