thanks Nick! impressed you built a dual clapton. i used some kayfun orings to make the topcap fit perfect. i'm getting great flavor using a wide bore 510 drip tip. hope your convention comes together awesomely and you have time to enjoy friends!
I have the special Edition version that ha gold plating everywhere! The center post, the 510 pin, even one of the barrels is gold plated. My only complaint about it is the Allen key that was included, it's the wrong size, slightly too small, and it is too soft as well. Otherwise, love the fucking thing!
Man, Nick. You've been pretty rough on Twisted Messes the past two days. First his build, yesterday, today his atty... Bru-tal! Lol I heart your honesty.
Grimm, I had that problem with one of my troll rda. what i did was remove the o rings and put some dental floss in the groove and replace the o rings. Definitely made it a bit more snug fit. Thanks as always for your great reviews.
Grimgreen I'm loving the posters man looks like a room I'd have as a workshop lol. Thanks for the review glad it was you to review Kents RDA instead of someone like rip.
My top cap does not have your issue. The e liquid getting in the AFC is an annoyance but I do prefer this one over the dark horse. The AFC ring stays put where you want it. As for using the smaller wires, I have run down to 32 gauge in it with out any issues as long as you pay attention to what you are doing. I have yet to find a build that won't fit in this RDA. Also depending on your build it does have flavor, admittedly it does benefit from more advanced coil builds than standard. A good helix build does very well in her. It will kill a 30ml bottle in no time as well. The 6mm deep juice well is insane but great at the same time. I have been rocking this rda as my adv since it came out. Put my authentic plume viel V2 on the shelf for a bit. Good review as always, Keep them coming and have fun in Reno. Wish I was going.
im getting more flavor out off this one than the mako war or the MX V4 and if u close the air flow to the minimum and and put a 510 drip tip the flavor is awesome. that's my favorite rda to date just after the velocity. Great review man. thx
GrimmGreen I play paintball, and repair and maintain others equipment. Occasionally, when markers get improperly maintained, I need a "fatter" o-ring to stop leaking. A stop at a local hardware store will usually find an o- ring of the correct size, with a larger cross section. Maybe one larger section o-ring will tighten up the cap some, while still allowing easy removal.
The authentic twisted messes i recieved had really really tight o rings and sometimes is a pain in the ass to get off but it is great for my helix and clapton builds and the vapor is good and i tried the no afc ring on it and its a pretty good idea.
I bought the 13 Heavens 9 Hells RDA by the same company and pretty much is the same exact thing just different logo. Same o-ring issues, but I personally like it. Doesn't just fall off for me and I do like the ease of taking it off. I hate the RDAs that are so hard to pull off you have to put it on either a mod or stand and twist it around until it starts to lift cuz it's so tight you can't just pull.
catching up on old vids doing a marathon GrimmGreen weekend, and also celebrating my one month vapeversary. I got a chuckle at the start of this one... the ad was for nicotine gum!
this is my first rda, I've had it for 3 days, it's dope. mine came with a blue, silver, and black sleeve however. I really enjoy it. although the only gripe I have is the o-rings, because I was used to my freemax starre pro, and I would pull my mod out of my pocket by the tank. can't do that with the twisted messes, but that's really not a problem for me because the o-rings keep it on, it won't just fall off. I'd definitely recommend it.
I haven't had a problem with flavor, I've been able to taste the flavor loud and clear. Although, that could just be because of the juice I got, which was made at the local shop.
Don't get turned off by loose o-rings, people: just use a thread winded under the o-rings. This way you can achieve perfect tightness by winding as much, or as little of a thread as you need for a perfect tightness. If you don't have a whole lot of different o-rings lying around as those reviewers do. Cheers.
To me it is very similar to the El Cabron RDA other than the larger deck, the El Cabron has great airflow and it comes with the massive drip tip and some competition caps
Crazy big post holes....guessing my 28 gauge would just fall outta that! BTW, Im the one who wanted to buy your old camera (those black dots never bothered me)
Loved the review, loved the gargoyle hoof coil reference, loved it, loved it, loved it! I felt bad for missing the VC cloud comp 2 weekends ago, too. I was hoping to run into you and tell you in person how much I enjoy your channel. Oh well, maybe another day; Orange County is pretty small and the vape community here is pretty tight. Will you be covering the SB140 decision today?
I am not sure that I fully agree lots of airflow. I has pretty nice airflow, but if you were to put crazy coils in there it takes up so much it that it makes the airflow it has tighter than it already is. Now I am not talking bad about this atty I use it every day, I actually just pulled out my 16awg N80 single coil (Only because the atty could handle it) I just don't agree that this has an insane amount of airflow especially if you want to put crazy builds in it. The CLT V3 had insane airflow, and the Mutation X, and the Doge. I love your vids Grimm I just wanted to put in my two cents! Vape strong! (please dont think im trying to be an ass)
Normally I agree with you're assessment completely and never post comments but I believe you missed something huge here. First the flavor is fantastic. I don't know if it's my juice or what but yea I thought the flavor was great. But anyway the #1 biggest con for this atty and I'm really surprised you didn't mention it is the center post. How Kent didn't have the company build this with a square post center post is beyond me. Put a couple builds in it and the round post starts spinning. Every atty especially T style post rdas should have a square post to stop spinning. That should be the first thing when designing the rda.
dennis burklen Mine hasn't spun, and I honestly haven't heard of this being a widespread issue on this RDA. But you're right. a square center post would have been desirable.
+GrimmGreen my post does spin it spins more if you use the Allen key in the vertical position and that's using twisted 26g 6 wraps which isn't thick wire really. Not a big deal I bought some mini pliers and just straighten it during the build process. Have you tried this rda on a yihi mod? All I can say is that it's heaven in my mouth hole my sigelei 150 had been my regular 'go to' device because of this lol
Damn, that denim jacket about slapped me in the face when the video first started. Also, I like that outro. Is that the Mexican instrumental guy you talked about a long time ago in one of your videos? I cant remember his name. I recall thinking it reminded me of Animals as Leaders. Does anybody remember the name of the Mexican guitar guy?
i think it's a perfect device for people who wish to get an all around RDA within the #VapeBudgetHands, it is surely a cloudmachine. But if you turn the airflow tighter, im sure it's also very enjoyable. Highly recommended i guess. (my personal setting would be the 1,5 holes open/closed. Tight tight tight draw.),
i absolutely adore my twisted messes. it's absolutely fabulous bro! i run a single coil Clapton variation (2x28GA core / 32GA clapton, all Kanthal A1 wire used) six wraps, inside diameter 2mm and she clocks in at a quarter of an ohm. dude, the flavor is there, you just gotta build a fucking micro sized clapton. and yes, building the coil was a fucking pain. Was it worth it? Fucking amazeballls batman. clouds and flavor fo' days.
the velocity rda, you can take off the outer airflow and have a full open airflow. So its another RDA that you can do that with. just a tip from a velocity user lol
Hey grimm. Love your videos and must say over the years you have become my go to for any reviews. I was just curious and wondering if you were going to be attending ecc this year?
For these rda's that have weak orings ...just take off orings and tie a few wraps of dental floss around and put orings back on....and BAM...tighter fit.... ps always a fan Grimm...
Is that second (smaller delrin) drip tip the same that comes with the Little Boy RDA? Also, your app didn't send out a notification, just for your information. Great video as always!
Very entertaining, probably one of the most entertaining videos you've done. Kudos! The big question, though, is it worth the $50 (at eciggity)? Or should we wait for a clone to come out? I've been trying to find a good match for the up-and-coming DNA 200W devices coming out and this seems to be a good contender.
No offense to kent because I love him to death but the Velocity by Avid Vapor is the best RDA for Builders aswell as real big Nickel Coil Builds. Cisco and Dino are the Kings of Atomizers IMO and have been forever
First build I dropped in the post spun. Tried to tighten the 510 screw and the post laid over against a ground post. This is by far the worst RDA I have bought.
i have the clone and its a fucking belter of a RDA - i allways go back to it over some of my other authentic RDA's - The cloners are so on point these days its hard to find the money for authentic s - My derringer clone was an amazing clone and very very well machined - plus i got phillips head screws which i prefer as i hate having to buy grub screws as they round so easy! i have a bag of 50 for my twisted messes haha - but i have M3 phillips heads coming for it!
i have a lide size yoda authentic has his real clothes hair and what not its also life size and need it outta my gatage would u trade for mods b or purchase it i looked on ebay they go for 600 i dnt want that much rather have a mode and rda and small amout of cash. get at me
have you seen the 13 heavens 9 hell rda yet? same company that makes this but theirs a few differences would love to see a review or comparison as there almost the same just this one is newer. i see it has a v2 of this pretty much.
plz respond today i made a trade for a twistwd messes v1 for my avocado due to no flavor with my rdta did i make a good trade nick. dnt leave me hanging let me no if i did good b4 its finall btw ur vest is sick
+1010ryuzaki ......Please allow me to point out that your gripe is unfounded...the only point to the screw in top cap is to lock in your pie hole.....whoooooops....air hole adjustment.....once you lock in your desired air rush you can simply slip out whichever driptip you chose from the screw in cap and juice away.... For me I find it to be a very well designed, easy to build on RDA with a massive juice reserve and hella huge post holes for whatever build you so desire.
Hey Grimm, I've been thinking about the perception of vaping to the general public. I've encountered several people that have obviously been negatively swayed by the things they see in the media. We need to counter this with seemingly stupid things like terminology changes. Instead of vaping, perhaps start using something like "steaming" or something else which has a "cleaner" connotation. But this would only work if reviewers like yourself got together and come up with some kind of game plan. What do ya think? Good idea or am I stupid?
Shane Meredith As much as I like this idea, it would probably be impossible. the term "vaping" is too far reaching. It would be like trying to call a Frappucinno a Blended Coffee Base Beverage ... and expect it to catch on
I've personally had both and personally I'd recommend the Twisted Messes. However, it is a bit more expensive (than the Tobecco Clone, which kicks ass). For an inexperienced vaper, I'd probably recommend the velocity. It's very easy to build and will last you a long time. The twisted messes has a much smoother draw, and is a dream to build on. To be honest, it's a hard decision, but both RDA's kick ass. Personally, I'm all over that Twisted Messes👊🏼 Either way you'll have a great atomizer. As long as you're not smoking cigs, you're good dude. #NotBlowingSmoke
