It was on their line up of opening rides, made sure everyone got their season passes first, waited 3 days till opening day then announce that it will be closed. Moral of today's story is they made sure they got their money before making everyone mad

When I asked PR if they expected it to be open this season, they told me they did expect it, and Aero 360 to be open this year when I asked about both ride’s statuses. “We will share any further ride updates if/when they become available to our Attractions page. Both are expected to operate this season.” Yeah right 🙄

I could see this through multiple perspectives, Kennywood knew prior that steel curtain was going to be a prototypes. They are known for prototypes, (a.k.a. Skyrocket and black widow.) so they knew coming in that it might have problems. Did they expect this many, probably not. Of course I’m definitely not getting into other reasons due to legal reasons but let’s just say this, they shouldn’t went for S&S in the first place.

Wile it sucks and I’ll Miss my favorite ride at least the apernt issues are getting fixed allowing it to be the best it’s ever been when it next opens. Still very much looking forward to getting back to the park!

Well earlier in the kennywood season it closed because of structural issues maybe because when the coaster was on the chain lift and the inversion above the chain lift you can notice it slowly moving sideways back and forth and I’ve seen pics of people working on the supports around that area

Absolutely pathetic! Its been closed more than its been opened! They should honestly consider scrapping it at this point and put the land to better use! Could fit a mono rail RMC in that plot easy.

@RMsteelerfan7 Not really, RMC was their first choice but they backed out and made the dumb choice to go with S&S. This coaster has too many issues for Kennywood to consider keeping if you ask me.

More preempting. Hey this is like when WTAE TV Channel 4 refused Saturday Morning Cartoons from 1992 to 1998 and half of them till 2000. Hey parks are quick to close something down especially the best rides. Just not fair. They should make every effort to keep this open. I dont think they try hard enough. Just upset to not be able to ride this. Riding this will be as easy as getting an abortion in Texas..IMPOSSIBLE.
